Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: A Change of Face

After finishing his work, Yang Bo carefully inspected the Mecha. Although it was outdated and looked a bit clunky, with a blocky design reminiscent of Mechas from old animated cartoons, it lacked the sense of Art found in modern Advanced Mechas.

"It seems like I deserved to be scolded on the game forum," Yang Bo muttered to himself. Looking at the Plasma Great Saber with its five-meter-long blade, he imagined slashing a tiny bird with it and admitted that he had indeed been a bit excessive.

Of course, admitting to being excessive was one thing; whether he would continue doing it was another entirely. It was just like those politicians who would shout slogans at a meeting one day, only to be hauled off to prison a few days later.

"Tsk, tsk. If I could take this thing back to Earth..." Yang Bo inspected it closely but didn't step onto the alloy floor, as there was a warning line.

Ten days later.

Yang Bo could now rapidly change his face in a single second. Looking at himself in the mirror, he swapped faces instantly—from a man's to a woman's. However, he couldn't significantly alter his bone structure; he could only adjust the amount of flesh on his face.

As for Sound Wave Control, Yang Bo could now manipulate it precisely within a hundred-meter radius.

Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, Yang Bo snapped his fingers. Over in the garden a hundred meters away, a leaf fluttering in the wind instantly shattered.

The entire attack took only 0.3 seconds. He felt there was no point in extending his range any further. While this fraction of a second might mean nothing to Ordinary people, a Genetic Evolver could accomplish a lot in that time.

If his target were merely a civilian resident, would Yang Bo even need to use these methods? A few solid Hammer blows would be enough to make them cry for the police.

His Invisibility ability was simply invincible. He watched his reflection vanish from the mirror entirely. Logically, the mirror should have reflected a blank space, but instead, it showed the wall behind him.

This was due to the transformation of his own Energy.

Yang Bo concluded one thing: the abilities displayed by a Genetic Evolver were merely outward manifestations. The true core lay in the Energy within their bodies.

It was like electricity on Earth, which could be converted by various machines into Sound Waves, images, wind, heat, Light Energy, and more.

The abilities a Genetic Evolver showcased were exactly like those manifestations, while their fundamental source was akin to that electricity.

Yang Bo thought, "Once this event is over, I'll buy a house. I need one with a massive basement to practice my Electric Energy Control and Light Energy Control."

He changed his clothes and headed out. Now, he didn't even need to sleep. If he was tired, he recharged. If he was sleepy, he recharged. If he was hungry, he could eat. Although he could survive without food, skipping meals left his stomach feeling uncomfortably empty.

There were now a total of six Mechas in the exhibition hall. Except for the first one, the Blade Mecha, the rest were incredibly beautiful with streamlined designs. Judging by their appearance, they were all amphibious, capable of operating in water, on land, and in the air. Their Weapons included Laser Swords, Laser Cannons, and some even had missile racks.

They came in blue, pink, and green.

"Huh?" Yang Bo muttered.

With only three days left until the exhibition began, many items had been set up in the other halls. The adjacent hall was filled with accessories used by the respective Mechas. Yang Bo didn't know exactly what they were since he couldn't enter. Coming in today, he noticed a large display board positioned in front of each Mecha, presumably prepared for their introductions.

No smart devices were used here. Instead, there were high-power signal jammers. Since the abilities of a Genetic Evolver could be bizarre and unpredictable—with some capable of manipulating data—smart devices were generally banned from exhibitions featuring highly advanced technology to prevent anyone from stealing core data secrets.

Dimension Company had been hyping up this event extensively lately, claiming that this exhibition would go down in history. Yang Bo wondered what new technologies they could possibly have. However, as an Ordinary resident, he didn't understand science, nor did he even know certain obscure laws.

Why didn't he know them? Because he belonged to a vulnerable demographic—he didn't have a Biological Chip, so he simply couldn't remember them.

Because of this, if a resident broke the law without causing serious consequences, and it was their first offense, they generally wouldn't be punished. A resident could easily claim ignorance of the law.

Of course, these obscure laws were similar to the bizarre laws found in Florida back on Earth.

With a snap of his fingers, a rough structural layout of these Mechas appeared in Yang Bo's mind. The largest Mecha stood twelve meters tall and was entirely blue. He could even see its massive transparent cockpit.

However, seeing their structures was useless since he didn't understand them anyway. Most Mecha structures were largely the same, except for some specialized variant models.

Mechas were divided into many categories; aside from combat models, there were also industrial variants for work.

The next day.

During the day, Yang Bo practiced his abilities and then checked housing prices in various areas, picking out a few satisfactory options. Annoyingly, housing prices had actually gone up because of the upcoming concert.

He didn't log back into the game. He felt that relying solely on his Power wasn't enough, and he also needed some time to let his body adjust to its new capabilities.

"How strange," Yang Bo noted.

Over the next three consecutive nights, the display boards for the other Mechas in the exhibition hall were filled out with descriptions.

For instance, the tallest Mecha was equipped with the latest generation Antimatter Battery, a full-body Energy Shield, and the newest Light Brain assistance system. It also featured a High-Energy Particle Gun, and its critical components were reinforced with Energy Metal and other advanced materials.

The Antimatter Battery's endurance and burst output were a hundred times greater than the nuclear batteries Yang Bo had used in the game.

The Mecha's instantaneous speed could even break Mach 16...

After work.

It was the first time Yang Bo had seen so many people. A large crowd was waiting outside Dome Entertainment City, and it looked like some of them were reporters. Yang Bo left directly through the employee exit. Outside Dome Entertainment City, police officers wearing Single Soldier Assistance Armor were maintaining public order.

After arriving home and washing up, Yang Bo logged onto the internet. Dimensional Modification Company was going to announce a major piece of news today. He guessed it had something to do with the Blade Mecha, as its display board had been the only one left completely blank.

At 7:30 PM.

With only half an hour left before the Dome exhibition, news about Dimension Company exploded across the internet.

Yang Bo quickly opened Dimensional Modification Company's promotional video. A man with a magnetic voice began speaking as a visual appeared on the screen.

"It has been 1,500 years since our first spatial jump experiment.

"It has been 1,000 years since the first manned spatial jump.

"Over this past millennium, we have conducted hundreds of millions of spatial jumps, bringing human society closer together than ever before.

"Today, our Dimensional Modification Company is launching humanity's greatest invention—one that has only ever appeared in countless novels and movies: Spatial Storage Equipment.

"Here is a Blade Mecha, and this is the Spatial Storage button. Please watch closely."

In the video, someone was holding an object that looked just like a car key from Yang Bo's past life on Earth. It featured a crystal on top, with a red button on one side and a silver button on the other.

A hand pressed the silver button, and the Blade Mecha in the video instantly vanished.

"Some may doubt us. Some may claim this video is faked. Therefore, Dimension Company will publicly demonstrate this epoch-making invention for everyone at Dome Entertainment City," the voice announced over the introduction. As the speaker pressed the red button, the Mecha reappeared.

"Holy crap." Yang Bo was utterly stunned.

He then saw news reports showing that the area outside Dimensional Modification Company's exhibition hall was already packed with people, and the company's stock price was skyrocketing. Of course, there were also a few unfamiliar experts claiming that such technology was impossible.
