Chapter 9 - Chapter 7: Spiritual Power Radar

If you were given a perspective that allows you to watch a pretty girl from every angle, without her noticing, would you use it to watch her shower?

Rose inherited everything from the game character, including his age, which made him appear to be thousands of years old, yet he was essentially no different in external interactions than before crossing over, with a mental age still as a young man full of vigor.

So, when he thought of Hilia showering, knowing he could watch anytime, he felt a twinge of excitement and unconsciously shaped the magic puppet he was toying with into Hilia's figure.

However, actually doing such a thing felt a bit shameful to him; peeking secretly seemed wrong, if one wanted to look, they should do it openly.

Since he decided not to look, what reason was there to peek?

"How about continuing to cultivate?"

Rose thought, then shook his head.

"Forget it, let's not cultivate. Who knows if closing my eyes might skip several years."

Having learned from Hilia that a thousand years had passed since he was sealed by the Twelve Main Gods, Rose was now hesitant to cultivate randomly, worried about opening his eyes next time, only to find Hilia turned to dust.

Unable to sense the passage of time within the seal, Rose only managed to attach an electronic display screen to the puppet before him to show the passage of time.

After about 30 minutes, he reconnected with Hilia, first confirming through her eyes that she was not in the bathroom.

But Hilia's eyes were half-closed, unable to observe around, so Rose had to use a bit of spiritual power to sense.

"Just sensing the surrounding area a little shouldn't be detectable by other gods, unless they enter my spiritual power range," Rose thought.

He did not hide his arrival, causing Hilia to quickly realize Rose was back.

"Good night, Lord God."

Hilia already put on a nightgown, blue and white with a hat bearing two rabbit-like long ears, indistinct in animal resemblance, yet decidedly cute upon donning the hat.

At the moment, she yawned repeatedly, her eyes and the nightgown's ears drooped together.

She placed her books neatly, sleepily approaching the bed, instantly asleep upon contact.

"That's some quality sleep."

Using spiritual power, Rose noticed a clock on the wall, checking the time.

2 AM.

"No wonder… it's that late already."

Seeing Hilia unconscious, Rose began trying some things.

For instance, attempting to output more spiritual power, causing sleeping Hilia to immediately show a pained expression, making him stop hastily.

"Alas, this girl is too weak, unable to withstand high spiritual power input—soul crossover won't work."

He intended to slowly transfer spiritual power here, then directly form a soul body to explore this world first; unfortunately, Hilia's insufficient power thwarted this.

"Even with spiritual probing, the range only covers a maximum radius of about five meters—how to expand this scope?"

The radius limits to ten meters are too small, unable to detect anything; relying solely on Hilia's eyes to observe this world imposes heavy limitations.

Not his own eyes, unnatural to look through.

"Is there a way to expand the probe range without increasing spiritual power strength?"

Rose controlled the probe's scope flexibly, exploring beyond round shapes into rectangles and squares...

Suddenly, he had a flash of inspiration.

"Got it!"

Through robust spiritual control skills, Rose condensed the probing spiritual power into a narrow wave under 10cm in width, about 10m in height, extending outward, stopping finally at about 500m.

Afterwards, he let this spiritual probe "wall" make a round around Hilia as the center, encompassing everything within a radius of 500 meters into his mind.

He executed this carefully, fearing detection by the Divine King or Twelve Main Gods, but upon scanning, found none, not even a trace of any god, only ordinary mages' power fluctuations.

Probing around with the spiritual wall, scanning both above and below, found nothing.

Sometimes flying devices passed overhead, the ground... soil too thick, spiritual power not strong enough, unable to penetrate.

"The limits are too substantial; this scanning method only senses the mage's magic power fluctuations, deducing presence or hostility without seeing the actual scene—only narrowing the surrounding scope provides concrete environmental sense."

Upon pondering, Rose altered the spiritual shape from a rectangular block to a radar-like cone spread, viewing further distant content.

Despite the large constraints frustrating, Rose still enthusiastically utilized spiritual power to repetitively scan the surroundings, reinforcing impressions.

Though not without boredom, principally because Rose dared not sleep now, fearing he might sleep for millennia like those immortal species; since he didn't require sleep, better further develop Hilia's side.

The next morning, accompanied by the bracelet's vibration, Hilia tiredly opened her eyes.

Last night stayed up too late, not a restful sleep.

A sleepy girl sat up, rubbed her eyes, yawned, the pajamas' hood slipped from messy hair to her back, revealing the girl's fair neck entirely.

The cold air across her neck made Hilia shiver, promptly pulling at her pajamas, covering her neck, but as the hood was too big, it kept tugging the clothing back she had to slightly tilt back, then thrust forward, regaining hood placement atop her head, its ears just blocking her eyes.

"Ugh... still sleepy."

"Good morning, Hilia," Rose greeted casually.

The sudden voice shook Hilia awake, causing her to swiftly glance around while her hood's ears swayed with her motions.

Moments later realizing it was Rose's voice.

The sleepiness mostly dissipated, she became alert and somewhat restrained: "Good morning, Lord Evil God."

Rose rolled his eyes, "Why does your address keep changing?"

"Then... what should I call you?"

"Whatever, call me however you like."

Hilia parted her lips, eventually didn't dwell on this matter further, rubbed her eyes, forced herself alert, about to get up, suddenly blushed.

Perplexed by this, Rose heard Hilia whisper: "Um, Lord Rose, I... I need to change clothes."

"Ah, thought it was something—simple, just change with eyes closed, I can only view the world through your eyes."

Exiting Hilia's Spiritual Space to re-enter involved some time, Rose found cumbersome, simply gathered his spiritual power, which only disabled the display, without switching off the link.

"I see."

Hilia felt something shatter inwardly.

Oh, it's the Evil God's mystique.

Turns out even Evil God isn't omniscient and omnipotent.

Hilia found clothes, changed with eyes closed, then reopened them.

She put on the same black and white corset dress from before, adjusted the corset in front of a mirror, then tidied, combed her hair, taking around ten minutes to prepare herself, then took "Holy Word" and "Magic Overview" leaving the dormitory.

A bit sleepy but still energetic.

"Today's weather is nice, another hopeful day."
