"But, I am on duty—"
"Do not worry. Nothing will happen to Lillian."
"Oh? Then let us go—"
"Hey, you two. Are you doing this on purpose in front of me?"
It was Veronica, who now stood right beside Leon, having been closely watching the both of them act like this.
Irene turned.
"Lady Veronica, I did not see you there."
"Oh? Did you really?"
The others watching saw how the three of them were chatting this way. It was as if they had all known each other long before tonight.
"Sister, stop scaring her."
"Scaring her? When exactly did I do that?"
She pulled his cheek hard.
"Oww!"
She let go, then looked back at Irene.
"For how long are you going to stay in this kingdom?"
"Uh, a week or so. I will leave with the others once our business here is done."
"Hmm…"
Veronica folded her arms.
And then she said something which neither Irene nor Leon had ever thought of hearing tonight.
