He had also informed me about the way that the Demon Emperor treated the Dorell as a life stock, but I would never have imagined that it was this severe, so seeing that scene was enough to tell me all that I needed to know about how cruel was that guy, not that I had doubted Lido's words before .
But as the old say went, seeing is indeed the ultimate proof, I also was informed about the Doreen family and the Royal Family, I actually might even have more inside info about the situation, Lido's mother getting sick could be said to be the only topic that I had no idea about before .
But now that I was already informed of it, I understood that in the meantime I can't do much to help out with this, all I can do was to hope for either his mother to stay strong for some bit more time, or for her to get completely healed .
The confirmation that I got about the old man in front of me intentions was also quite good, I had finally understood what he truly think and made sure that he had enough motives to go against the Demon Emperor, even though he and the others who already made their minds to follow me, won't be able to do anything that went against the terms they signed on in their Binding Contracts .
But at least it was good to make sure that we all were on the same page, the only thing that I still have not gotten an answer for, was regarding the subject that I was interested in the most and the seed that bear fruit to all this weird branches of conversation, The Mind Nourishing Method .
I left him be for a while and only asked him to come back to my room with me, the guy seemed to be still engrossed in his thoughts as he merely nodded his head and followed me with a heavy steps as before, I felt bad about him for the first time, but soon my compassion was swept away after reminding myself on what these guys were planning to do .
But another powerful and solemn thought was what actually made me believe that I was becoming more and more heartless, that thought was regarding how the world of Demons work, the only rule there was survival for the fittest .
So the Demon Emperor doing that to them was quite justifiable, the other races trying to uproot them from the Real World after suffering from their cruel hands for who knows how many years was also justifiable, so he really shouldn't be standing here and acting all innocent .
They deserved the punishment they got, that was what I truly believed, after I realized this, I no longer cared about him looking like this and returned to my room, soon he entered the room again, without willing to waste anymore time, I said in an emotionless tone of voice :
" You had told me about stuff that I didn't need to know about, don't worry you will get your revenge, but I'm still not clear about why there was only 4 chapters of that method, shouldn't have Gorex left all the chapters of that method available ? .
After I said this there was no response for a while, he was completely submersed in his own thoughts and mind, but after exerting some pressure on him by releasing my killing intent, I was able to get him back to his senses, he was unclear about what I had just said, so I was yet again forced to repeat the question on him .
It seemed that the question I asked seemed to make him a bituncomfortable as he started to cough embarrassingly after he heard my question, that would have been normal, if his eyes too weren't becoming quite shifty, without him needing to say it out loud, I was certain that their was a special issue at work here .
~Cough~ ~cough~, well, after what happened before with the other members of the Demon race coveting that method and them not willing to give up on it, even though they still were unable to succeed in practicing it, Gorex was forced to make some arrangements that only allowed those who carry the lineage of our Dorell family to be able to practice that method .
But that's the thing, the restrictions that we need to pass to get the chapters to reveal themselves required some harsh requirements on the comprehension ability and the initial understanding of the Mind Nourishing Method, if the understanding is insufficient then you will get kicked out of the trial and return empty handed .
This is theTrial Stone left by the ancestor, this Stone will allow a group of people to enter another isolated space but only with their Mentally bodies, this Stone well need you to drop a droplet of blood on it to make sure of your origins and force the connection with the trial inside .
We sadly have been trying all that we can, but we still unable to get passed the third level of the trial, unless you succeed in crossing the trial, then when you fail you will be kicked out and your memories of the trial will be erased as well .
I'm also embarrassed to say this, but to start the trial, you will also need to pay a huge amount of Mana Stones, that what made each try quite expensive, we hadn't dared to make any hasty tries anymore, the Demon Emperor was also aware of this, so that was most likely why he exempted us from paying all these fines taxes and his so-called gifts .
As he finished saying this, he withdraw a weird shaped stone that had Mind Nourishing Method words written on him in a distinctive yet also weird way, the way it was weird was because the language didn't looked readable at all, but just as I looked at it, I understood what the words carved on it were saying, which was quite obscured .
The piece of stone itself looked like it wasn't that much bigger than the palm of Dorax's hand, their was no other distinctive thing about the piece of stone, other than its rough surface and the fact that even though it was black, the words carved on it seemed to glitter from time to time .
After seeing the Trial Stone that he made it look so grand and hearing all those things he said about it, I couldn't help but knit my eyebrows slightly together at this, I wasn't disappointed but I was thinking that something indeed doesn't add up, so I couldn't help but say :
" But wait a second here, since you guys are already unable to get past the third level of the trial, then how could the Demon Emperor expect you to acquire the other chapters for him, could he be thinking of letting the marriage be held and wait for his grandkids to be the one to acquire it for him .
