After all these mysterious and unbelievable activities, there was a lot coming towards seven friends. The moment when Vinay kept the phone back on the dusty receiver, a cold silence filled the lobby. No one moved from their place; it felt like the entire hotel was holding back its breath, listening to the fear.
Vinay's hands were still on the phone, and it was shaking. Rhea looked at Vinay's shaking hands and asked, "What happened, Vinay? Are you all right? Why is your hand shaking?"
Vinay replied in a normal way, "Yeah, I am alright. This floor is very cold; that's why my hand was shaking, but now see, it isn't shaking." "Harsh?" asked Vinay. "What did he say? Did he tell you how to get out from here?" Vinay said, "Nothing, he was saying stupid things." Vivek stepped closer and said, "Tell us the truth." They all knew that Vinay was lying. They also heard the voice and the laugh, and it was still echoing in their mind. Meenal anxiously said, "He said on the phone that one of us is not real. What does that mean?" Riya said, "Don't say this. He must be playing with our minds."
Then Harsh said, "I don't agree with this. I think the one who called knows us and also all the mysteries about this hotel." Dev said in a loud voice, "Are you guys mad? Don't you guys have a little bit of sense?" Everyone was shocked by the sudden change in behavior of Dev. Harsh asked Dev, "What happened, Dev? What are you saying like this?" Dev said, "Don't you guys see how old that phone is? How can it still work? See, there is a thick layer of dust that has covered the keypad. And look at that half-broken desk and this lobby; it seems no one has come here for more than a decade. The spirits are just trying to play mind games with us."
Vivek rubbed his hands, trying to warm himself, and said, "Let's get out of here; standing here is not going to help us." But as they turned, the entire corridor behind them seemed shorter. Narrower, like the walls had moved in while they weren't looking. Rhea said, "Guys, don't you all think that the corridor has become a little bit shorter than before?"
Dev said, "How could that be possible, Rhea? It's just a mind game that the spirits or whoever is in the hotel are trying to play with us; don't pay too much attention to that." They started moving forward to get the exit door. Vinay walked behind them quietly. The corridor felt endless; their footsteps echoed softly. All of the friends heard the sound of the telephone kept on the half-broken desk. As they turned behind, they all were shocked because the length of the corridor now was even less; they saw that the half-broken desk was just behind them. Rhea said, "Dev, do you think now that I was correct when I said that the walls have moved in?"
Dev, who was standing next to her in a state of disbelief at what had just happened, said, "Yeah, you were correct. I didn't notice at that time and shouted at you. I am sorry." "But, we have to get out of here; otherwise, we'll all be stuck in this for life, or maybe someone will kill us."
Vivek saw that there is a door, and on the top it is written "EXIT." As soon as he saw the exit door, he told all his friends about that door. All of the friends were very happy except Vinay. Vinay was standing quiet with no emotions on his face. Rhea asked Vinay, "Vinay, are you all right?"
Vinay said, "Yeah, I am alright," in a low voice. Vivek said, "Why are you saying it like this? You should feel relief that we finally found the exit door." Vinay said, "Yeah, I am glad that we actually found the exit door," with no expression on his face.
Harsh whispered in Rhea's ears, "I think something is wrong with Vinay because he hasn't behaved like this before." Rhea also agreed with Harsh and said, "Yeah, you are correct. He is behaving differently since he talked to someone on the telephone." All of the friends went near that exit door; they tried to open the door, but this door was stronger than the door that was on the 7th floor.
Meenal saw a painting on the wall that was hung next to the door. In that painting there were seven people. The faces of 6 persons were covered with black cloth, but the 7th person, whose face was at the last, his face was not covered with anything; his face was recognizable, and the face that was not covered was of VINAY. All of the 6 friends were stunned after seeing suddenly; they heard the evil laugh of someone from behind. When they turned behind, they saw that it was Vinay who was laughing like that; his eyes were bloody red, and his face was white.
Suddenly he started groaning in anger. Dev saw now the exit door was slightly open; he told this to all his friends. All 6 friends exited from that place, and when they turned back, they saw that Vinay was still laughing, and this time all 7 spirits, which they saw earlier, were also standing with him.
They started singing, "You all will die as we did, screaming in the halls where truth hid." The door automatically closed; they saw that it was a huge statue of Lord Shiva. All six friends bowed down to him and started crying and thanking him for saving their lives. Later they saw that they were in the hotel garden area, and there were a lot of people there.
