"Aurora!!"
Why do l have to go through this every morning. Can't I just sleep in for once in my life. I am always woken up by my momma's screams .I drag my weary self out of bed and shuffle my feet to the washroom to prepare for school Rah.
I hate school mornings
I hurriedly bath ,go through my normal mundane routine, you know, dressing, packing my school bag ..whatever..whatever I comb my light blond hair and tied it roughly, knowing that I will be late for school well....again. I run downstairs to the kitchen to see my mum and kid brother, Jason, already sitting down eating breakfast. I mutter a quick greeting and sit down to join them. For a while we eat in silence until..
"Aurora, can you take me to school today instead of momma ?"Jason asks,
"No"I answer
"Why not?"Mum asks,
"Just ,no"But seeing the look on mum's face I can tell she is dissatisfied with my answer.
"Well then ,you will send your brother to school and back home safely...at least for now"
"But that's not fair " I protest
"Well, Life is not fair" mum yells ,I wince ,words hurting me more than physical torture. "Besides, I will be working late today "she adds in a calm tone.
I return my focus on my food. Jason can be an annoying clingy brat..sometimes, what's this sudden interest in me taking him to school, it's like having a second shadow, which should be a good but it's not .Mum says it's because Jason looks up to me ,which I don't see why he should.Did I mention that, my little brother is a computer
wizard and genius for someone his age he has an IQ of 140 he likes hacking into high level software security systems, just for fun .He once broke into the government security system but that's a story for another day .
My thoughts are distracted when I hear a screeching noise of a moving chair.
I look up to find my mum packing her bag to leave for work.
She showers us with kisses on our forehead and cheek ,before finally leaving for work.
As soon as she left...