I saw that at my question, the family head face turned even more solemn for a while as it seemed that he was thinking about this possibility for the first time and even after some time seemed to have passed, he kept staring at me without saying anything at all, he seemed to be dumbstruck and currently weighting how feasible was this theory of mine .
After taking his time, he finally shook his head and said :
I hadn't thought of it like that before, but I can't help but believe that this was quite unlikely, first of all, the princess was well-known for her strong character and stubborn mind, not to mention that the Demon Emperor had always doted on her, so giving her away for the sake of achieving his plans was unlikely .

Even though I found his optimistic thoughts to be the far-fetched ones, I still found myself nodding at him and agreeing with his kind of logic, but dropping the topic regarding the Demon Emperor intentions and plans for the Dorell family, I still asked about what mattered most to me, I said :
" So let's talk about that huge amount of Mana Stones that is required first, how much will be needed for one person to enter the Trial ? .
He shook his head and said :
10 To 15 thousands Mana Stones, it also doesn't matter whether there are 10 or 20 people going in, the number of people doesn't make a difference in affecting the price, at least from the memories that got spared .
Hearing this, I couldn't help but start having a headache, 10 to 15 thousands, I might as well forget about trying to enter the Trial for now, all that I currently have on me was more than 20 thousands, at most 25, but even with this huge amount, I will still find great difficulty in supporting that trial opening .

Getting a few more details from the family head, I only asked him to give me the chapters available of that method, also if possible some of the notes that could help in mastering these chapters more easier, he was again at loss of what to say, not caring to embarrass him for it, I told him that he can go after I received the available 4 chapters from him .
That old man was embarrassed about the fact that those guys have failed to even practice this method, if I'm not wrong, the 4 chapters were acquired before the Demon Emperor get coronated, what exactly were those trials and how difficult was to pass them, I wonder .
As family head Dorax fled from the place in embarrassment, I wouldn't have held him accountable for the lack of both motivs and talent, he couldn't interfere with the latter and he had no heart for the first .
After he stepped out, I couldn't help but withdraw that ominous black book from my bracelet and put it next to the black Trial Stone in my hand, there was no reaction from either items in front of me, but I figured as much, even though I held some hope for them to react in my mind, but in the end this was the result .
Disappointing, yes but at least nothing bad had happened like the two of them destroying each other, I looking at them couldn't help but release a sigh, this sigh was the result of me recalling what exactly had Dorax told me about the last chapter that was missing .
That chapter still in that tower where Gorex found the Mind Nourishing Method, as for why it was there, why did Gorex left it there, did he even had a choice at that time, all these details were unclear to Dorax, much less to me, but if I were to see a benefit in seeking it out, then I will give it my best later .
Looking at the two weird items in front of me, I couldn't help but note that one was currently unavailable for using due to the high cost, then the other item who needed the first item to be used first .
Yes, I was still planning on practicing that method in the Northern Devouring Star, but the current problem was that the book was completely sealed and the only thing that seem to get it to react was my Mental Energy, so before I risk trying to seek the secret inside the book, I will first need to enhance my Mental Energy capacity to its maximum and I have just the right thing that could help me with that .
The Mind Nourishing Method chapters in hand should allow me to increase both my efficiency in enhancing my Mental Energy and in enhancing my practice speed in refining Mana as well with that blessing, I should be able to reach the Ruler level in a short period of time .
Opening the book that contained the chapters of that method, I was able to understand what should I need to do to Master the first chapter, it was actually pretty simple, all I need to do was to close the Heaven Gate and make use of the Mental Energy I have to bombard it again and again until it's open once more .
I will need to try that 9 times, opening and closing the gates using only what I have of Mental Energy and pure and sheer will, that seemed simple enough, I couldn't help but think like that, I hopped on the bed and as the method instructed me to do, I sat in a meditative position and shut all my senses .
The only focus I have was to see my Mind Space with my eyes closed, who I happened to be able to do without much an issue, it was just a bit bizarre feeling, the invisible air currents of Mental Energy swirling around me, or maybe I was the one swirling around them, I didn't know how long it exactly took me to reach my current state, time seemed to not exist here nor my other senses too .
Other than my vision, I currently have no other feeling, it seemed as if I was completely cut off, the feeling was weird to the extreme, but the sense of peace that came with it was quite addictive .
I couldn't help but wonder if I had already succeeded in reaching my mind space, the place here was quite dark, but it seemed that I still can see everything around me, maybe sense would be a better way to describe it, my whole situation currently was filled with obscurity, then I finally saw what I came here for, The Mysterious Gate or The Heaven Gate as mentioned in the book appeared before me .
