Chapter 323 - Chapter 323: Preparing Treasures Before the Tournament

Although the Zongheng Championship was the grandest and highest-level Trainer competition in the League, Lin Feng felt that it might still be somewhat beneath Gardevoir's level.

In a sense, Gardevoir's strength was already comparable to that of certain legendary Pokémon.

After Mega Evolution, her energy level could even approach that of Alola's guardian deities.

On top of that, she had eaten several dishes that provided powerful enhancement effects.

"Gardevoir… do you really want to go?" Lin Feng swallowed and asked again, still a little uncertain.

Gardevoir stretched lazily and replied in a relaxed tone, "Gardevoir~" (I just want to go watch.)

She had been staying at home for a long time, making energy cubes and cooking meals for everyone every day.

Now that she finally had some free time, she happened to see the conversation between Lin Feng and Feng Yang on Rotom's screen. Learning that the Zongheng Championship was the highest-level Trainer competition in the Eastern region had sparked her curiosity.

"Well… that's fine."

What Lin Feng originally wanted to say was that, with her strength, going there would probably be like fishing in a pond, easily defeating weaker opponents.

But the words stuck in his throat and he paused.

The Eastern region was vast, and extraordinary trainers could appear anywhere. This championship would gather most of the region's talented trainers together.

Perhaps something unexpected might happen.

Besides, what was wrong with Gardevoir wanting to go?

If she wanted to go, then they would go.

Who cared whether she swept through the entire championship?

Thinking of it this way, Lin Feng suddenly felt much more relaxed.

Since they had already decided to go, the next step was to ask who else wanted to participate.

With that thought, Lin Feng immediately began reviewing the energy levels of the Pokémon currently in the room.

Gardevoir: 94–96

Serperior: 62–64

Milotic: 59

Blaziken: 60–62

Butterfree: 41–44

Primarina: 45–47

Alolan Ninetales: 61–64

Dragonite: 75–78

Goodra: 64–67

And the Staraptor outside.

Even the largest Staraptor had already reached level 57–59.

These were the Pokémon Lin Feng believed were capable of competing in the Zongheng Championship.

Then his gaze drifted to the small dollop of cream sitting on the sofa.

An Alcremie.

Its level appeared to be around 39.

Although its energy wasn't especially strong, its Metronome could occasionally produce surprising results.

Meanwhile, the Miltank produced milk every day, but she also consumed energy cubes daily. Because of that, her energy level wasn't low either.

The most productive one had already reached level 51–53.

"Alright, let's gather everyone and ask!"

Without overthinking it, Lin Feng immediately called all the Pokémon together and explained the situation.

"I'm in!" Alolan Ninetales was the first to express her desire to go.

"Alright." Lin Feng nodded with a smile.

Ever since encountering Rayquaza, Ninetales had grown more interested in these kinds of activities.

"Chamo?" (Will the event last several days?)

Blaziken was more concerned about that.

Although Lin Feng always prepared delicious food when they traveled, it still couldn't compare to meals at home.

Still, traveling outside sounded fun.

"Probably three or four days," Lin Feng replied after recalling previous Zongheng Championships.

"Chamo!" (Then I'm going too!)

Next, Lin Feng looked at Milotic and Primarina.

Primarina clearly shook her head and retreated back into the aquarium.

Milotic, however, hesitated this time.

"Milotic, what's wrong?" Lin Feng asked curiously.

"Yuu…"

Milotic swam around the tank before pressing her face gently against the glass.

She expressed her thoughts.

"You want to go out and play, but you're not really interested in fighting?"

Lin Feng chuckled softly. "Of course that's fine."

Butterfree shook her head and flew back into her glass enclosure.

She wasn't interested in these things. Her original dream had simply been not to get eaten and to have enough food.

Among Lin Feng's Pokémon, she had perhaps the most easygoing personality.

"Serperior, what about you?" Lin Feng asked.

"Show show~"

Serperior lightly brushed against Lin Feng's hand.

This was something she had been looking forward to for a long time.

"Moo~"

Miltank indicated that she would rather stay home and continue producing milk.

She had never experienced battle before.

The large Staraptor, who had shrunk himself to fit inside the room, nodded.

His thought was simple. On the battlefield, he would carve out territory for his trainer.

Dragonite and Goodra were both eager as well.

Dragonite remembered the previous defensive battle.

Goodra recalled the Youth Cup and that giant opponent. It had looked exciting.

The Alcremie that had been asked kept tapping its tiny hands together.

She shyly asked, "Alcremie?" (Can I go too?)

"If you want to go, then come along. Don't be nervous." Lin Feng gently patted her little head.

Alcremie smiled brightly.

"Alright then. The final lineup for the Zongheng Championship will be Gardevoir, Dragonite, Goodra, Alolan Ninetales, Serperior, Blaziken, Staraptor, and Milotic. Anyone who wants to watch can come along!"

Lin Feng quickly finalized the roster.

Although there were eight Pokémon in total, the final stage of the Zongheng Championship was a six-versus-six battle.

However, throughout the tournament Pokémon could be swapped freely.

As long as the number of Pokémon on the field followed the rules and they belonged to the trainer, it was acceptable.

"Chamo!"

Hearing this, Blaziken's eyes widened. He looked back and forth between Lin Feng and Gardevoir in disbelief.

Was Gardevoir really going to compete?

Lin Feng understood Blaziken's confusion and explained, "Yes, Gardevoir is going too. We don't have much going on lately anyway."

"Chamo!"

Blaziken ran in circles around Gardevoir, shocked that she actually wanted to fight.

With her strength, battling in this tournament would practically be bullying children.

"Gardevoir…"

Watching Blaziken run around her, Gardevoir wiped imaginary sweat from her forehead.

"Gardevoir~?" (Stop spinning, please.)

He was making her dizzy.

"Chamo…"

Blaziken immediately calmed down.

Since the decision had been made, Lin Feng began replying to Feng Yang.

[Lin Feng: I will participate in the Zongheng Championship this year. What evaluations or procedures are required? Are there any conditions?]

As far as Lin Feng knew, the Zongheng Championship was different from ordinary competitions.

Trainers usually needed a certain number of badges to qualify.

Feng Yang quickly replied.

[Feng Yang: Good. If you're participating, I'll register you myself. You don't need badges.]
