"Won't you need physical bodies to use your full strength?" Aaric asked them, though the tone of his voice made it clear it was more of a statement than a question.
He had not given them physical bodies yet, which daemons and spirits needed to avoid dispersing into the ether and, more importantly, to replenish their energy.
The daemons standing in front of him would not need bodies for perhaps a thousand years with the sheer amount of magic they currently possessed.
However, they would not be able to replenish their own magic naturally. With the slow dissipation of their reserves, they would eventually be sent back to the daemon realm to be reformed and would have to be summoned all over again.
It was not a problem for Aaric to make bodies for them, and he was just about to begin the process when space warped beside him.
Fleur, Luna, and Daphne teleported in, instantly engulfing him in their embrace.
"What were you up to?" Daphne asked him.
She looked around, observing the drastic changes made to the island and the seven daemons standing in front of her boyfriend.
Aaric explained what he had done for the day and introduced the girls to the daemons.
"I was just about to give them bodies when you guys arrived," Aaric concluded his story with a shrug.
"You are too generous, My Lord," Albedo said softly.
She had silver-white hair that shimmered in the ambient light, and a pair of pink horns and eyes that contrasted beautifully with her pale features. Aaric just smiled at the daemons.
To him, forming bodies for them was really just a matter of waving his hand.
"How are you going to make bodies for them?" Fleur asked with a curious tilt of her head.
"Well, like this," Aaric answered.
He glanced to the side.
The magic in the area condensed as seven large glass containers materialized in the area, filled with a purple liquid which was pure magic condensed into a liquid form.
He then took out some Septem Orichalcum, a metal he had made using the energies of the seven daemons themselves. He divided the metal into seven equal parts and placed a piece into each of the seven containers.
"The metal will form their bones, and the magic will form their skin and muscles. All we need now are magic cores to help them replenish their magic," he said, giving the daemons a glance.
"Splendid, My Lord. With the metal having our own magical signatures, we will be able to mold it ourselves," Glacie of the blue lineage complimented him.
He stepped closer to observe the metal with a keen eye, he had shown an interest in smithing when Aaric had asked the daemons their interests.
"We can just use the magic cores from any wolf or serpent that may have passed away on this island," Virdis suggested, gesturing to the ample quantities of magical creatures roaming around them.
"Creatures of our world don't leave magic cores when they pass or are slain," Luna said with a shake of her head.
Noctelle chirped in agreement from atop her shoulder. The daemons seemed surprised at her words and even more curious about the world they were in now.
They had noticed that they had not heard the Voice of the World during their evolution after they were named.
Even when they had gained skills on par with the Ultimate Skills of their original world, it was different. Back there, it was as if they were given the knowledge of the skill by an external force as they evolved.
Here, with the new intrinsic skills, they felt their bodies changing fundamentally to integrate the skill into the magic that formed their very existence.
They found they liked this method more than the system of their old world as they had enjoyed the fundamental shift in the raw magic their forms were made of.
Daphne looked at the pet serpent resting on her shoulder and caressed its cheek affectionately. She reached into her pouch and took out seven of her smaller scales, placing them in front of the daemons.
Fleur waved her hand over the offering. She converted the trace amounts of divine energy in the scales into solidified Lunar energy.
This would have the effect of granting the daemons an affinity for lunar magic. They did not wish to give the daemons raw divine energy, figuring it was not good if too many beings possessed it, as it would eventually disrupt the balance.
With their own senses, they could observe that the daemons were already on par with some of the lesser gods of the waking realm they had met, at least in terms of pure destructive power.
"T-thank you, My Ladies," Fulgor said with a deep bow, although she had a little bit of a stutter in her voice. "Are all wizards in your world this... powerful?"
She asked the question with a twitching eyebrow, amazed at how easy the people in front of her made the impossible look.
By now she had understood that Aaric did not really need them to transform the island they were on; he could have just done that with a wave of his hand.
"Oh, no. Not even close. It is just the people around him," Daphne said with a chuckle.
She linked hands with Aaric, wearing a mischievous expression. The seven daemons looked at each other and secretly sighed in relief before picking up the improved magic cores and moving toward the seven glass incubators ready to form their bodies.
They entered the incubators. Their magic surged around them, adding itself to the liquid magic in the tanks. Their cores formed a connection with the solution instantly, as if they were made for them specifically.
The magical metal reformed itself like water, flowing into place before solidifying like diamond as it shaped itself into their intended skeletons.
The daemons sent out a magical pulse from their incubators as they bonded with the Dark Island and its inhabitants on a fundamental level.
One by one, the wolves, serpents, and dementors of the island fell into a deep slumber as they formed a connection with the daemons and began to evolve in their own ways.
Aaric and the girls observed the process for a moment before they teleported away to let things play out as they may.
They appeared in Aaric's room.
Fleur gave him a quick kiss and left, citing that she had to be with Madam Maxime for the evening.
Aaric smiled and went out of his room with Luna and Daphne. They did not find many students in the common room, so they started walking toward the Black Lake to meet up with the rest of their friends at their usual spot.
They looked at each other when they saw Ron and Draco bickering about something while Harry tried desperately to mitigate the dispute.
"How about we solve this dispute in the dueling ring?" Aaric suggested just as he reached the group.
"Fire, meet oil," Hermione said out loud as she looked at Aaric in exasperation.
"Or maybe I am just suggesting a way to make these two best friends," Aaric said with a shrug.
Even Daphne and Luna looked at him incredulously at that statement.
"Why would I expect honor from him when he can't even help his own friends?" Ron scoffed as he turned away from Draco with a huff.
Aaric looked at Harry and raised an eyebrow in a silent question.
"It is my mistake. I asked Draco if he could help me enter the Slytherin dorms and he disagreed. Which I understand. I was being unreasonable anyway," Harry said with a shake of his head.
"Why do you want to go there anyway?" Aaric asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't know really. I got a hint, like a whisper from the locket," Harry said, gesturing to the heavy gold locket adorning his neck.
Aaric nodded in understanding as he got the full picture. Harry now had the locket of Slytherin, and it seemed to be pointing him toward something hidden in the Slytherin dorms.
For this, Harry had asked Draco to take him there. The Malfoy heir had disagreed out of loyalty to his House, which had angered Ron.
"Well, I don't think anyone is at fault here. So stop with the pouting," Aaric told Ron with a wave of his hand.
He raised a hand to silence Ron when the redhead tried to speak.
"As a Weasley and a Gryffindor, I think you can appreciate loyalty, Ron," Aaric stated with a raised eyebrow.
Ron let out a sigh and gave a reluctant nod after a moment of thought.
"We will find another way," Harry said with a shrug after a bit.
He respected the loyalty Draco showed. That did not mean he would not use the Invisibility Cloak to sneak into the Slytherin dorm later in the night.
Ars arrived shortly after that and started lifting the mood of the group as he began telling everyone a story about his recent escapades.
