"Lin, Miss Lin?" Walter stared at the switch in shock, unsure of what to say. Should he ask what that thing was? Or had he witnessed something he shouldn't have?
Miss Lin, however, raised a finger to her lips.
"Shh..."
Walter immediately closed his mouth.
Soon after, he seemed to hear rustling sounds, starting from afar and growing closer, growing from small to large...
No, it wasn't an illusion! It was coming from above!
Walter lifted his head, looking fearfully at the ceiling... The sound of sand rolling was increasingly clear, like thousands of marching ants advancing, interspersed with occasional metallic clinks, crisp and loud.
This process lasted for about thirty seconds.
After the sound disappeared, the surroundings returned to silence, as if nothing had happened earlier.
But Walter knew... This wasn't the familiar experimental factory he knew anymore.
"Hmm, what is this place? It feels far inferior to the previous setup."
