Mika stared at Cecilia for a long second, lips parted in genuine disbelief.
Then he laughed, low and incredulous, shaking his head.
"Wow. I did not see that coming."
"That's literally the first time I've ever told anyone my ridiculous plan. I don't even know why I blurted it out to you. I was a hundred percent sure you'd call me a greedy pervert and slap me."
Cecilia just smiled, cheeks pink.
"But instead, you did the exact opposite and I got to say..." He continued, leaning closer until their frozen breaths mingled. "...every word that comes out of your mouth makes you even more attractive."
"You're making it really hard for a guy to stay sane, Doctor."
Her smile turned playful as she asked, "Does that mean I'm officially on the candidate list for your future harem?"
Mika's grin sharpened, lips almost brushing hers.
"Do you want to be?"
She pretended to think about it, tapping her chin, then looked straight into his eyes.
