But before he could move a couple steps forward, he soon realized that he didn't know where he was, and also didn't know where to go, so how was he going to find help? The afternoon sky above him brought with it the intense desert heat from the sun above, that made him sweat greatly.
Strangely, as he was starting to panic again and look around frantically for a direction to head towards, he strangely noticed that below his feet, a large, dark grey, stone made, sun dial of sorts was placed. The stone dial was partially covered in sand, which made it hard for him to notice when he had first arrived, but now that he was frantically looking everywhere for an exit from this dastardly place, he finally stumbled upon its unique structure.
Seeing the stone dial that was covered in sand brought him a momentary calm, as curiosity took over his mind. He then bent down to look closely at the circular stone dial that surrounded him, and was larger than a house in width.
Strangely, as he was inspecting the dial, although he couldn't see the entire dial, he noticed that parts of the stone dial that were visible seemed to contain letters he had seen before. These letters were slightly similar to those on the cover of the pamphlet-like book that his father gave him, before the book transformed into a black, hard cover textbook.
Noticing this caused him to look towards the black book in his right hand in curiosity. But just as he was about to open the book to have a look inside, he felt a large shadow cover him. Looking up he saw a sort of rectangular creature flying above him. The creature had a greyish black exoskeleton, and levitated silently above him in a menacing manner.
Underneath the creature, were glowing patterns that made the boy slightly afraid. He couldn't help but believe the creature above him was capable of using some sort of levitation black magic witchcraft to power its flight, because he didn't see any wings on the creature.
While the boy was looking upwards, inspecting the creature, he saw a teenager, who looked to be in his late teens jump down from the opened mouth of the creature. The teenager that jumped down was covered in a grey colored shirt, and grey pants that were made in a material that the boy couldn't recognize.
The teenager after falling for a couple of seconds in the air strangely started to float while the soles of his feet glowed in a light grey color.
Seeing the strange teenager jump down from the mouth of the creature, the boy didn't know whether to be afraid of him or be glad that he finally found someone who could help him escape the desert around him.
