Noel's stomach lurches. Positioning himself between Jade and the entity, Noel fumbles the bag off of his back and digs out the second energy weapon. He'd hoped that, with the chaos still occurring at the site of the Fray cell, they might be able to avoid encountering any rogue malforms, but apparently he was being naive. Fortunately, it's a small beast-type, and there only seems to be one, but even one can wreak massive damage if left unchecked, and with Jade indisposed….
Steadying his shaking hands, Noel levels the weapon at the malform, finger on the trigger. Only esper energy can destroy a malform, but an energy pistol like this can disable them temporarily by disrupting the wavelength they exist on.
Thunder cracks overhead again as Noel takes aim and fires.
