Just after going upstairs, Li Ang bumped into Zoe hiding behind the corner.
"Did you hear everything?"
"Mm."
The young girl cautiously observed Li Ang. Sensing he wasn't displeased, she tentatively asked, "Are you going out?"
"I'm going out tonight, but don't worry, I'll be back by morning."
"And after that?"
She clasped her hands behind her back, looking down at the floor, her toes twisting on the ground back and forth.
Li Ang understood. It wasn't that she feared him going out at night, but that she was worried he might stop taking them with him once he started investigating Farina.
