Chapter 99 - CHAPTER 11: GUESS WHO'S BACK?

The rooftop was silent, wrapped in the humid night air that blanketed Shibuya like a suffocating veil.

Then came the chanting.

An old woman stood at the center of a crude, blood-drawn circle. Her hands were gnarled like ancient roots, and her eyes gleamed with twisted excitement. Despite her shriveled appearance, she radiated potent cursed energy.

She wasn't human.

She wasn't even close.

This old woman was a curse—a necromancer of sorts—feeding off death and channeling cursed souls into new vessels.

Before her, a corpse lay motionless. It was the body of the old curse spirit that Megumi and Itadori had just exorcised.

Its shell was still usable.

Still warm.

Still full of potential.

"Come forth, warrior of carnage. Let the soul of a butcher walk again in flesh."

She slammed her hands onto the floor.

The circle glowed red. Wind spiraled unnaturally.

From the sky, thunder cracked—not because of weather, but because of the cursed ritual that warped reality.

Then—a pulse.

The corpse twitched.

And then—

A voice.

"…Tch."

"…So noisy."

The old woman gasped, stumbling back.

That was not the curse she had summoned.

Before her, the eyes that opened were not dazed or searching.

They were sharp.

Focused.

Deadly.

The figure sat up—slowly, calmly, but with overwhelming pressure.

A man. Muscular. WHITE SHIRT. Hair spiked. His aura was suffocating even without cursed energy.

Because he had none.

But his presence alone tore the air apart.

"…It's good to be back," the man said, rolling his shoulder. "Been a while."

The old woman trembled. "Wh… Who are you…? This isn't the spirit—!"

The man looked at her, and for a brief second, a grin split his face.

"Toji Fushiguro."

He cracked his neck to the left, then the right.

Then he moved.

In a single, blinkless instant, his fist met the curse woman's face.

Her body exploded into the air like a missile, slamming into the rooftop edge, bones cracking like dried sticks.

Toji appeared beside her before she landed. He grabbed her neck and looked her dead in the eyes.

"I don't take orders," he said, grinning again.

And with one final jerk—he crushed her throat.

Her body fell limp.

Toji stood there, alive again. No cursed contracts. No deals. No strings.

Just one man.

One monster.

Reborn.

He walked to the rooftop edge and looked over Shibuya.

The chaos, the screaming, the flashing lights.

He licked his lips.

"Now then… who's gonna entertain me this time?"

He vanished.
