(Tiamat POV)
Xyrrath moves first.
Not toward me.
Through me.
Space folds like wet parchment. For a fraction of a moment, I exist in three positions at once—where I was, where I should be, and where he wants me to be. Reality stutters, unsure which version of me deserves continuity.
I tear myself free by force.
The Sea erupts outward, not as water, but as weight—raw existential mass slamming into the fracture. The false versions of me collapse instantly, crushed back into nonexistence as the real me reasserts itself with primordial authority.
Xyrrath laughs.
"Oh, that's much better," he says, voice echoing from multiple angles. "You're not reacting anymore. You're hunting."
I answer him with annihilation.
The ocean around us inverts, collapsing upward into a spiraling abyss that consumes light, sound, and direction. Time buckles inside it, seconds stretching into viscous strands as my authority drags the battlefield into my domain.
I do not cast spells.
I declare conditions.
"Here," I say, voice carrying across layered realities, "nothing unfinished survives."
The Sea of Life answers.
Xyrrath vanishes.
The space where he stood detonates inward, compressed so violently that reality implodes into a singularity the size of a fist. It screams as it collapses—matter, concept, causality all folding into one impossible point.
Xyrrath steps out of it unharmed.
Not escaped.
Unwritten.
His form blurs, rewritten by his own will as the singularity consumes itself behind him.
"Too absolute," he chides. "You're still thinking like a goddess."
He snaps his fingers.
The battlefield fractures into epochs.
I see it instantly—past, present, and future layered over one another like shattered glass. In one reflection, the Sea is newborn and fragile. In another, it is dead, evaporated into silence. In a third, I am already gone.
Xyrrath attacks from all of them at once.
Blades of warped causality tear through my form—each strike targeting a different version of me across time. Pain blossoms, not in my body, but in my continuity.
I roar.
The Sea responds with fury.
I split myself.
Not an illusion—division.
Multiple manifestations of me rise from the waters, each one anchored to a different temporal layer. One strikes into the past, collapsing the fragile Sea into a hardened origin state. Another surges into the future, erasing the timeline where I fall. The third—me—charges straight at Xyrrath.
Our collision shatters distance.
We crash through layers of reality like falling stars, tearing through dimensions that dissolve on contact. Xyrrath warps gravity mid-impact, twisting my momentum sideways into a spiral of inverted force meant to unravel my form.
I answer by giving birth.
A colossal draconic maw of water and abyss tears open behind him, snapping shut with the force of a collapsing ocean trench. Space buckles as the bite crushes entire coordinates out of existence.
Xyrrath is torn in half.
For exactly one heartbeat.
Then his upper half steps backward in time and reconnects to a version of himself that was never struck.
He claps slowly.
"Magnificent. Truly. No wonder creation remembers you."
Rage surges—but I do not let it control me.
I sink.
My presence deepens, authority expanding downward into layers of reality most beings never touch. The battlefield drowns in depth, infinite pressure pressing from all directions at once.
Xyrrath's smile tightens.
"Oh," he murmurs. "You're invoking that."
Yes.
This is no longer a clash of powers.
It is a clash of principles.
I move, and space moves with me—not bending, not breaking, but submitting. Each step births waves that erase entire conceptual structures Xyrrath attempts to anchor to.
He retaliates by weaponizing choice.
Thousands of possible outcomes erupt around me, each one trying to become real. In some, I hesitate. In others, I overextend. In many, I win—but not fast enough.
He floods the field with them, drowning me in probability.
I scream and unleash my full voice.
The Sea roars with me.
All possibilities collapse.
Not chosen.
Rejected.
Only the present remains.
Xyrrath stumbles back for the first time, boots skidding across reality as his manipulation stutters.
"…Interesting," he says softly. "You're no longer bound by inevitability."
I surge forward, claws formed from condensed authority tearing through his defenses. I rip into him, shredding layers of false causality, tearing pieces of his existence loose.
He bleeds—not blood, but meaning.
Fragments of him dissolve into screaming equations.
But he catches my wrist.
His grip is ice and void.
"And you," he whispers, eyes burning, "are no longer protected by certainty."
He pulls.
Suddenly, I am not here.
I am inside a dead universe.
No stars. No sea. No life.
Only silence.
Xyrrath stands across from me, arms spread. "This is what happens when doubt wins," he says. "Creation ends quietly."
The emptiness presses in, eroding my presence.
For a moment—
Fear.
Then I feel it.
The Sea.
Not here.
But remembering me.
I smile.
"This universe is dead," I say. "But I am not bound to where life exists."
I step forward.
Water pours out of me, flooding the void, resurrecting reality by force of origin alone. The dead universe screams back into existence as the Sea of Life reclaims it.
Xyrrath recoils, shielding himself as the reborn cosmos collapses inward, crushing us both back into the battlefield.
We collide again—harder.
Time shatters completely.
There is no sequence anymore. We strike, counter, adapt in pure simultaneity. I drown his constructs in abyssal depth; he rewrites the rules of drowning. I erase his footholds; he invents new ones mid-fall.
We tear each other apart and reassemble ourselves through sheer will.
I feel Kaelthar's strain in the distance.
Vorath pushing.
Time running out.
I grab Xyrrath by the throat and drag us both into the deepest layer of my authority—the place where creation remembers its first breath.
"You wanted choice?" I snarl. "Then choose this."
I unleash everything.
The Sea collapses inward, compressing infinity into a single moment of absolute pressure. Reality screams as even concepts buckle under the weight.
Xyrrath's body fractures violently, shards of him scattering across dimensions.
But even as he breaks—
He smiles.
"Too late."
Something clicks.
Far away, I feel it—the shift. A final adjustment snapping into place. Xyrrath's work nearing completion.
I roar and crush him, obliterating what remains of his form.
Silence falls.
The Sea churns violently, unstable, furious.
Xyrrath does not reform.
Not yet.
But I know.
He isn't finished.
Neither am I.
I stand amidst the shattered remains of reality, breathing hard, power flaring wildly around me.
This fight did not decide the war.
It only proved one thing.
When gods abandon certainty—
They become far more dangerous.
