Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: The Enchantress of Peerless Beauty, Federation High Inspector

Rowan had passed the Celestial Codex to Luo Feng.

With Luo Feng's extraordinary talent, he should be able to unearth the mental force hidden within his consciousness far faster than before.

That mental power would in turn strengthen his body, allowing Luo Feng's warrior level to rise much more quickly than in the original timeline.

On this particular day, Rowan continued to meditate upon the laws deep within the heart of Muspelheim.

He had been here for a full week already.

Unfortunately, the effort had yielded no tangible results.

Yet even failure had its value.

Though the molten core of Muspelheim was awash in searing heat, it was also profoundly quiet. No distractions disturbed him there.

A week of uninterrupted "meditation" had stilled Rowan's heart more than ever before.

To his surprise, he found himself comprehending fragments of the philosophy of "unity between heaven and man," which Victor Gale had once recorded in his Essays on the Domain.

This discovery filled Rowan with delight.

Because once he grasped the unity of heaven and man, the next step would be the mastery of Domain.

And the importance of Domain could not be overstated.

Between two combatants of equal strength, the one with a stronger Domain would always hold the advantage.

For example, though Rowan now stood at the ninth rank of the planetary level, if he were to clash with Victor Gale who had already mastered Domain Victor would certainly win.

If Rowan hoped to distinguish himself in the upcoming Cosmic Genius Tournament, mastery of both Domain and Laws was indispensable.

Having found a glimmer of understanding in the realm of Domain, Rowan grew more patient in his cultivation.

He relocated his training from the vibranium chamber to the core of Muspelheim itself.

Even when practicing the Celestial Codex, he did so amidst the molten currents, the lava providing immense resistance that helped temper his control over flying blades with mental force.

Every spare moment was devoted to meditation, comprehending Laws and Domain alike.

And so, half a month slipped by.

One day, Rowan returned to the Devouring World.

Because Muspelheim's fiery element was so abundant, he had spent much of this period within the Marvel Universe, drawing upon its environment.

While browsing the Limitless House Forum, he was startled to discover that the Heart-Shaped Herb Serum had been placed on sale in the Limitless Mall.

The price was five hundred million credits.

But a note followed: Recommended only for non-warrior individuals over twenty-three years old.

It seemed that after many rounds of testing, the serum still carried risks of limiting a warrior's long-term potential.

Which made sense. Its immediate boost was far too great. If it had no side effects at all, its value would have been immeasurable.

Still, this development was already revolutionary.

With the Heart-Shaped Herb Serum, humanity's number of warriors would explode in the coming years.

First would be the wealthy families. Even if their children lacked natural talent, they would buy it. Spending five hundred million credits to secure warrior status for a son or daughter was a bargain.

Next would be the militaries of the world, who would surely purchase it in bulk.

For them, five hundred million credits for one mid-level warrior was more than worth the cost. Bulk orders from the Limitless Dojo would even come with discounts.

Rowan could already foresee the rise of elite units comprised entirely of warriors. Some, more extravagant, might even form regiments enhanced by both the Heart-Shaped Herb and the Desperate Serum, creating soldiers with staggering self-healing abilities.

Such forces would stand as an iron shield against the monstrous tides.

Rowan could imagine it within five to ten years, humanity would launch a sweeping counterattack against the beasts.

But Rowan himself paid little attention to such matters.

If he wished, he alone could slaughter every emperor-class and king-class monster in existence, tipping the balance of the war overnight.

But he did not.

After living through three worlds before this one, he no longer carried the delusion of playing savior.

He would not treat every world as his responsibility to rescue.

Unless humanity truly faced extinction, unless all begged for his aid, he would not intervene.

After closing the forum, Rowan spoke briefly with Luo Feng, who was currently hunting monsters in the wilderness.

At first, the Fire Hammer Squad had taught Luo Feng practical survival skills.

But after two weeks, they realized they could no longer keep up with him.

Luo Feng's mental force had reached the level of a mid-tier warlord. His efficiency in slaying monsters matched the rest of the squad combined.

Even their captain, Gao Feng, though physically comparable to a mid-tier warlord, was fundamentally still at the lower level. As a result, Luo Feng had become the strongest fighter in the team.

Eventually, Gao Feng grew embarrassed, admitting Luo Feng was better off hunting alone than being dragged down by teammates.

Once unleashed, Luo Feng's growth was terrifying.

In just ten days, he single-handedly slew ten thousand monsters, including seven or eight high-tier beast generals.

News of his deeds stunned the warriors of South River Base City.

The nickname "Madman" spread across the city's warrior circles like wildfire.

"Luo Feng, you've already mastered the second form of the Ninefold Thunderblade? And your movement technique has reached the Micro stage?"

Rowan's voice carried disbelief as he spoke over the comm.

He never imagined Luo Feng's progress could be so fast.

To be frank, at just eighteen years old, Luo Feng now possessed the attributes of a mid-tier warrior, a mid-level warlord spiritualist, mastery of the second form of the Thunderblade, and movement at the Micro stage. With such a luxurious profile, he was already qualified for the Elite Training Camp.

