The Candle Bugs used people's fear of hunger and thirst, and the pain brought by high temperatures, as fuel, turning it into a transparent Heart Flame, igniting all those who consumed it, and melting them into candles, absorbed into itself.
It would then repeat the cycle, continuously luring drought-affected people to become its nourishment for growth.
Until a year later, the Spiritual Qi's resurgence entered an explosive phase, and the secret sects reopened their schools. Cultivators needed a stable place to practice, helping stabilize the world of Great Xuan. It wasn't until they stabilized the Changsun Province that people discovered the Candle Yin Remains.
By the time it was discovered, it was too late. The Candle Yin Remains had absorbed hundreds of thousands of corpses, far beyond what human cultivators of that time could handle. Even though Great Xuan mobilized the army, they couldn't kill it, and it broke through to escape.
