Chapter 170 - Protection

In the hush where shadows creep,

I shall guard your sacred sleep;

through the gaze of stranger's snare,

I will weave a steadfast prayer.

Silent vows in iron spun,

blazing brighter than the sun;

none shall steal your light from me,

none shall bruise what I can see.

Should their wandering glances seek,

I shall be your strongest peak;

in my arms, no winds shall break,

not a tremor shall you take.

Through the nettle and the thorn,

through the envy others mourn,

I shall shield your precious name,

from the fires of shallow fame.

Every sigh of secret spite,

I shall wrestle through the night;

none shall touch your woven grace,

none shall dim your sovereign face.

Let their silver tongues parade,

I shall forge an iron blade;

cutting lies and wicked arts,

till your throne is crowned in hearts.

Should their whispers stain the skies,

I will answer with sunrise;

painting gold where rumors crawl,

sowing strength against the fall.

In the gaze of hungry eyes,

I will build the surest ties;

threading you in warmth unseen,

nestled deep in realms serene.

Through the city's crowded breath,

through the trails of silent death,

I shall be your unseen shield,

anchored firm, yet never sealed.

When they call with empty hands,

I will break their brittle sands;

when they reach with fingers cold,

I will guard your dreams of gold.

By the thorn and by the flame,

by the oath that bears your name,

I shall rise with voice and sword,

to defend your silent word.

When their falsehoods weave their lies,

I shall drape you in pure skies;

in my soul, your light shall stay,

safe from every night and fray.

No sly stranger shall prevail,

no sly flattery shall sail;

with my breath, I chase them far,

with my hands, I catch each star.

I will mend each broken sigh,

brush the dust from off your sky;

keep you wrapped in woven spells,

soft as midnight's secret bells.

If their gazes pierce and pry,

I shall steal you to the sky;

where no jealous ghost may fly,

only you and I shall lie.

Through the wars of glancing eyes,

through the siren-songs and lies,

you shall reign untouched, unbowed,

like a queen among the clouds.

Should their games grow sharp and vile,

I shall answer with a smile;

one that drives their ghosts away,

one that guards your heart each day.

None shall tarnish what I hold,

none shall turn your skies to cold;

in my vigil you shall find,

sanctuary in heart and mind.

So in storms and golden hours,

you shall bloom through velvet showers;

and no tempter's grasp shall thread,

nor uproot the paths we tread.

I shall carve our secret space,

woven deep in endless grace;

no cruel hand shall break your song,

for with me, you still belong.
