"Stupefy" Lockheart used the stunning spell on Malfoy, immediately freezing him in his place.
He then slowly went and stood near the frozen boy.
"They didn't do anything last time because the kid was a muggle born and I had only removed a bit of his memories. I wonder what would happen if I did it to the Malfoy heir and this time with a bit more intensity" Lockheart muttered to himself as he brought out his wand.
"Oblivi-"
Bam!!
"AAAAHHHH!!!!"
Just as he was about to complete it, his wand was knocked out of his hand by a block of iron. Lockheart screamed in pain as he felt the bones break inside his hand.
But at the same time, the trio had managed to reach the corridor and saw everything that had happened with their own eyes.
They saw Lockheart who was about to use a spell on Malfoy who had fallen on the ground, and they also saw someone throw a block of iron, throwing away Lockheart's aim and his wand together with it.
While Lockhart winced in pain, he saw the students in the opposite end of the corridor from where the iron block came from. He immediately put on his act.
"Students, be careful there is an attack on young Malfoy. Just as I was about to heal him with a spell, the attacker decided to ambush me with that metal block. They were really smart about using a physical object as no magic would have any effect on me" Lockheart boasted while clutching his hand and trying his best not to whimper in pain.
Just at that moment, Auden came out of the shadows in the corridor. He was guggling another metal block in his hand, making Lockhart take a step back in fear.
"Look, children its him, he was the one who injured your beloved teacher, he was jealous of Malfoy being from a pureblood family and decided to attack him. Come on children help me defeat him for good" Lockhart screamed out while going near to the golden trio.
The trio at the time were confused. Harry and Ron had never met Auden face to face, so they trusted Lockhart more. But Hermionie immediately held them back.
"Harry, Ron don't. I heard the spell that was about to be cast by professor Lockhart. It was a memory erasing spell. He was not trying to heal Malfoy. Plus Auden was not at Hogwarts when the first attack happened" Hermionie shouted out immediately.
This shocked the two as they stood in silence. Auden then started to talk.
"You don't have any way to escape Lockhart. I came here because I was warned by a Hogwarts ghost that you were attacking a student. By now the ghost should have already informed the other professors. Surrender now" Auden gave his ultimatum.
Lockhart realising that there was no escape, began panicking. He had no idea where his wand had gone when Auden had struck his hand and realising that he had no choice, he decided to escape as soon as possible.
He immediately ran towards the Golden trio who never expected Lockheart to attack them suddenly like this. They were ill-prepared, giving Lockhart enough time to snatch the broken wand from Ron's hands.
"Aha, don't you dare follow me Mr H. you don't want to find out how well my spells work when compared to what I had written in the books. I had watered them down so as to not scare the young generation of my fans who were reading them" Lockhart shouted out while waving the wand with trembling fingers.
His dominant hand was already broken by Auden, so he was using his other hand to scare the kids for now. Seeing that they were not attacking. Lockhart decided to run while clutching Ron's wand.
"Hey, that's my wand!!!. Come back here?" Ron screamed as he began running behind Lockhart. Harry followed behind him, worried about Ron who did not even have a wand while following Lockheart.
Hermionie didn't know what to do at the moment as Malfoy was still frozen in the ground.
"Go, I'll look after Malfoy" Auden said while taking the difficulty of the decision from Hermionie's hands. She immediately followed after Harry and Lockhart.
Auden checked Malfoy's condition and found out that there was nothing wrong with him other than the fact that he was petrified by Stupefy. The petrification spell also had a knockback effect that made Malfoy lose his consciousness.
Auden took his wand out and reversed the stupefy curse, relaxing Malfoy's body.
By that time, Helena managed to call Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick towards where the attack had occurred.
"Mr Auden, are you alright" Minerva asked while feeling concern for the student who faced Lockhart two times in the same month.
"Don't worry professor, I managed to reach here before Lockhart used any harmful spells Malfoy, so right now, he is only suffering the aftereffects of the petrification spell. When I reached here, I did manage to disarm him of his wand. Though he did manage to snatch Mr Weasley's wand before running away" Auden replied.
"Really, what kind of spell did you use to stop Lockhart, was it an expelliarmus?" Flitwick asked excitedly.
"No, I just threw an iron block I use to practice transfiguration" Auden said while pointing to a block near the ground.
Both the professors felt bewildered at the method Auden used.
'He is excellent at using spells but still decided to fight by throwing such heavy things' they both thought at the same time.
But they also noticed that the block was at least had a weight of two dozen kilograms. Made them think about the boy's strength that allows him to throw the block accurately to someone's hands.
"Wait a minute, what do you mean Lockhart got Mr Weasley's wand?" Minerva asked as he remembered what Auden said.
"Ah yes, Harry Potter and Hermionie granger were with him as well. Mr Weasley ran after Lockhart to get his wand back and the other two followed after him" Auden said with a small smile that brought migraines to both the professors.
"Those idiots!!" Minerva screamed and began running towards the direction Auden pointed to.
"Auden make sure to help Mr Malfoy get checked up by Madam Pomfrey. We will handle Lockhart in the meantime" Flitwick said as he started running as well. But after two steps, he used a spell which suddenly increased his speed by a lot.
There was silence for a few seconds as both the professors went after the three idiots who were following a dangerous criminal.
Helena floated upwards from the floor while looking towards the direction the teachers had run off to.
"Smart decision Auden, Dumbledore was waiting for you to follow the three Gryffindor students. It's a good thing you chose to stay behind" Helena commented as she had successfully called the teachers according to Auden's plan.
Auden nodded in agreement.
