The Boy Who Always Chose Others
Morning sunlight spilled across the quiet schoolyard, warm and ordinary — the kind of day no one would ever suspect could turn into something terrifying.
Students gathered near the school buses, laughing and arguing over snacks and music.
Among them stood a boy whose presence rarely demanded attention, yet somehow made everyone feel comfortable.
Sang-Jaey.
An orphan.
A quiet teenager who had learned to live without expecting much from the world.
Yet strangely… he always gave everything he had to others.
A classmate bumped into him while rushing toward the bus.
Classmate ,apologetic,
"Ah! Sorry, Sang!"
Sang-Jaey , gentle smile,
"It's okay. You didn't fall, so we're good."
Another student struggled to lift a heavy bag filled with picnic supplies.
Before she could ask, Sang-Jaey had already picked it up.
Girl ,surprised,
"You don't have to carry everything!"
Sang-Jaey ,lighthearted,
"It's fine. If I carry it, you can enjoy the trip."
The teacher clapped his hands loudly, gathering everyone's attention.
Teacher ,energetic,
"Alright everyone! The buses are ready. Our mountain picnic starts now!"
Cheers erupted.
None of them knew that the very mountain they were traveling toward… had already become the center of something far beyond human understanding.
The place where the mysterious spell had fallen.
And the place where fate was quietly waiting.
A Message Hidden Inside the Spell
Deep inside the underground laboratories of SSR, the atmosphere was completely different.
The air hummed with machines.
Screens flickered with endless streams of data.
Scientists stood around the strange fragment of the spell, their faces lit by its faint unnatural glow.
This was no ordinary object.
It looked like shattered glass.
Yet it pulsed with something alive.
Dr. Kwan leaned closer to the scanning monitor as the machine slowly decoded symbols etched within the fragment.
The room fell silent.
Lines of text began appearing on the screen.
Incomplete.
Broken.
But unmistakably deliberate.
Scientist ,shocked whisper,
"Doctor… it's not natural."
Dr. Kwan's eyes narrowed.
Dr. Kwan ,serious,
"What do you mean?"
The scientist pointed to the monitor.
Scientist ,uneasy,
"This object wasn't formed by cosmic forces…"
A pause filled the room.
Scientist ,quiet realization,
"It was made."
Murmurs spread through the laboratory.
Someone… somewhere… had created this.
And sent it across space.
Suddenly the machine beeped again.
More symbols translated into readable text.
Only fragments.
Yet enough to freeze the entire room.
The decoded message appeared slowly across the screen.
"The savior of worlds and the savior…
and the savior contains a mar…
T-blood…"
The room became eerily silent.
Dr. Kwan stared at the words for a long moment.
His mind raced.
A savior.
Mark.
T-blood.
What did it mean?
And more importantly…
Who was it referring to?
The Search for Rare Blood
Dr. Kwan finally straightened his posture.
His voice cut through the laboratory like a command.
Dr. Kwan ,decisive,
"Dr. Shine."
A woman standing beside the analysis console turned immediately.
Dr. Shine ,attentive,
"Yes, Doctor?"
Dr. Kwan pointed toward the message glowing on the screen.
Dr. Kwan ,calm but intense,
"Begin a global database search."
Dr. Shine frowned slightly.
Dr. Shine ,curious,
"For what exactly?"
Dr. Kwan's eyes sharpened.
Dr. Kwan ,quiet determination,
"For rare blood types."
The room stirred again.
Dr. Shine immediately began typing commands into the system.
Dr. Shine ,focused,
"If the message is referring to a specific genetic marker… we might be able to locate a match."
Dr. Kwan folded his arms, staring at the glowing spell fragment.
Dr. Kwan ,murmuring to himself,
"If this object crossed the universe just to reach Earth…"
His gaze darkened.
Dr. Kwan , low voice,
"Then someone here must be the key or someone that destined it ."
A Picnic Beneath the Same Sky
Hours later, the mountains echoed with laughter instead of machine noise.
The school buses had arrived.
Students poured out excitedly, stretching and breathing in the cool mountain air.
Tall trees swayed gently as sunlight filtered through the leaves.
The world looked peaceful.
Carefree.
Sang-Jaey sat on a large rock with a lunchbox in his hand while his classmates played nearby.
One of his friends nudged him.
Friend , grinning,
"Why are you sitting there like an old man? Come play!"
Sang-Jaey chuckled softly.
Sang-Jaey ,relaxed,
"I'm enjoying the view."
The wind brushed through the mountains.
Birds chirped above.
For a brief moment…
Everything felt perfectly normal.
Then—
A deep thunderous sound exploded from the top of the mountain.
The ground trembled.
Students froze.
The sky above them suddenly twisted.
As if reality itself had been ripped open.
A massive tear appeared in the air.
A swirling portal of darkness began expanding across the sky.
Wind roared violently around it.
Someone screamed.
The Monster from Beyond
From the heart of the portal…
Something emerged.
A creature unlike anything humanity had ever seen.
Its body resembled a distorted human form, yet its muscles twisted unnaturally beneath dark skin.
Its eyes glowed with cold intelligence.
The moment its feet touched the mountain ground…
The air itself seemed to recoil.
The creature lifted its head, scanning the surroundings.
It could feel something.
An energy.
Unknown.
Dangerous.
And somewhere on this planet.
Humans.
Hundreds of them.
The creature's expression twisted with hostility.
Humankind Monster ,low growl,
"Grrrr..."
Without hesitation…
It attacked.
A single swing of its arm sent a group of fleeing hikers crashing across the rocks.
Screams erupted everywhere.
Students scattered in panic.
Teachers shouted desperately.
Teacher , panicked,
"Run! Everyone run to the bus!"
The Choice of a Hero
Sang-Jaey ran with the others, his heart pounding violently in his chest.
Fear clawed at his mind.
The monster was slaughtering people without hesitation.
No one could stop it.
Then suddenly—
A small boy tripped and fell onto the dirt path.
The monster noticed him immediately.
Its massive shadow loomed over the trembling child.
The creature raised its arm.
Ready to strike.
People kept running.
No one dared to turn back.
Except one person.
Sang-Jaey stopped.
His mind raced.
If I keep running…
That boy will die.
His hands trembled.
His legs felt weak.
But his heart refused to move forward.
Instead…
He turned around.
Sang-Jaey ,determined whisper,
"…I can't ignore this."
Without another second of hesitation—
Sang-Jaey ran straight toward the monster.
Toward death.
Toward something far greater than he could possibly understand.
And toward the moment that would change the fate of the world.
