"Alright, I've troubled you these past few days."
Mystogan did not try to persuade him to stay but instead sincerely thanked Marco.
"We're all family, no need to be so polite."
Marco waved his hand, indicating that Mystogan didn't need to say such things.
"By the way, would you like to come back with me? The old man has important news to announce and has gathered almost all the members. As an S-Class Mage of the guild, I think you should be there too."
After waving his hand, Marco suddenly remembered this matter and casually extended the invitation.
He still considered Mystogan a part of the guild, so naturally, he couldn't leave him out.
"Is it something very important?" Marco's seriousness caught Mystogan off guard, and he inquired earnestly.
"Of course, it's about the appointment of the next guild master."
Marco blinked and revealed Master Makarov's plan.
"The appointment of the next guild master? It must be you, right?"
Regarding this candidate, Mystogan spoke without hesitation.
In Mystogan's heart, there was no doubt that the next guild master could only be Marco.
He would never accept anyone else as guild master, not even Gildarts.
"I suppose so." Marco replied with a smile, not keeping it a secret.
This had already been agreed upon. If the old man suddenly changed his mind on the spot, then he would be the one causing a stir.
After all, he had been promoted for so long—how could it suddenly be switched to someone else?
"Then I must go."
Mystogan didn't hesitate and immediately made a decision.
Since it was about announcing Marco as the successor to the guild master, he definitely had to be there to support his good friend.
Of course, if the candidate wasn't Marco, then he would have even more reason to attend.
He would have to ask the old guild master what he was thinking—who could be more qualified than Marco to be the next guild master?
"Then let's go together."
Marco tilted his head, signaling for Mystogan to hurry and follow.
"Wait a moment, I need to hand over my duties."
Mystogan naturally couldn't leave so abruptly.
It was a busy time, and even if he were to disappear for a while, he had to make arrangements first to avoid anyone looking for him and not finding him.
Mystogan called over his "personal assistant," Coco, and told her to cover for him.
If anyone came looking, she was to say he was resting.
Only then did he follow Marco back to Earth Land.
Marco, clad in the solemn Gemini Gold Cloth, emerged from the crack in Another Dimension Space with Mystogan.
The two of them went directly to the backyard of the Fairy Tail guild, where quite a few people had already gathered.
It was still early compared to the time Master Makarov had set, but everyone had arrived at the guild early to wait.
Seeing Marco and Mystogan appear, everyone immediately gathered around, mainly because of Mystogan's presence.
Since the "Edolas Great Expedition," although Mystogan himself had never returned, everyone had learned most of the details about him and the world of Edolas.
There was no helping it.
The guild members who had personally participated in the "Great Expedition" couldn't keep their mouths shut.
They never missed an opportunity to show off, especially those who had fought against "Dorma Anim."
These days, they couldn't stop boasting at every turn.
As for Mystogan, who had succeeded the throne, taken charge of the "Kingdom of Edolas," and even accomplished the incredible feat of dispersing the magic of an entire world, he left many people utterly astonished.
Nowadays, everyone was eager to chat with Mystogan for a few moments, given how mysterious he had always been within the guild.
"Sigh~ I feel a bit redundant now."
Watching the immensely popular Mystogan, Marco shook his head with a wry smile.
"Then you take over. I'm still not used to this."
Faced with everyone's enthusiasm, Mystogan felt rather embarrassed and quickly pulled Marco over to help him out of the situation.
In truth, Mystogan had instinctively wanted to start hypnotizing everyone, but he immediately remembered that he no longer used magic.
His magic staff had already lost its power and was no longer carried with him, so naturally, he couldn't use hypnosis anymore.
Regarding this, Marco had offered to "recharge" it for him in "Earth Land," allowing him to continue using it in the world of "Edolas."
However, Mystogan had refused this solution.
It was Mystogan who had dispersed all the magic in the world of "Edolas," setting "Edolas" on a path of technology and freeing its people from the concerns of magic.
If he himself continued to use magic? That would be rather unbecoming.
At the very least, in the world of "Edolas," Mystogan would no longer use magic.
He had to lead by example.
Marco chuckled, waving his hand as he pushed Mystogan back out, urging him to go and bond properly with his enthusiastic guildmates.
Marco wasn't about to shield Mystogan from the crowd.
Now, he needed to seize the moment to enjoy some peace and quiet.
Once the old man announced the news later, it would be his turn to be surrounded.
Mystogan had no choice but to patiently answer everyone's questions.
Fortunately, everyone was quite considerate, asking only questions that weren't too difficult to answer.
Before long, Old Man Makarov had already arrived at the scene.
With the old man's arrival, some of the attention naturally shifted away from Mystogan.
Many people gathered around Makarov, trying to pry out what exactly was going to be announced.
Even though it was something that would be revealed shortly, they couldn't resist asking, as if not doing so would leave them unsatisfied.
Makarov, of course, remained tight-lipped, continuously drinking from a bottle of alcohol.
No matter who asked, he didn't utter a single word.
It wasn't until the agreed-upon time arrived and all the guild members had gathered that Makarov finally set down his bottle.
By then, a large crowd had gathered by the lakeside in the backyard.
Everyone in the guild had made time for this day.
After all, Master Makarov had spoken with great seriousness about having important news to announce, so naturally, no one dared to take it lightly.
Makarov's gaze swept over the guild members present, finally settling on the few "S-Class Mages."
