P.S.: TO BLEAP, Nah MAN, OF COURSE IT'S NOT CANON.
***
Gilgamesh had left the boy to walk alone to school as the moment they were about to reach the orphanage he felt the presence of a bounded field not far in the distance.
He went ahead by himself and after parking the car he noticed that the bounded field was surrounding an entire middle school. It was made from a silk like thread that was so thin it would be impossible for normal people to see without a microscope.
He decided to remain there on one of the rooftops of a building not far off from the school and see if something interesting popped out and it kind of did.
As judging from the boy approaching the building this must have been his school.
Fortunately for him, due to the scarf being inside his bag he was invisible as far as the bounded field was concerned.
"Should I stop him?" Gilgamesh pondered if he should take the kid with him now. After all, as soon as the kid got even at just half a meter of distance from his bag the bounded field would spot him.
And an event like that was downright terrifying for any magus, and after such a scary thing appearing out nowhere they are bound to act violent, especially because the boy who now has his magic circuits activated would stand out from all other humans inside for the owner of the bounded field, making them think that a magus is attacking.
"I could always save him anyway so it's not really a problem. I might even try to teach him something with this." Taking a chair out of his treasury Gilgamesh prepared himself to enjoy the show that would unfold. He was such a genius teacher.
He waited as the lessons started and overheard something funny from his ears. The little girl who controlled a few homunculus had set up a ritual in the school gym. She put the entire school into a massive suggestive spell and when gathered in the gym their group works would become a ritual to accumulate the excess magical energy from all the more than four hundred students in the school.
It wasn't a harmful ritual for anybody but the little excesses of that number of people would still amount to more than a fairly decent amount of magical energy for a master who needs to feed a Servant.
'She hasn't really done anything to get on my nerves yet but I am getting bored and I kind of want to see what the kid will do in a situation like this. Though I guess I will need to give him some help.'
He waited for a few hours and prepared to enjoy the show, until he would have to step in of course.
Soon lunch break came and indeed as the boy went to have lunch he didn't bring his bag with him. He was approached by one of the homunculus to try and gather information peacefully first.
"Who's this goody two shoes? I didn't come here to watch him make friends now, did I?" Banging his fist on the table he took out to have a refreshment he complained about the girl being unluckily a bit too level headed.
In the end he ordered the boy to just kill the homunculus. The series of events continued in a pursuit for the kid.
And it was going along well, the boy didn't hesitate to follow a single one of his orders, it was almost like he had a string to directly control him.
Because he didn't question anything and just did exactly as he was told he was able to perform astonishingly well, counting that a single one of those homunculus could easily turn him into minced meat.
However the problem came when Gilgamesh took the situation too lightly, he was being too laid back in predicting his enemies' moves as he was only looking over the school with his portentous eye sight, but he couldn't read people's mind and predict all their decision with that, especially now that the most important aspect of his eyes was not working.
So he gave one fairly vague call out. However, the reason the boy was performing so well was because he followed commands to the letter so a vague one left him dubious on where to go to dodge.
'Well, it's not unrecoverable but from now on it will be mostly up to luck but I guess it's time to push his buttons a bit. I will save him when he is just about to kick the bucket.'
He reassured the kid shortly and told me to take some breath first before continuing with his instructions.
[Listen here little mongrel, they are both too fast and too strong for you to defeat head on. If you reached your bag it might have been different but now it's too late to cry over spilled milk. A confrontation with them is now inevitable in this position, so we will make some sacrifices.]
[...How do I do that?] The kid's voice had a somber tone than usual.
'Mhhh? Curious reaction.' Gilgamesh smiled curiously at his reaction.
[See that fire extinguisher that got knocked down not far away from your feet?]
[Yes.]
[Use your reinforcement spell on it and then overload it to make the tank explode.]
[...I-I don't know how to do that.]
'That's right you don't and that's why I'm asking you to do that. So you can fail in a pressing moment.'
[...Then figure it out. Or else…] Gilgamesh said before pausing briefly to create a more dramatic sense of foreboding.
