Chapter 23 - Chapter 18: School, Part 2

Not only that, Yun Tianqi's father is disabled, and all the household expenses rely on his mother's hard work.

Yun Tianqi isn't a Martial Arts prodigy; his talent is at best above average, and on Awakening Day he only managed to refine a Sixth Grade Gale Mantis. After the college entrance exam, he didn't even get into any of the Nine Elite Joint Schools.

The reason Thunder Club spotted him and signed him, is all because of his blade—his blade is insanely fast.

Within the Glory Alliance, no one swings a blade faster than him!

His strength is the result of Thunder Club pumping tons of resources into him. The original Sixth Grade Gale Mantis also evolved into an Eighth Grade Ghost Shadow Mantis with help from the club.

Ghost Shadow Mantis is only an Eighth Grade Demon Spirit—within the Glory Alliance, where Ninth Grades are everywhere and even plenty of Earth Chart Demon Spirits, this level is honestly a bit weak.

But not all Demon Spirits are stronger the higher their grade; the right fit can unleash the greatest power.

Ghost Shadow Mantis is a Combat Type Demon Spirit, classified as Agile Attack Type. It doesn't have powerful Magic Series damage; it relies on ghostly speed and razor-sharp forelimbs to fight.

This sort of Eighth Grade Demon Spirit isn't rare, but only Yun Tianqi has truly pushed it to its limits. When he enters Demon Possession, those scythe-like forelimbs effectively become his weapons. With his Double Blade Technique, his attack speed gets even scarier; under that storm-like flurry of slashes, few can keep up with him.

Anyone who's watched Yun Tianqi fight basically becomes his fan, and he's the idol of countless students from ordinary families.

I've heard with his current popularity, even a single endorsement goes for five hundred million New Coin—a sky-high fee.

Along the way, nearly every building's light curtain is plastered with ads, many featuring Glory Players as spokespeople—it's totally trending now.

"Linli Station has arrived, prepare to get off."

After an hour and twenty minutes, as the announcement plays, the three quickly stand up, and follow the crowd off the bus, powerless to resist the rush and enveloped in a mix of smells.

"Phew…"

After getting off, they all let out a sigh of relief, tidied up their clothes in sync, gave each other a look and a nod, then hurried toward the school.

Half an hour later, the three finally reached their destination.

Lin Feng took out his phone and saw that it was already 7:50—only ten minutes left before class starts.

He'd gotten up at five, ate breakfast, and rushed out to school—it had taken him about two and a half hours.

"Bro, I see my classmates. I'll go ahead!" Lele called out, then dashed off after her friends.

"Don't mess around after school, come straight home."

Lin Feng shouted. He and his sister aren't in the same school; Lele's school, Ziwei First Middle School, is just near Jiangxin Middle School.

"Lin Feng, Big Head."

"Lin Feng, why do you look so pale?"

"I heard you got injured on Awakening Day—was it that serious?"

Just as they arrived at the school gate, classmates kept coming up to say hi.

In the past, people mostly chatted with Lin Feng—after all, his grades ranked around 500th in his year, and his combat power was even in the top 200. No matter what, he was kind of well-known.

But his sidekick, Gao Hai, was always in the background.

The class's impression of him was mostly: Lin Feng's sidekick, Lin Feng's deskmate, Lin Feng's best buddy.

But today, Lin Feng was the one getting ignored. Everyone was crowding around Gao Hai, chatting enthusiastically.

"Big Head, I heard you became a Demon Spirit Master—truly impressive!"

"Second Grade Strong Demon Bull, huh? It's just a low-level Demon Spirit with Strength attribute, no extra attribute damage, but making it as a Demon Spirit Master is already amazing."

"Big Head, show us your Demon Possession!"

The classmates' excitement made Gao Hai a bit uncomfortable; he smiled awkwardly, but you could tell he was loving it.

Not wanting to turn down their good intentions, Gao Hai closed his eyes and concentrated. After ten seconds or so, his nose started to swell, two blade-like bull horns sprouted from his forehead, his arms got thicker, and his body bulked up.

His uniform couldn't take the strain and began splitting, revealing a belly with a reddish copper sheen.

"Wow!"

A few girls shrieked with surprise. One short-haired girl even boldly stepped up and touched Big Head's horns, then mischievously squeezed his plump belly, startling Gao Hai so badly he stumbled backward, nearly falling.

"Haha."

The laughter died down after a bit, and Gao Hai soon exited Demon Possession mode.

With his Soul Power, Demon Possession only lasts a minute or two.

Refining a Demon Spirit doesn't mean you can fight right away.

At this stage, the Demon Spirit is just in its infancy—like a newborn, fragile and lacking combat power. It needs time and nourishment from Spiritual Power and Soul Power.

This takes a lot of resources and time, so even if you become a Demon Spirit Master, it doesn't mean you'll instantly be an expert.

Still, compared to Martial Artists, Demon Spirit Masters are the real stars. Wherever there's a newly awakened Demon Spirit Master, a crowd of classmates gathers. You could often see students entering Demon Possession, followed by waves of exclamations.

When Lin Feng and Zhou Sheng arrived at the classroom, half the class was crowded around one spot—Ya Ge's seat.

At this point, Ya Ge is definitely the celebrity of Senior 3, Class 7.

Even in Jiangxin Middle School, with 300,000 students, she's a well-known figure.

Eighth Grade Enchanting Butterfly, nearly as strong as a Ninth Grade Demon Spirit—she's already qualified for the Nine Elite Joint Schools.