"Yes," Luo Feng answered with a sheepish grin. "I figured it out about a week ago while hunting."

He didn't think it was anything special.

Compared to Rowan, his achievements felt small.

Rowan fell silent for a moment.

He had his "cheats," but Luo Feng was truly remarkable.

"All right, Luo Feng. Keep pushing forward. Once you reach the third form of the Thunderblade, I'll personally recommend you to the Elite Training Camp."

Rowan was curious to see the looks on Victor Gale and Thor's faces when they discovered that his protégé had also reached Wargod-level within a single year.

The other students in the camp? They'd probably collapse in despair.

"Got it!" Luo Feng grinned, his confidence restored.

Cultivation no longer felt so daunting it was fun. And slaying monsters in the wild? Strangely therapeutic.

After ending the call, Rowan logged into War God Palace.

He had always loved its cuisine and fine wine.

Naturally, he checked if the Enchantress was online. Meals were always more enjoyable with beauty as company.

She wasn't. So he sent a greeting.

Within half a minute, her status turned green.

To Rowan's surprise, Victor Gale's icon lit up as well.

That was rare. Unless something critical was happening, Victor seldom logged into War God Palace.

A message came:

"Rowan, meet me in the third-floor chamber. I need to speak with you."

Rowan blinked. A mission?

But why not just call? Why through War God Palace?

Still, he followed the instructions.

The third floor was usually reserved for high-level meetings of Speakers and Councilors, complete with private chambers reserved exclusively for them.

Though Rowan's power now stood at planetary ninth rank, he had not revealed this nor applied for the Speaker position.

Guided by Victor's directions, he entered one such chamber.

"Rowan, you're here."

Victor sat cross-legged upon a cushion, brewing tea. He looked up with a smile.

Rowan took the seat opposite. "Master, what is this about?"

Victor slid him a cup, calm but smiling. "Drink first. No rush."

Rowan complied, though inwardly confused. Surely this wasn't just idle chatter?

Victor only spoke after half a cup had been drained. "Rowan, I wanted to ask your opinion."

Rowan raised a brow.

Victor smiled. "What do you think of the Enchantress?"

Rowan froze. That was… unexpected.

"She's wonderful," he answered honestly. "Beautiful, independent, and gentle in private. Easy to be around."

Victor's smile deepened. "And as your girlfriend?"

Rowan's eyes widened. He hadn't expected Victor to play matchmaker. Wasn't the man supposed to be the epitome of stoic authority?

"Of course," Rowan replied after only a heartbeat. He wouldn't chase her outright, but if someone tore down the barrier, he certainly wouldn't object. And clearly Victor wouldn't have asked without knowing her feelings too.

"Good. Then it's settled," Victor said cheerfully. "From now on, she's yours to cherish."

To him, the Enchantress was like a daughter. Entrusting her to Rowan gave him joy. As a father-in-law, he couldn't have chosen better.

Victor raised his voice. "Enchantress, come out."

From behind a screen, light footsteps sounded.

A woman emerged, clad in a violet gown designed like battle armor yet laced with elegance.

Rowan looked up and was stunned.

The golden mask she always wore was gone. Her flawless face was revealed: emerald eyes framed by long lashes, lips soft and full, features delicately sculpted yet strikingly bold. A faint blush painted her cheeks, making her beauty almost overwhelming.

Even Rowan, who had seen Wanda Maximoff's allure, found himself breathless.

Compared to her, Wanda seemed dimmer. That was how rare her beauty was.

The Enchantress lowered her gaze, cheeks aflame.

Victor smiled warmly. "From today, you will no longer be my guard. I appoint you High Inspector of the Federation."

"What?"

She looked up in shock.

Victor continued: "The Federation has six major base cities. The High Inspector oversees all members of the Limitless Dojo within them. Any violations you find punish first, report later."

The Enchantress stared, stunned. Rowan too was surprised.

Victor was essentially handing her control over the entire Federation's dojo system.

It was a position of immense power.

But she understood. This was his way of blessing her union with Rowan his gift of dowry.

Her blush deepened, though her lips curved faintly.

"Do your duty well," Victor advised.

"Yes," she whispered, nodding quickly.

Satisfied, Victor rose. "Good. Then I'll leave you two to talk."

Without waiting for Rowan to respond, he vanished.

Leaving Rowan and the Enchantress alone.

Rowan stepped closer, gaze alight. The violet gown suited her perfectly, even more than any cosplay outfit he'd seen before.

"You're breathtaking tonight," he said, taking her slender hand without hesitation.

Her body jolted as though shocked, ears flushing crimson.

Rowan tilted her chin up gently, meeting her emerald eyes.

"The Master asked earlier," he said softly. "But tell me yourself is this truly your wish? If it is, you can't take it back."

Her eyes shimmered like autumn waters, and her silence told him everything he needed to know.
