Chapter 183 - Chapter 183: The Giant Tree Heart Potion

Locke looked curiously at Wizard Sophia. "Thank you, teacher. I really like the gift you gave me."

"But what exactly is the Giant Tree Heart Potion?"

"I've never studied this type of potion before."

Wizard Sophia smiled. "Of course you haven't. This is a Magic Potion I designed myself in the past. But don't worry—it's already passed three phases of trials."

"I've submitted the formula and production process to the academy and patented it under my name, as part of the price for leaving the institution," Wizard Sophia said softly. "Though in the short term, no one at Lilith's Cottage should be able to brew the Giant Tree Heart Potion."

"As you know, for Potionology Masters, learning different types of potions requires tremendous effort and mastering numerous prerequisite knowledge systems. Therefore, I estimate it will take two to three years before anyone at the academy can brew this potion."

"This potion's effect is to strengthen your heart, giving it some characteristics of a Talmud Treant."

"For plant-based Wizards, this provides a significant combat enhancement. Talmud Treants are high-ranking Magic Plants with the ability to control surrounding Magic Plants."

Locke suddenly understood. "Teacher, does this mean the potion can modify my heart to make it easier for me to suppress the Magic Plants that have already established Mana grafting connections with me?"

Wizard Sophia smiled. "Exactly. Even for a First Class Wizard Apprentice, there are limits to the quantity and level of Magic Plants that can be Mana-grafted."

"Once you graft too many Magic Plants, they'll go out of control. You've seen the terrible state of those Wizards in the treatment center whose Magic Plants ran wild, haven't you?"

Wizard Sophia's expression turned serious. "But that's not all. The Talmud Treant Heart can enhance all the Magic Plants on your body."

"This is a unique power of Talmud Treants that I discovered by accident. It can boost each Magic Plant on your body by about 10% in strength."

Locke nodded slightly. "I see. So teacher, this potion would indeed greatly enhance my combat capabilities."

"Thank you, teacher."

After taking the Giant Tree Heart Potion, he would essentially gain additional capacity for Mana-grafted Magic Plants while being able to continuously channel special Talmud Treant Heart energy to strengthen all his existing Magic Plants.

Wizard Sophia smiled gently. "However, the Giant Tree Heart Potion isn't a Bloodline modification potion, so its effects aren't permanent."

"Although after taking it, you can replenish some Talmud Treant energy daily through photosynthesis, this energy will eventually fade from your heart over time." Wizard Sophia explained, "Based on my estimates, about three years."

"With frequent use, the duration might be even shorter."

"But if you immediately take a second dose of Giant Tree Heart Potion, you can regain this special energy."

Locke bowed respectfully to Wizard Sophia to express his gratitude.

No wonder Lilith's Cottage ultimately chose to let Sophia the Witch leave.

This potion could indeed comprehensively enhance the combat capabilities of the wizards within Lilith's Cottage.

'For wizard organizations, nurturing one or two super-geniuses from within can significantly boost both the organization's combat strength and future potential,' Locke pondered. 'This is probably why White Wizard society is so obsessed with and fervently pursues geniuses.'

Sophia the Witch said to Locke, "The Giant Tree Heart Potion needs to enter deep within your body to fundamentally transform your heart. Therefore, it cannot be ingested orally and must be administered intravenously."

"Do you remember the key points about intravenous injection?"

Locke nodded. "Yes, teacher, I remember everything."

"Higher-level potions often require intravenous injection to better affect a wizard's body or bypass certain automatic defense mechanisms, such as Magic Pressure and Magic Resistance. This prevents the potion's efficacy from being influenced by the wizard's own Magic Pressure and Resistance."

Sophia the Witch nodded approvingly. "Good. Your memory serves you well. This potion requires intravenous administration. You'll need to inject the Giant Tree Heart Potion into a carrier solution. The materials for creating the carrier solution are—"

"Base solution: Liquid Moonlight."

"Stabilizer: Mermaid Tears."

"Mixing the stabilizer with the base solution forms the carrier solution. The exact ratio doesn't matter since it's just a carrier. Besides, you're now a skilled Potionology Assistant, so you can figure it out yourself."

