"Even better. I've always had a weakness for non-human girls."
The man slowly stepped toward Elyndra, who remained exactly where she was.
She gave no response.
There was no fear in her eyes, no sign that she felt cornered or threatened. Her calm expression made it seem as though the situation before her was nothing worth worrying about.
"I'll warn you one last time," Elyndra said calmly. "My lord came here only for training. He has no intention of starting a conflict with another lord's forces."
"Oh, really?" the man replied with a mocking grin. "Then where is this lord of yours? And you came here with what... three people? Four? That's almost laughable. Better yet, your precious lord left you here all alone."
"Yeah, let's settle this now," another man said as he pulled out a black collar. "Put this around your neck, and everything will be over. Don't make things harder than they need to be."
