When Demigra saw the footage his spy in the Time Nest had sent back, he crushed the crystal goblet in his hand with a single squeeze. He flew into a rage.
"Damn it! The intel was wrong. Chronoa's power wasn't weakened at all. The Time Nest is even harder to break into now!"
Restless and agitated, he paced a few steps inside his palace.
"No… I need answers. Immediately."
With that, Demigra summoned his staff and contacted his subordinate.
A woman with sea-blue long hair appeared inside the crystal ball at the staff's tip.
"Lord Demigra?"
"Investigate the cause of the anomaly in the Time Nest at once. I want to know exactly what happened to Chronoa."
"Yes! I'll start by investigating those who joined the Time Nest recently…"
"Good. Robelu… don't disappoint me."
Ripples spread across the crystal ball, and the image faded away.
Demigra narrowed his eyes, thinking.
"The plan to raid the Time Nest has to change. Looks like the Dark Dragon Balls can't be delayed any longer…"
…
In an unknown stretch of cosmic space, as time passed, Levos's conversion of divine power steadily fell into rhythm. It was still a long, long way from draining the Gods of Destruction dry, but the risk of Cell Max being overfilled and detonating was basically gone.
Everything was stabilizing. Divine power still overflowed, but Cell Max's tolerance rose slightly as his cells continued to shift toward divinity.
And if things ever got tight again, Levos could carefully dump a bit into Chronoa nearby to relieve the emergency. He even still had the Potara fusion earrings as a last-ditch failsafe…
"This girl's got some nerve. How is she sleeping at a time like this?"
Levos stared at Chronoa, who was hugging Cell Max's massive foot and sleeping like a rock. He was speechless.
He'd originally wanted to ask her about this place, to confirm whether it was actually safe.
According to Chronoa, this was a timeline on the verge of vanishing.
That was not good news.
Who knew when the entire world might collapse without warning?
"Whatever. If she wants to sleep, let her sleep. There's a fountain in the courtyard. If danger comes, I can wake her up in a second…"
Still, being stuck in a lonely, empty universe was boring.
Maintaining the divine-ki conversion only required a small sliver of his focus now. So while flipping through other sections of Origin of the Gods, Levos began wandering around this world.
"Sigh… there's truly nothing alive."
At his current level, his aura-sense could cover dozens of starfields. And yet this entire space was a barren wasteland. Not a single living creature.
He stopped relying on aura-sense altogether and started using Instant Transmission at random, blinking from place to place with no destination in mind.
After drifting like that for over half a month, he finally found something.
Somewhere in the cosmos, he discovered a shattered region of space. Bottomless black-hole whirlpools were everywhere, swallowing planetary dust like an endless mouth. It looked like a battlefield after a cataclysm.
"The leftover aura is still tearing at the entire battlefield… could this be… a fight between Gods of Destruction?"
Now that he'd learned how to convert divine power, Levos's perception of divine ki had become far sharper and clearer.
This residual aura felt a bit like Champa's.
If it were one of the nine Gods of Destruction he'd already absorbed, Levos could confirm the owner instantly by aura alone.
He even started thinking about how he could trick Champa over someday and "take a sip" too, just to deepen his understanding of a Destroyer's body structure.
And if he wanted to confirm whether this lingering aura belonged to Champa…
It actually didn't seem hard.
A new idea suddenly clicked in Levos's mind.
He closed his eyes, calmed his thoughts, and concentrated, searching for the trace of that remaining divine ki.
After a long moment, his eyes snapped open bright.
"Found it!"
Whoosh!
When his feet touched solid ground again, Levos had arrived on a vast plain filled with birdsong and blooming flowers.
"The Supreme Kai's world…"
He swept his gaze around and saw a round, chubby figure with a halo above his head, calmly sipping tea.
"Fuwa?"
"Who are you? How do you know me? And how did a mortal like you get here?" Supreme Kai Fuwa stared at the sudden intruder, shocked.
"So I'm in Universe 6…" Once Levos confirmed his location, things became much easier. He smiled faintly. "I'm Champa's friend. I came to investigate what happened in this universe."
"I don't believe you!" Fuwa shook his head fiercely. "With Lord Champa's personality, how could he possibly have any friends?"
"Uh…" Levos was momentarily speechless. Still, he patiently explained. "Regardless of his character, we've been through life and death together. He and Vados have helped my universe a lot…"
"You even know Miss Vados…" Fuwa hesitated. "So you're not from Universe 6. No wonder I've never seen you."
Fuwa didn't doubt Levos's identity too much after that, and he told him everything he knew.
"…So you're saying, years ago, some brain-damaged guy showed up, didn't say a word, and challenged Champa. And Champa actually died got killed?"
Levos found it absurd.
"That's right."
"What about Vados? She just watched and didn't interfere?"
"Miss Vados was trying to repair this world and save as many people as she could. Something like that… even I, as a Supreme Kai, couldn't handle it." Fuwa let out a long sigh. "And because of that, she eventually vanished completely…"
"Vanished completely…" Levos frowned, a quiet heaviness passing through his chest. "Universe 6… how many human-inhabited planets are left?"
"Humans? They're all gone. Planets and living beings alike nothing survives a war at that level."
"But your Supreme Kai realm is still here, isn't it?"
"That's because the Supreme Kai realm is separated from the mortal realm." Fuwa sighed again. "I wanted to bring some humans into the Supreme Kai realm… but Lord Champa fell too quickly…"
"So even here… there are no living people?" Levos pressed.
"That's right. This universe has reached the end of the road…"
"I sympathize with what your universe suffered. Honestly, my universe is facing a similar extinction-level crisis…"
As he spoke, Levos flipped through Origin of the Gods. Following a certain method of divine power usage recorded inside, he released a layer of divine power so thin it was nearly transparent, spreading it inch by inch across the ground beneath his feet.
"What are you doing? And why do you have divine power in your body?" Fuwa asked, startled.
"Testing a new application of divine power. I want to see if I can store this planet inside my pocket space…"
"What?!" Fuwa yelped. "Are you insane? You actually want to try something like that?"
Levos raised a brow. "What, are you going to stop me?"
"Stop you? I can't be bothered." Fuwa laughed in disbelief. "Whose pocket space can hold an entire Supreme Kai planet? And how much divine power do you think you have to wrap a whole planet? Even ten of me, a hundred of me this would still be impossible!"
Levos smiled faintly. "If I don't try, how would I know?"
Universe 6 was already finished. And since this entire timeline would eventually vanish, he had no reason not to test the planet-sealing method written in the book.
But in Fuwa's eyes, it looked like ignorance and delusional arrogance, so he didn't take it seriously at all.
"Another lunatic…" Fuwa clearly didn't want to deal with Levos anymore. "As long as you don't mess up my tea, do whatever you want!"
