Chapter 7 — The Day the Mute Spoke
As Maruyama Shōji led half of the Final Guard Unit up the emergency staircase, cutting through cursed spirits along the way, they finally burst through the rooftop door—
And froze at the scene before them.
There, standing at the edge of the rooftop, was a silver-haired boy gripping a long katana.
A massive hole behind him pierced down through five entire floors of the building—leaving a gaping wound through concrete and steel.
Beside the crater, the last wisps of a pink, translucent Cursed Spirit were being carried off by the wind.
The boy slowly turned to face them.
His ice-blue eyes sparked with a quiet, electric light. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he met their stunned gazes.
"G-Gojo Satoru?!"
Maruyama's voice cracked with disbelief. For a split second, he truly thought he was looking at the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer alive—the man he'd only seen once in his life, who had boldly declared:
"Above the heavens and beneath the heavens, I alone am supreme!"
Yes, that man—Gojo Satoru, born with the Six Eyes, master of the Limitless Technique, and recognized as the most powerful Special Grade Sorcerer in the world.

Kyoto — Zenin Clan Estate
Several lower-ranked members of the clan's Second Unit were gathered, gossiping about the most talked-about name within the Zenin family.
"Hey, have you heard the rumors? That mute kid... what was his name again? Zenin Kyūjō, right? Ogi's son. I heard he soloed two Grade 2 Cursed Spirits on that last Final Guard mission!"
"No way. Don't joke like that! He's only twelve, isn't he? Last I heard, his innate talent was garbage. How could he take down even one Grade 2, let alone two?!"
"Hehe, Hayato, don't be so quick to dismiss it. I've been on medical leave the past few days, so I've heard a lot. When the Final Guard returned, the Clan Head himself personally welcomed Kyūjō. They talked for a long time in the main hall. If you ask me... we're all in serious trouble."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean you guys. The ones who used to mock Ogi's kids all the time. You used to call Kyūjō a 'stupid mute,' 'clan reject,' 'cripple.' Lucky for me—I kept my mouth shut."
The room suddenly went quiet.
It was true. Many of them had ridiculed and bullied Ogi's children in the past.
One of the younger members muttered nervously, "This is bad… If Kyūjō really can kill a Grade 2 Curse, then offing someone like me would be as easy as breaking a twig. We have to apologize. We should go to his house now—beg for forgiveness!"
But Asahi Hayato, clearly irritated, scoffed.
"Why should we apologize? Weren't we telling the truth back then? He was garbage. He's still mute, isn't he? He's a freak."
"And those sisters of his—Maki and Mai—weren't they considered failures too? Even their own father, Ogi-sama, said so repeatedly."
"If Ogi himself thinks his kids are trash, why can't we say it too? Come on, this is the Zenin way. The weak don't deserve respect."
After shrugging, Hayato added casually, "Besides, being a Grade 2 Sorcerer isn't some huge deal. I'm already prepping for my promotion exam."
"And Ogi-sama and I get along fine. If his kids weren't so weak, he'd probably be Clan Head already. When he gets back, I'll talk to him. I'm sure he won't care about something this minor."
"All we need to do is avoid that mute freak for now."
Hayato spoke without an ounce of guilt.
Completely unaware…
That Zenin Ogi—on his way home at that very moment—was about to receive a "gift" ten years in the making.
And it would not be a warm welcome.

Later that afternoon…
After a ride on the fastest Shinkansen, Zenin Ogi returned to the Zenin residence.
A self-satisfied grin spread across his face as he entered the yard. The moment he saw his family waiting, smiling, he instinctively raised his chin with arrogant pride and barked,
"Kyūjō. Come with me."
Kyūjō responded with a small smile.
He calmly stepped forward, stretching his fingers as he walked.
A faint series of cracking sounds echoed as his knuckles flexed in the air.
Standing face-to-face with the man who had only ever been a "father" in name, Kyūjō looked directly into his eyes—
And for the first time in his life…
He spoke.
"This pathetic excuse of a man is my father? Do me a favor."
"From this moment on, don't ever show your face in front of us again."
"Even breathing the same air as you makes me sick. Every breath you take stinks of cowardice."
The yard fell silent.
So quiet that even a pin drop might've echoed like thunder.
— — —
"K-Kyūjō... he... he spoke?"
Zenin Mai was the first to break the silence, her eyes wide with disbelief.
Even Maki, usually composed and stoic, stood frozen.
And Arisa, their mother… her eyes welled with tears. A trembling breath escaped her lips as her hands rose to cover her mouth.
So he wasn't mute after all…
All this time, her son had chosen silence.
But only one person in that moment heard the meaning behind Kyūjō's words.
Zenin Ogi.
"You insolent brat! I'll kill you where you stand!!"
Fury erupted from his lungs. His hand flew to the hilt of his katana.
Kyūjō's words had cut deeper than steel. They pierced through his rotting pride, igniting the rage he'd always carried.
To Ogi, Kyūjō wasn't his son.
He was a threat to his authority. A stain to be erased.
Just like in the original timeline—when Ogi, blinded by shame, drew his sword against his daughters…
But unlike that version of events—
This Kyūjō had never watched Jujutsu Kaisen.
He didn't know what would have happened.
If he had…
Zenin Ogi's fate might not have ended with just a verbal warning.
And perhaps, the entire Zenin Clan should thank the stars…
That Kyūjō had chosen to speak instead of burn.
