Chapter 170 - Chapter 171 – The Pleasure of Crushing a Genius

"Did he just say Logia-type Devil Fruit?"

"What?! That brat actually ate the Thunder-Thunder Fruit? That's the one they say has the strongest offensive power among all Logia fruits!"

"Unbelievable luck! If that fruit ever went to auction, it'd sell for tens of billions of Berries at least!"

"I thought Devil Fruits were worth, like, a hundred million?"

"You idiot! That depends on the type! This is a Logia fruit—the most destructive of them all! The Thunder-Thunder Fruit alone could fetch tens of billions!"

The crowd around gasped and whispered in disbelief, unable to take their eyes off the boy sparking with electricity.

Rozwald's expression twisted with fury. "Number One! What are you doing? Do you want to die? Kill him already! Don't tell me you can't even handle a brat!"

So what if he was a Logia user? Rozwald didn't care. What he wanted was simple: to see Rosinante's subordinate dead. In fact, if that subordinate happened to be a rare Logia user, all the better—it would make the victory even sweeter.

"Saint Rozwald, please rest assured," Bewick said with an ugly grin, though a hint of jealousy flickered in his eyes. "So what if he's a Logia user? At the end of the day, he's just a snot-nosed kid. I was careless before, but now I'll end him."

Yes, he was shocked that the boy had eaten a Thunder-Thunder Fruit—a fruit said to have the highest attack potential among all Logias. But to Bewick, that didn't make him invincible.

A Logia user? Sure. But still just a ten-something-year-old boy. Elementalization, lightning speed—it all meant nothing if you didn't know how to fight.

In the first half of the Grand Line, Logia users were treated like walking gods. But in the New World? The "invincible" Logias were jokes. Out there, anyone worth their salt had mastered Armament Haki—the power that could strike even an element.

And Bewick, a captain with a bounty of 230 million Berries, was no exception.

If this boy thought being a Logia user made him untouchable, then he was about to learn the truth the hard way.

A cold grin spread across Bewick's lips. "Don't get cocky, brat. You think just because you got lucky with a rare fruit, you're unbeatable? Don't forget—I'm not one of those weaklings who fall apart at the sight of a Logia."

Truth be told, Bewick's heart twisted with envy. His own Devil Fruit—the Bear-Bear Fruit, Model: Battle Bear—was powerful, yes, but nowhere near as terrifying as a Logia. And this kid—this lucky little punk—had eaten the most destructive fruit in existence.

With the Thunder-Thunder Fruit and a bit of training, he could easily grow into an Admiral-class monster one day.

An Admiral! A dream Bewick had chased his whole life through blood and death, clawing for survival in the New World, never even daring to imagine he could reach that level.

And this brat got to take a shortcut.

Unforgivable.

"I'm curious to see how you plan to defeat me," Enel said with that same insufferably smug smile, arms crossed as sparks danced lazily around him.

Bewick's teeth ground together. "We'll see who's smiling in a minute!"

He roared and charged, his massive bear paw gleaming black with Armament Haki. "Armament Haki!"

"Oh? Armament Haki?" Enel smirked. "How enviable. My body's still growing—I can't even form it yet." His tone was pure mockery, his grin wide and unbothered.

With a small tilt of his body, he slipped effortlessly past Bewick's massive strike.

"Then take this! Battle Bear's Furious Strike!" Bewick roared, twisting around with startling agility for someone his size.

His claws extended, slicing through the air in a blur. Razor-sharp wind pressure erupted from the strike, forming multiple slashing arcs that ripped toward Enel like blades.

Bewick's grin turned savage. Let's see you smirk when you're in pieces.

Even a prodigy, even a Logia user, was just potential before they grew up. Potential didn't mean power.

The arcs of air struck Enel dead-on. A moment later, Bewick's Armament-infused paw followed through, ready to smash the boy into dust.

A sick pleasure twisted Bewick's face. To kill a genius—to crush one—was exhilarating. There was no greater joy than watching a future monster die before he ever reached his prime.

But just as his paw was about to land, Enel vanished.

Gone.

"Is that the strength of a New World pirate captain?" Enel's voice came lazily from behind him. "How disappointing. Seems the New World isn't all that impressive after all."

Bewick's heart froze. He spun around, eyes wide—and there Enel was, smirking, lightning flickering faintly across his body.

"N-No way! Impossible!" Bewick's voice cracked. How? He'd attacked with full force—using Haki! How could the kid have dodged it so easily?

Panic flashed in his eyes as he swung his massive arms again and again, claws tearing through the air in a flurry of deadly strikes. His movements were surprisingly quick, precise—almost elegant.

He really did look like a martial artist in the body of a bear.

"Well, I'll give you this," Enel said, his tone infuriatingly calm. "You don't fight like a dumb bear. You've got quite the flair for… circus tricks."

Electricity crackled along his skin as he effortlessly weaved through Bewick's attacks, his grin widening with every dodge.

He was toying with him.

And everyone watching could feel it—the deadly, arrogant confidence of someone who already believed himself a god.
