Nolan blinked, then laughed softly.
"Sure. There's plenty for everyone. It won't run out."
The dwarf Knight looked excited.
"Then—can I call a few others to join us?"
Nolan frowned.
"If other dwarves know I'm human, they'll panic."
The Knight waved his hands.
"No, no! The General already told some key dwarves to keep their distance and stay calm. He said you're… uh… special. And that we should treat you well. Can I call some people?"
Nolan sighed, then nodded.
"Fine. Go ahead."
The dwarf Knight grinned and ran off.
Celia and Linda approached, bowls in hand.
"Please, have your seats," Celia said politely.
The dwarves sat on nearby rocks. Celia served them rice, while Linda placed slices of the pulled meat on their plates.
The moment the food touched their tongues, both dwarves froze.
Their eyes widened. Their bodies stiffened. Then slowly… they closed their eyes and trembled.
"This… this is truly delicious…" the first dwarf whispered.
