The female guard called Reya promptly bent over, "Yes, Miss."

Kari's gaze shifted and looked through the glazed glass window of the trading hall towards the distant darkness.
She couldn't hear any sounds, there was no light at all.
Yet it was like an abyss, wanting to swallow this territory whole.
In such a cold winter, Kari could easily have returned to the Brown Clan immediately after attending Yuna's coming-of-age ceremony.
But she didn't do that.
She instead changed direction and came to this southern borderland of the Karedi Empire—Lynn's territory.
Kari could clearly feel that a massive war was about to engulf the entire Karedi Empire.
Perhaps even such a borderland as Lynn's might find it hard to escape!
As for why she went to the trouble of delivering this intelligence to Lynn.
