Chapter 508 - CHAPTER 507

Chapter 507: Betrayal of Justice!

The newcomer wore a black robe with a tall crown atop their head.

Their figure appeared quite tall and slender.

Without a doubt, this person could only be the shadowy hand lurking behind the world, the one who'd ruled the world for 800 years: Lord Imu.

Although Brett couldn't see Imu's appearance clearly, he knew this person was watching him.

This person actually appeared in person right now?

Brett felt somewhat surprised.

Didn't this person know what appearing in this place at this moment meant?

Looks like there was no need for him to fan the flames himself now.

"Who is this person?"

As Lord Imu made their entrance, kings from around the world fell into confusion.

To brazenly pass through the guards outside the conference hall and even stand beside the Five Elders?

Could this be some important figure among the Celestial Dragons?

Then something even more unbelievable appeared before the assembled kings.

When this person appeared, the Five Elders actually bent down and knelt before them!!

"What's going on!"

A king had already stood up in terror. He screamed almost at the top of his lungs!!

Many others shared his disbelief, or rather everyone except Brett.

"Hey hey hey, what's happening? Am I seeing things?"

Ryokugyu's eyes nearly flew from their sockets. His mouth hung completely agape in shock. "The Five Elders are actually kneeling to him! Who the hell is this person!!"

The Five Elders were the world's highest authority. This was natural, the consensus of everyone worldwide!!

How could there possibly be someone in the Government with higher status than them? Even among Celestial Dragons, the Five Elders were the highest ranking!

How could there possibly be someone in the world who could make them kneel?

Amid everyone's shock, the Five Elders remained quite calm.

Since this lord had chosen to appear, they no longer needed to make decisions.

They only needed to quietly obey this lord's commands.

"This should be the first time we've truly met, shouldn't it?"

Completely ignoring everyone's shocked reactions, a muffled voice came from beneath the black robe. "Fish-Man Brett, I've long wanted to meet you personally."

"Same here."

Brett's lips curved. "But I thought it would be on the final battlefield."

"How do you know today won't be your final one?"

The muffled voice, impossible to determine gender or age from, carried a hint of amusement. "I've personally appeared before you. Did you still think you could leave unscathed?"

"Won't know until I try." Brett said casually.

"However, speaking of which, you seem completely unsurprised by my existence."

Lord Imu's voice sounded somewhat astonished.

"Of course, because I already knew about your existence."

Brett said with a smile. "Imu."

"..."

The Five Elders, still kneeling, widened their eyes.

Brett actually knew about Lord Imu's existence!

Could it be...

"Oh, so you've already found what Joy Boy left behind?"

Imu's reaction was much calmer than the Five Elders'.

"Correct."

Brett smiled. "Without understanding the World Government's true nature, we wouldn't dare rashly declare war on you."

"Brett!!"

The Five Elders ground their teeth.

This bastard had already found that legendary great treasure?

"So, Brett."

Miss Gion asked with a grave expression. "Who exactly is this person?"

A World Government leader above the Five Elders? This was something she'd never heard of before!

How could such a thing exist? How could such a person exist?

"This person?"

Brett smiled, then deliberately raised his voice. "Let me introduce them properly."

"Call them Imu. The true master of the Empty Throne that supposedly no one sits upon."

"The person who personally established the World Government 800 years ago."

"800 years ago? Are you serious?"

Ryokugyu was dumbfounded. "Does this person have a longer lifespan than the Giant Clan?"

The assembled kings were equally bewildered.

Since earlier, a succession of events had happened too quickly and too numerously. They couldn't keep up at all.

"Of course it's true. This person has been manipulating the World Government for 800 years. They're truly an existence that could be called the World Emperor."

Brett said with feeling.

"World Emperor?"

Lord Imu nodded slightly, their voice also taking on amusement. "That doesn't sound bad."

"No denial?"

Chaton swallowed. "So this person really has lived 800 years and been manipulating the Government all this time?"

The World Government they thought was equal and free had actually been this person's plaything all along?

Just realizing this was enough to make one's scalp tingle!

"Don't misunderstand. I tired of manipulating the world hundreds of years ago."

Lord Imu said calmly. "Wealth, power, fame, everything was within easy reach. Believe me, feeling excited about it only lasted the first century or two."

"Now I only want peaceful rest. Occasionally when I wake, I watch over this world I love."

Everyone fell silent as cicadas.

Though Imu's voice was flat, everyone felt an overwhelming pressure bearing down on them.

"But, Brett."

An invisible gaze focused on Brett. "You've made it impossible for me to sleep peacefully."

"What a coincidence."

Brett said with a smile. "This world with you in it also makes it impossible for me to sleep peacefully."

"Is that so?"

Imu's voice was full of amusement. "What a coincidence indeed."

"Then let's decide here who gets to sleep comfortably in the coming years."

"Before that, we have a question!"

Before Brett could speak, Vice Admiral Garp stepped forward. He questioned loudly, "What exactly does the Navy mean to the Government!!"

If this Imu was the Government's emperor, then wasn't the Navy just this person's private army?

"The Navy acts for justice, doesn't it?"

Imu said as if it were obvious. "The entire world belongs to me, so naturally I am justice."

Such arrogance!

Vice Admiral Garp ground his teeth.

"But it no longer matters anyway."

Then Imu said this. "After this war ends, I'll cleanse the entire world."

"You are no longer needed."

All the Navy fell silent.

An earth-shattering declaration.