Sophia the Witch said, "I have work to attend to. You may go now."

Locke bowed respectfully to Sophia the Witch, exchanged a few pleasantries, and then left her office.

Once outside, Locke raised an eyebrow. The fact that intravenous injection was necessary meant the potion was undoubtedly high-grade.

Low-level potions didn't require considerations like Magic Resistance or Magic Pressure, nor did they involve deep-seated transformations.

However, Liquid Moonlight and Mermaid Tears were somewhat pricey.

Fortunately, both items were sold in the shops managed by Essie and Angulo. If he went there to purchase them, he could probably get a discount.

The real allure lay in the effects of the Giant Tree Heart Potion.

Taking it would immediately boost his combat strength by 10%, and it would also allow him to graft more and higher-quality Magic Plants, potentially doubling his overall combat power.

It seemed Sophia the Witch was trying to enhance his strength for his own safety.

"First, I'll head to the treatment center. The Tartarus Cave Worm Spinal Fluid is something I truly need. If I can obtain it, I'll be able to rapidly increase my Mana, unlike other First Class Wizard Apprentices who spend five or ten years grinding their way up."

...

Fifteen minutes later, Locke arrived at the treatment center riding his Engel Swift-Spin Snail. The moment he stepped into the first-floor lobby, he bumped into Essie and Angulo.

Both Essie and Angulo looked visibly anxious.

When Essie saw Locke approaching, her eyes immediately lit up. "Locke, something terrible has happened. That First Class Wizard Apprentice who had been temporarily suppressing his Magic Plant Curse with your Lesser Emerald Potion—his curse suddenly erupted."

"Lately, he's been trying to save money, so he didn't follow your instructions to take the Lesser Emerald Potion weekly."

"Because your Lesser Emerald Potion is so effective, even after skipping two weeks, his Magic Plant Curse showed no signs of losing control. He mistakenly thought he could cut corners on treatment costs."

"But he never expected that while hunting the wild Magical Creature, the Swamp Pig Mountain Lord, this morning, his Magic Plant suddenly went berserk."

"You know how the Swamp Pig Mountain Lord releases a passive negative energy Spell—Corrosive Swamp Gas—the moment it's injured. That negative energy Spell triggered a chain reaction with the Magic Plant Curse inside him."

Angulo added anxiously, "His condition is critical. Because of his actions, the Magic Plant Curse has completely breached his Magic Pressure's protection and fused with his soul, becoming as severe as Ruixing's case."

Locke's expression remained unchanged as he calmly asked, "What about the other Potionology Assistants? Why haven't I seen a single one on the first floor today?"

Essie scoffed, "Those cowards? They're all hiding, afraid of being held responsible if someone dies. They're still hoping to win this year's 'Outstanding Healer' title."

"And Angron's workshop—when we went to them earlier, they shut the door on us! They're always bragging about how powerful they and their mentors are, but when it counts, they all fail miserably."

Angulo fretted, "I even went to our Wizard Mentor, Mentor Edwin, but he's out today. And your Wizard Mentor, Sophia, isn't at the treatment center either. The two Formal Wizards here today have no connection to us—it's unlikely we'll get any outside help."

"What do we do now?"

"If he dies, who knows if the blame will fall on us? His Wizard Mentor, friends, and family will likely come after us. The academy might force us to pay compensation… and forget about any rewards this year."

Angulo sounded regretful. "If we'd known this would happen, the three of us should've taken the day off."

"Locke, why don't you seem worried at all?"

Locke glanced at them and replied coolly, "The Swamp Pig Mountain Lord has a fixed territory, and no such Magical Creature could exist near Lilith's Cottage's port city. That Swamp Pig Mountain Lord was deliberately lured to that First Class Wizard Apprentice."

Angulo and Essie fell into deep thought, their eyes widening slightly in realization at Locke's words.

Locke headed toward the second floor. "Besides, I came this afternoon to resolve the Magic Plant Curse once and for all. Might as well put an end to those Black Wizards harassing me with their petty little Curses."
