Chapter 2 - A Challenger Approaches

Diana hugged us both. Nicole had tears

flowing from her eyes. I was trying to be stronger but seeing my sister in such

a state just wrecked me. Soon the atmosphere of the guild hall shifted. There

were murmurs and whispering but I couldn't focus at all since the images of my

parents' heads in that beast's mouth. "Why is he crying for?" I scanned the

area while tears were still in my eyes.

Soon a little boy my age began approaching

me. "You have one of the most beautiful women hugging you and you're still

crying? Are you gay or something?" he asked with a disappointment all over his

face. I wiped my tears and got closer to him. "Why would you ask something like

that?" I questioned him. "You see, my dream is to have a woman love me and have

multiple children with her. I asked Diana but she won't even look at me but

here you are being hugged by her. Man I'm jealous." He whispered silently into

my ears.

Diana left Nicole and stared him down. "Theo!"

He started to sweat and hid behind me. "Yes, ma'am." "What are you saying to

poor Klaus?" He nervously responded stuttering with every word he spewed out.

She didn't buy a single word he said and began pinching his cheeks. "So your

name is Theo, huh." "Yup! Theo Chester!" He reached out his hand. "I'm Klaus

Langinheart," I said softly while returning the gesture. "We should fight. I'm

trying to be an adventurer but the people here are way to strong and older than

me. How about it?" I looked back at Nicole and saw her cheering up gradually. I

agreed and Diana took us to the stadium.

"This match will end when someone cannot get

back to their feet or if I call it off." Diana explained. I began stretching

and brainstorming. "If I were you, give it your all or else it will end

quickly." He stated arrogantly. I nodded and the match began. He advanced and

threw punches but they were sloppy and easy to read and dodge. He threw a punch

so I effortlessly evaded and was going to counter. I punched his stomach but he

was unfazed.

In fact, my hand began to bleed. "I guess

you're confused, I would be too. Too bad. If you want answers, you'll have to

beat them out of me." I decided to draw back but he relentlessly attacked me. I

tried blocking but all the punches hurt like crazy. It was then he landed a

clean punch to my jaw, knocking me off of my feet. "Diana, call the match off.

He didn't even use mana to defend that hit. There is no way he'll get up from

that." He stated with a smirk on his face. "The battle is just beginning." My

sister, Nicole, said confidently while pointing at me. They both had a shocked

look on their faces. My mana spread through the entire stadium and my eyes

color and shape changed. Not only that my teeth became sharper as well. "So my

prophecy about two siblings becoming the vessels of Egneel and Sora became

true. Does that mean Nicole can transform as well." She pondered.

"You were hiding this from me this entire

time? What do you take me for?" He charged at me once again. He threw a punch

but it did no damage. "Is that all you got?" I said. He punched me nonstop but

there was no effect. He began sweating as he wasted all of his mana. "My turn!"

Mana was embedded in my fist which shifted to fire. Theo begged for mercy but I

didn't listen. I punched him straight in the gut. He coughed out blood and was

instantly knocked out.

My eyes and teeth reverted back to normal and

the mana's ferocity died down. All the bystanders were shocked. "HOW COME HE

WASN'T ABLE TO BEAT THAT MAGICAL BEAST?! I gotta calm down. He is on par with a

C Rank Adventurer but he could even take on B Ranks and A Ranks." Her thoughts

spiraled. "It seems like you weren't expecting this outcome, Miss Diana."

Nicole stated calmly. "What is up with these two? Klaus is only fourteen and

Nicole thirteen and they're seem to be monsters." She thought while biting her

nails nervously.

Nicole approached me and initiated a fist bump.

"You did good today. Now let's get Theo to Diana." I nodded in agreement. We

both picked him up. His unconscious body was way heavier than expected. We

slowly walked towards Diana and she instructed us to lay him down next to her.

With outstretched arms she decided to cast a spell. A sphere with a clock in

the middle showed up and the hands reversed it's flow. Soon all the injuries

her sustained from the battle were gone.

"He should be up in a few but to be safe I'll

carry him home." She stated while carrying him on her back. I could hear

clapping from all around me. "So that intense mana we felt from inside the

guild master's room was you, huh?" I looked up and there he was. Kirk and the

guild master approached me and Nicole with a look of with a peculiar look ok

their faces. "Tomorrow, Diana, Kirk, the two of you and I will have a talk but

for now, you should go on and relax."

My house isn't far from here so I'll inform

them about tomorrow's talk, Sir." The guild master thanked him and we went on

our way. While walking Kirk brought up the history of our kingdom. He then said

that with Diana's powers, she occasionally gets prophecies. Her most recent prophecy stated that seven

new vessels will be chosen to defeat a threat in the not so near future. The

two of us were inhibited for a while because of the severity of the information

that we just listened to.
