Chapter 769 - NASM: Chapter 769

"I really didn't expect this place to be such a hassle. Even buying things in the morning turns out to be this difficult! I walked such a long way, but at least I finally managed to get everything we need!"

"Now we'll be able to eat properly along the way — meat and vegetables both, a good balanced diet that will keep us healthy," Hiroshi murmured happily, looking at his purchases.

Just as he said, it had taken him ages to find what he wanted. He walked past almost two whole streets before finding a supermarket that was open — and actually, it was quite large and well‑stocked.

"Now I can finally relax and look forward to going home; no more worrying about food on the road. Time to head back, wake Harumiko up, and once she's ready and we've had a meal, we can set off," Hiroshi said cheerfully as he walked along.

He had risen extremely early specifically to get these supplies. Buying things here was never easy, and if he'd waited longer, someone else might have bought what they needed.

"Perfect — everything is ready for our journey home. I'm actually feeling a little inexplicably excited. But no matter what, getting back home is the best part. Once we're there, I want to see how much things have changed and stay there for a good long while."

"We've been away quite a long time — over a year. That's the longest I've ever travelled alone… well, not exactly alone — I have Harumiko with me!" Hiroshi whispered as he walked out of the shop.

It was still quite early — just past eight in the morning — as he made his way back to their accommodation.

His plan was simple: wake her up, let her pack and get ready until around noon, have lunch together, and then depart in the afternoon.

"I'm almost there. I wonder if she's awake yet? She slept so comfortably last night, she's probably having a nice long lie‑in. She'll take her time getting ready, it'll be noon before we know it, then lunch, and finally we leave for home," Hiroshi thought to himself as he walked faster.

He was hurrying now, partly because he had bought quite a lot of things and wasn't sure how easy it would be to carry everything — though if they ate some of it at lunchtime, the load would be lighter.

Soon he arrived at the place they had called home for the past few days. The owner had been very kind, replacing their toiletries with fresh ones every day so they never had to worry about running out.

Also, the rooms were soundproofed perfectly — no noise at all at night — so they had slept peacefully without any disturbance.

"Finally back. This really is a nice place — you can tell from the way it's decorated. And it's always busy, every room is full. As soon as we leave, someone else will take our room, I'm sure."

"Accommodation in villages with attractions like this is always the same — new people arriving every day, others leaving. It's exactly like the hotels and inns back in my old world," Hiroshi thought as he entered the building and walked toward their room.

They had been lucky to get a room at all when they arrived; it had been the very last one available. Without it, they might have ended up sleeping on the street.

From now until they reached home, they would be sleeping in trees again. It wasn't exactly comfortable, but they just had to endure it for a few days until they could sleep in their own soft beds once more.

"Good thing I took the key with me when I went out — otherwise I wouldn't be able to get in if she's still asleep. Smart move on my part!" Hiroshi whispered with a grin as he took out the key.

He slid it into the lock and opened the door quietly. The room was completely silent — just as he expected, Harumiko was still fast asleep.

"Just as I thought, she's still asleep. She must have really enjoyed her rest last night. If I hadn't had to go buy supplies, I'd probably still be sleeping too!" Hiroshi thought to himself, setting the bags down softly.
