After Auden made the Dementors flee using his Patronus, he took out a piece of chocolate and shared it with both Luna and Ginny. Even though the Patronus had removed the negative emotions that the Dementors had brought into the room, there were still a bit of aftereffects present within both their bodies.
Soon, the students began to come out of their cabins as they figured out that the creatures that were attacking them had disappeared completely. They were murmuring about seeing a flying silver rabbit that drove away the Dementors.
Auden, with his hearing, was also able to hear the sounds of a few seventh years who were talking excitedly as they recognised the spell.
By then, the prefects had already started making sure that the students were alright. Auden, seeing that he was not discovered, decided to go back to his cabin with the girls.
But he did notice Lupin looking at him from the corner of his eye.
His Patronus had left traces of his magic all throughout the train. His magic signature might be difficult for ordinary wizards to identify without a spell, but a werewolf has enhanced senses even when they are not transformed during the full moon.
Auden was sure that Lupin had found him out because of the way he had looked at him. But Auden was not worried, as he was sure that the other teachers would fill him in about his potential in magic.
After a small discussion, the train began moving towards Hogwarts once more. Auden was able to hear the sounds of Aurors who were confused at how easily the Dementors were repelled. But more than that, he was angry that they decided to pull a stunt like this.
They wanted to surprise and capture Sirius in case he was planning on infiltrating Hogwarts using the train. The plan was sound, if not for the fact that the students were in danger due to the Dementors.
In the canon, if not for the presence of Lupin, Harry would have without a doubt been a victim of the Dementor's Kiss. And he would have suffered more than just the loss of his consciousness.
The Dementors are not under the control of the Ministry. What they have with each other is a cooperation. The Dementors get regular prisoners from whom they can feed on emotions while they stay away from the general public.
Putting them in front of children who have the purest emotions is like dropping a bloodied piece of flesh into a place filled with dangerous sharks.
Auden had already tried to stop this from happening by telling Amelia, but her hands were tied. As long as Cornelias is the Minister, he has full control over the decisions made throughout the entirety of Britain.
And because of his cowardly nature, he is going to make more and more decisions like the ones he made today, to make the children live under the constant threat of Dementors that might attack them the moment their emotions get a bit more energetic.
He looked out through the window where Hermes was flying while holding a recording crystal.
Giving him a nod, the owl started flying towards London, where Rita Skeeter was waiting to write her breaking news tomorrow, speaking about how close the students were to their deaths.
'This is just a small push that will play its part in the whole game,' Auden thought as the train finally reached the Hogwarts station.
"First years over here!" Hagrid bellowed, calling over all the first year students like always. But unlike the earlier years, his current coat seemed a bit cleaner compared to before.
'He must have already gotten the post of Professor of Magical Creatures since he was proven not guilty last year,' Auden thought as he and the rest of the seniors began to go to the chariots driven by the Thestrals. A few of the Thestrals seemed to look closely at Auden, but he just patted them a bit and went to take his seat.
After some time, the entire student body reached Hogwarts without any problems. But they did notice a few Dementors flying through the sky at a distance, bringing the overall mood of the students down.
Auden was also listening to the idle chatter of the students at the same time as well. He was also able to hear that Harry had fainted just like in canon.
But unlike in canon, where people were laughing at him to rid themselves of their own fears, they were actually trying to make sure he was alright.
'Looks like Granger took my advice well,' Auden thought as he noticed Harry surrounded by more than just the usual two of his friends.
Susan Bones, Hannah Abbott, and a boy from Ravenclaw seemed to be near him. And from what Auden could see, a few people from Slytherin also seemed to keep their eyes on him from a distance, though their stares seemed more concerned rather than hostile or judgmental.
'I guess it will be different this year,' Auden thought as he went on with the motions of the start of the year.
The houses were separated like normal, and Dumbledore introduced the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Lupin, who was welcomed by almost all the students except for the Slytherins.
Snape also seemed to give Lupin a stink eye from a distance, but Auden knew it was because of their personal history, where Snape was subjected to bullying by the Gryffindor group all those years ago.
After dinner, Dumbledore gave extra warnings about getting out of the Hogwarts property, seeing that there were Dementors surrounding the entire school.
After everyone went back to their towers, Auden was once again allowed to use the private room, seeing that he came first in last year's final exams among the first year students. After making sure that everything was right where it should be, Auden decided to sneak out and complete his target for the day.
"Are you ready to unlock my bloodline, my child?" Gryffindor asked with a smile.
A/N - Hope you like it.