Before continuing with an extremely cold tone. [...you will die.]
Not that he actually would as soon as he was going to meet any real danger Gilgamesh was going to interfere.
The boy panted heavily as he clearly had no idea what to do. He picked up and reinforced the extinguisher but obviously it was not going to work. The one with the sword took that as a signal and attacked first.
He told the kid how to avoid the blow and as a good little marionette he dodged spectacularly despite barely being able to follow her movement with his eyes.
But dodging one attack thanks to his advice was the best he could afford to do, he wouldn't be able to dodge the kick that was about to hit him.
And indeed he didn't.
[The other one is aiming for your head.]
Gilgamesh warned, though he was already standing ready to intercept the attack by activating a long distance defensive barrier around the boy with a staff from his treasury.
However, the situation unexpectedly reversed.
Gilgamesh could see the boy's magic circuits working overtime to connect more circuits than he ever did before to the fire extinguisher in his hand, it was the method he allegedly learned from that Senpai he claimed to have met.
And the tank exploded sending the pressurized contents of gas straight in the homunculus' gut, making her take quite the flight.
At that Gilgamesh gasped in surprise before smiling heartily.
'I guess it was too early to say he was out of the game, huh.'
[Brilliant work brat. Now run downstairs we need to pick a few objects to use as a distraction for them.]
[...There's no need. I already have everything that I need.]
'...…..Did he just talk back? To me?' Gilgamesh couldn't believe what he just heard.
The boy did respond in ways that often irritated or took him aback, but that was mostly due to the way he took things. Now he straight talked back to what he said.
However before he could think more about it Gilgamesh was brought out of his thoughts by seeing the sword wielding homunculus charging at him, readying for a thrust.
[Don't just stand there, the one with the sword is coming for you, she's aiming for your heart. Run to your left.] He quickly gave him directions on how to avoid the threat however–
[No, I think I can block it.]
[What?]
–he talked back again. 'Wait, this attitude feels familiar somehow...'
Gilgamesh shook those thoughts away and looked back at the scene ready to save the kid but he did something unthinkable.
In magecraft there are many deciding factors when two spells collide.
Whatever it's synergy of the clashing spells or the timing they are used at there are various factors to keep account of, but there is one that reigned above them all.
The mystery.
Mystery granted a metaphysical weight to a spell.
And when mysteries clashed then in nine cases out of ten the oldest one always won.
That was because the more the mystery the higher the generated metaphysical weight. When the two mysteries clashed and if the difference in their imaginary mass wasn't too far off from each other then the lighter one still had a fighting chance.
However when the difference of metaphysical was enormous no amount of tactics or synergy could save the lighter one from being crushed under the massive weight of the other. Because the moment they met the one with the least amount of mass would be instantly nullified or rather the more accurate term would be that it would cave in on itself.
The clothes the kid was wearing were normally part of the single case where even a younger mystery could stand a chance to win the confrontation despite coming from his treasury. It was only a school uniform he made on the go without using any extraordinary material to not make him excessively stand out.
So when faced with something like a vorpal blade, which weakened striked targets and especially one made by an apparently extremely skilled magus as well, then the fabric was bound to be torn apart.
That was the case even with the boy using reinforcement. His mastery of the spell was still not good enough to create enough metaphysical weight to win this confrontation.
So whatever intentionally or not he instead elevated the power of his strike by one level.
The jacket in his hand broke through the blade and struck the surprised homunculus in the face. The jacket glowed at the moment of impact and exploded, sending the girl crashing into the wall.
It was essentially the phenomenon known as broken phantasm, he packed the jacket with magical energy and his will to recreate something similar to his previous stunt made it blow in a similar fashion to the fire extinguisher but much stronger.
However..
"That fabric still belonged to me, mongrel…"
***
CRUSH
My fist collided with the girl's face before the jacket exploded hurling her away.
DROP DROP
My hand hurt and I could feel the heat on my skin as blood dripped from my knuckles.
