Chapter 93 - Chapter 93

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 93

Recalling the amount, the couple couldn't help but smile. Even though their town was not a city, it was one of the richest towns in the region because of its amazing location. Many fishermen in their town were millionaires, boat owners who capitalized on the salmon and tuna season which brought massive profits during the cold months.

As for the fishermen workers, their lives stayed the same because their salaries were fixed. Only boat owners could become rich, a sad truth.

Fortunately, even though Karlos had a small bangka, he also earned a nice amount this season. His fishing location was abundant with salmon and other fish, making every trip worthwhile.

He heard from crab trappers that their earnings didn't fluctuate much during this season. They couldn't travel far and they didn't know any good fishing locations, leaving them with limited options.

If they knew about Karlos' earnings, they would probably go crazy with jealousy. Of course, Karlos and Brandon were quiet about it. They didn't talk much about their earnings to avoid unnecessary attention. And when curious fishermen asked how they could fish for salmon, they just lied and told them that they explored farther from the shore to catch fish.

So far, no one had discovered their fishing location, which was a great thing.

More kids showed up to ask for money, and Maya slowly became numb from being called Doña. She didn't even own a mansion, so how could she become a Doña?

Around 8 am, Joseph and his family arrived. They promised that they would visit today, which was the reason why Maya and Karlos were staying outside to welcome them with warm smiles.

"..."

Joseph and Penelope were speechless when they saw the villa, unable to process its grandeur. They had only caught a glimpse of this place but never the inside. Even Gavin and Venus were surprised.

"... Karlos, are you sure you're not from a rich family?" Joseph curiously asked Karlos.

"If I were rich, I wouldn't have lived in the fish port for months." Karlos was a bit tipsy because of the early drink. He recalled the hard times when he had to look for a dry spot in the always-wet fish port just to sleep. It was fortunate that the fish port was open 24/7. There were times when the guards would prevent him from sleeping in the fish port, and Karlos had to sleep in front of a closed shop. Life was tough back then, and he never forgot it.

"You have a point."

"Anyway, you asked me about the wine cellar... How about I take you there? Mrs. Wanda said that I'm allowed to take a guest there."

Karlos refrained from saying that he also received approval to taste every wine, even the expensive ones. Today, he planned to entertain his brother-in-law by opening a bit of expensive wine, the one that cost 10,000 pesos.

Maya and Penelope rolled their eyes as the two men laughed out loud, already acting like teenagers.

"Auntie, you said that this villa has a pool, can I swim there?" Gavin asked with anticipation.

"No wonder you have a bag, you prepared spare clothes." Maya chuckled and led them to the swimming pool.

They already received approval from Mrs. Wanda that they were allowed to accept guests. In fact, Mrs. Wanda was confused that the couple was asking for approval. They were the masters of this villa for at least half a year, even if they didn't fully embrace the title.

Mrs. Wanda and the two maids busied themselves in the kitchen, preparing dishes for the guests. When they heard that the guests had arrived, they had to accommodate them at their best as part of their service.

Penelope and her two children were excited. They had heard that the villa had a swimming pool. Una Town was exactly next to the sea and almost every kid knew how to swim because it was part of their lifestyle.

However, swimming in a beach and swimming in a pool were two different things. For Gavin and Venus, this would be the first time they would swim in a pool, a moment they would surely remember.

At first, Penelope was against it. She knew that Karlos and Maya were just guests who lived in the villa for the time being, and she didn't want them to overstep. They were not the owners of this place. It was too much if they used the swimming pool.

Just like Penelope, Maya was also against using the pool at first. But when she talked to Karlos regarding this topic, her shameless husband asked Mrs. Wanda if they could invite their relatives and use the pool, surprising Maya completely.

Maya was speechless at that time and felt strong shame. Fortunately, Mrs. Wanda had no problem with it and even encouraged it.

"Wow! It's beautiful!"

Venus was starstruck as she saw a wide pool, clear and stunning, reflecting the sunlight. Even Gavin was so happy to see a swimming pool for the first time. He had only seen one in movies and TV shows, never imagining he'd swim in one.

"Auntie, I want to swim." Gavin looked at his aunt, asking for permission.

Maya smiled and rubbed his hair, "Of course you can."

"Cool!"

"Before you swim, take off your shirt. It will be less trouble if your shorts are the only wet ones," Penelope reminded him.

Gavin took off his shirt while Venus kept hers; she was an elementary student and should be mindful of things, as reminded by her mother.

When Gavin and Venus swam around, the twins were also interested in swimming, watching them with fascination. They had been longing to try this beautiful and huge "bathtub", but their parents rarely took them here to play around, even though the place was wide. Karlos and Maya were scared that the kids would go to the pool without someone guarding them, especially since they were curious.

Even though the villa was huge, the twins mostly spent their time in the bedroom or in the annex where it was safer. They rarely visited the garden, swimming pool, kitchen, living room, or even the dining room. The twins wanted to try something new.

"Mama, Me." Arabella pulled the hem of her mother's shirt, gesturing to swim with hopeful eyes. Her small hands were copying her cousin's movement in the water, the swimming arm stroke.

Unfortunately, Maya shook her head. She believed that her kids were still too young to try swimming, maybe when they were 2 years old, she could let them swim. Besides, there was a beach near their house, and they would learn how to swim one way or another like all local kids.

"You're still young," Maya said to Arabella.

The little girl, having no idea what that meant, was confused and tilted her head.

"Mama?" She pointed at the swimming pool, then gestured her arms to make a swimming stroke.

"No."

"Bah!" With that single word that Arabella understood, she learned that her mother was against her going swimming. She slapped her baby walker in disappointment.
