Sometimes, Jake felt that the world of One Piece was truly fantastical, filled with too many things that could grant immortality.
And sometimes, the way these things appeared was downright absurd.
The ultimate ability of the Ope Ope no Mi required the user to sacrifice their own life to perform an operation that could grant someone eternal youth and immortality.
Yet here, an ordinary civilian scientist had invented something with a similar effect.
No—it wasn't just similar. It was superior in every way!
Pure Gold demanded no sacrifice, no need to swallow a Devil Fruit worth five billion berries, nor did it require a Devil Fruit user to tirelessly train and develop their abilities.
All you had to do was wear it, and you could bask in the joy of eternal life.
Thinking about this, Jake couldn't help but feel that the scientist who invented Pure Gold was the most awe-inspiring genius in the world.
Even Dr. Vegapunk paled slightly in comparison.
Just like Luffy in the movies, he was practically a conceptual god.
But right now, Jake wasn't concerned with why Pure Gold had ended up inside the giant serpent's belly.
All he cared about was whether it could grant him and Monet immortality.
After extracting the Pure Gold, the sea serpent's body seemed to sense something.
It suddenly grew frenzied, and the water it had been passively swallowing now surged with several times the previous force.
It seemed to realize that something inside it had taken the Pure Gold and was now trying to drown everything in its stomach by gulping down massive amounts of seawater!
Jake noticed the serpent's muscles contracting and, using his Observation Haki, sensed the terrifying current about to crash down on him.
But in response, Jake merely shook his head lightly.
Then, an orange-gold book materialized in his hand.
As an incantation—both cryptic and brimming with mystique—spilled from Jake's lips, the pitch-black interior of the serpent was instantly illuminated by a blinding radiance.
Outside, Monet, who had been watching in horror as the ship was nearly swallowed by the serpent, suddenly exhaled in relief at the sight of its glowing belly.
She had seen this technique before.
Jake had once used this very attack to shatter the reinforced testing apparatus Dr. Vegapunk had built for the Seraphim's combat trials.
And not long ago, the same strike had left one of the current Warlords, Gekko Moria, unable to stand—and this wasn't just any Moriah, but one who had absorbed countless shadows!
Moreover, Monet knew of another effect of Jake's attack: anyone bathed in the Holy Light would receive an indescribable boost in power.
Monet had estimated that, under the influence of Jake's light, if she went all out, she could unleash an attack only slightly inferior to Admiral Aokiji's "Ice Age."
Such a feat would have been utterly unimaginable to the Monet of the past.
After all, the Snow-Snow Fruit's abilities differed from the Ice-Ice Fruit.
To freeze the ocean on the same scale as Admiral Aokiji required even greater power than his.
Before this, Monet wouldn't have dared to dream of it.
But now—!
As the golden light pierced through the giant serpent's belly, the entire seabed instantly brightened, as if returning to the surface.
At the center of that golden radiance stood a figure that brought Monet a sense of reassurance.
Jake was completely unharmed.
He looked at Monet and flashed her a smile.
The next moment, Jake activated Moon Walk and dashed straight toward the small boat.
In less than two or three seconds, he had already landed on the deck.
Gazing at Monet's worried expression, he spoke softly:
"Sorry, Monet, for making you worry. But now isn't the time for chatting. Can you freeze this giant serpent? It seems to have gone berserk, and if it keeps following us, it'll be a real problem later.
Electrocuting it outright might be risky since we're in the ocean. I'm afraid—"
Before he could finish, Monet already understood Jake's concern.
She smiled at the serpent, her voice laced with amusement and confidence.
"Don't worry, Jake. Under the radiance of your Holy Light, I feel like I have endless strength right now!"
With that, Monet slightly raised her arm.
A terrifying power—one that seemed capable of freezing even a human soul—manifested, instantly coating the surrounding sea in a layer of ice!
Though the ice lasted only a fleeting moment before being shattered by the ocean currents, the mere sight of it was awe-inspiring.
Then, Monet exhaled a chilling breath.
With a cold, clear utterance, the serpent—spanning thousands of meters—was instantly frozen solid!
"Ice Age!"
The moment the serpent turned to ice, Jake summoned a Spear of Victory, condensed from Holy Light energy.
Unlike ordinary Spears of Victory, this one was hundreds of meters long—its tip alone nearly matching the size of their boat.
To avoid accidentally damaging the vessel, Jake had already moved outside the ship.
With a low grunt of exertion, he hurled the Spear of Victory forward.
A series of crack-crack sounds echoed as the serpent's colossal body shattered into countless fragments!
Carried by the currents, the frozen serpent meat drifted away, soon to become a feast for other marine creatures.
Jake watched the scene unfold, a satisfied smile forming on his face.
Returning to the deck, he eagerly approached Monet and pulled out a piece of Pure Gold from his pocket, asking.
"Do you know what this is?"
"Gold? You went into the serpent's belly just to retrieve this? But we already have plenty of it, don't we?"
Hearing Monet's confusion, Jake chuckled and shook his head.
He placed the Pure Gold in her palm and said solemnly.
"Calm your mind and focus on the changes in your body. Then, tell me what effect this has."
Though puzzled, Monet complied.
Closing her eyes—thanks to her training in the Six Styles—she possessed extraordinary perception and control over her own body.
In just an instant, her eyes snapped open, and she stared at Jake with an expression of utter shock before exclaiming.
"This thing can halt the aging process?!"