[Why did you disobey me?] Gilgamesh's voice echoed in my head and I could feel his tone was full of "displeasure".
That's right…why was I so insistent on not listening to him this time? I could have just told him my idea while running. [...I'm sorry.]
In the end all I could do was apologize.
[It's fine. Now make a run for it before the other one gets up.] Gilgamesh's voice sounded quite "calm" now.
I followed his advice and ran down the stairs as I couldn't jump over the hole on the first floor like the two girls did. So I had to pick another flight of stairs.
[However, seeing as you want to fight then fight we shall. From now on my advices will be based on the premise that you will fight back, is that clear?]
[Yes…I will do my best.] It was too late to change my decisions so I just followed along with it.
I ran aiming for the next closest staircase, it was the one Gilgamesh made me avoid before. Apparently, it was now clear.
I could hear hurried steps coming from the distance, the drumstick girl must be following me.
[If you want to use your clothes as explosives then you must be smart with it, you are not strong enough to tear the fabric so you will have to use the whole pieces but you would end up butt naked and without weapons if you are careless.]
Indeed. I had one shirt, one undershirt, one belt, one pair of trousers and two socks. My pair of shoes wasn't gonna be of use as they were in the locker and I was wearing the school's indoor shoes.
They totaled up to six attacks at most.
I was about to reach the stairs but the girl had already caught up to me, her speed was much superior to mine.
[Move your head to the right and reinforce the shirt but don't make it explode!]
SHIIII
Four circuits connected to the shirt and I did as he told me and from behind my back I was hit on my left shoulder.
It hurt but the shockwaves spreading through my body didn't feel as strong as when I stopped it with the broomstick. I fell to the ground before she tried hitting me in the head but thanks to Gilgamesh telling me in advance I managed to cover my head with both my arms.
CRACK
'In hindsight I should have rolled down my sleeves when I was running.'
My left forearm bruised purple after taking the hit, I have no idea how my arm didn't get snapped in half by the strength of the blow. The shockwave cracked the nearby window making shards of glass fall to the ground.
"Ahset netjeret sedjem"
[Jump back up to your right! Now!]
FLASH
BAANG
I threw myself on my right at his words, this time the girl didn't use her drumstick. A flash of light hit the ground like a bullet instead. If that hit me I would have probably died.
[Don't worry she can't use it another time for a while, concentrate. Your chance is coming now.]
The girl was already in front of me as she swung her stick to my flank with her right hand, her left hand hanging limply for some reason.
THWAAK
[Now! Aim for her eyes.]
SPLUUT
I stuck both my fingers inside her eyes before taking them back, however her eyeballs didn't plop. They were extremely hard, the most I managed was blinding her for a second but that was enough.
I grabbed a big glass shard from the floor and did the only thing I could do at that moment.
Stab her eyes again.
SPURRRRT
They were pretty hard but a reinforced glass shard did the job, apparently.
[Now push her down kid, it's your chance to finish the job. Use the belt.]
I hastily removed my belt and tackled her to the floor.
I kicked her drumstick and wrapped the belt around my injured right fist and reinforced it.
[Go for it, aim at her face, kid.]
THWAAK
[Again.]
THWAAK
[Again.]
THWAAK
[Again.]
THWAAK
[Again.]
THWAAK
[Again.]
THWAAK
Her face was becoming a bloodier and bloodier mess with each hit, my hand was also starting to feel a bit numb.
[Finish Her!!!]
SHIIIII
CRACK
The belt exploded, caving her head in and making hand bleed even more. I think I broke a lot of bones in my hand too.
"You bastard." I was interrupted by a girl's voice that came from the staircase.
Turning around I could see a girl whose appearance didn't resemble the other ones I fought previously apart from the slightly similar color of their hair but hers were a much darker purple.
She was around my age, maybe slightly older than me, dressed in a purple white uniform, wearing a graduation cap and monocle.
"Are you the kind of man that would hit a girl without a second thought?"
"Yes."
[Yes.]
