He read the message. Then he read it again.
No way. There was no fucking way. He had to be reading it wrong, or maybe he was just imagining things. Notifications like this didn't just pop up out of nowhere. You didn't just get something without doing some kind of quest or hitting a specific milestone.
He started thinking, panicking a bit. Did he trigger some hidden quest? Did he completed the quest without noticing? He replayed the last few minutes, even the last few days, trying to find some kind of logic.
Nothing.
He hadn't done anything special. He was just standing there, feeling anxious, with one hand resting on Victoria's hip, wondering how the hell he was going to complete the quest.
This is too good to be true, he thought. In his experience, nothing with the System was actually free.
