Chapter 41 - Three Sentences to Get Batman Jailed

Looked at horizontally, it's a range; looked at sideways, it's a peak.

Connors had never experienced such a profound understanding of this poem, especially when the three women were awakened one by one and sat up with varying degrees of swaying.

"Catwoman" Selina almost reflexively leaped out of bed, taking the thin quilt with her. By the time she landed on the ground, the quilt was tightly wrapped around her body.

Harley Quinn and "Poison Ivy" Ivy, who reacted a beat slower, had different reactions upon seeing that the person who had arrived was Connors.

Harley Quinn immediately lay back down to sleep, but her arms were raised high, clearly indicating an intention to hug.

"Poison Ivy" Ivy looked down at her towering snowy peaks and asked Connors:

"Is it time to do something serious?"

She was still thinking about how, before going to find "Catwoman" Selina during the day, Connors had avoided discussing whether it was "something serious."

Connors, just like before, avoided the topic: "Sorry to bother you. I'll go sleep in the living room."

Hearing Connors say he was going to the living room, "Catwoman" Selina, who was huddled in the corner tightly wrapped in the thin quilt, seemed to let out a sigh of relief. Only then did she notice that Harley and Ivy were unclothed, and she quickly threw the quilt she was wearing over to them.

I need to discuss things with Batman first thing tomorrow morning, so let's call a temporary truce. Connors lay on the sofa in the living room,

Bored, he controlled the ever-changing cactus in the house next door to the one next door.

Where is the cactus?

Connors looked towards that house with confusion. The Green could no longer sense any plant aura there, so they must have discarded the cactus.

But that didn't stop him. A seed sprouted from his pocket, then the tender shoot constantly wriggled, crawling out the window like a spider, and grew back into the shape of a cactus, appearing on the windowsill of that house.

The next day, Connors was woken up by the expected urgent police siren. The male owner of the house next door to the one next door woke up to find the discarded cactus had appeared on his balcony again, and he decisively chose to call the police again.

"Harley, you drive and take them towards Arkham Asylum first. I'll find Batman on my own."

As the supercar drove on the road, Connors said to Harley Quinn, who was sitting in the passenger seat admiring her nails beautifully.

"Me? Oh~" Although Harley Quinn had always been planning to stir up some trouble, she had no objection to Connors's arrangements.

After all, according to the plan agreed upon last night, she would be responsible for the part of the plan to lock Batman in Arkham Asylum, while Connors would only be responsible for communicating with Batman.

In Harley Quinn's opinion, it was likely that Connors would lure Batman, bring him near Arkham Asylum, and then she would take action to lock him up.

So, after Connors leaped out of the window of the speeding supercar, she nimbly moved from the passenger seat to the driver's seat, then twisted the steering wheel, directing the vehicle towards the arms dealer she knew:

"Let's go! Ivy, I'm taking you to get some heavy firepower."

Connors leaped out of the supercar, and "Catwoman" Selina, who was riding alongside the supercar on a motorcycle, also leaped from her motorcycle and nimbly slipped into the supercar, not at all hindering Harley Quinn, who had taken the driver's seat.

"Uh--." Ivy didn't speak. Selina, who had just gotten in, spoke with some hesitation, "Do we need heavy firepower to lock Batman up? What are you planning to get?"

"C4 explosives, Rocket launchers, sniper rifles--whatever works!" Harley Quinn said happily, stepping hard on the accelerator and increasing the supercar's speed.

Transferring from the supercar to the motorcycle, Connors twisted the throttle, turned around, and drove towards Wayne Manor.

Still entering through the main gate, and then taking the hidden elevator in the study to enter the Batcave, Bruce Wayne seemed to have been waiting for Connors's arrival early on.

At this time, he was wearing the Batsuit with its own power system and standing in front of the computer. The computer displayed the trajectory of Superman flying above Wayne Tower in the night sky yesterday.

"You said you had something to discuss in person, what exactly is it?" Bruce Wayne asked Connors, who had rushed over.

"I'm asking you to stay at Arkham for a day," Connors said directly.

"..—You've been there, you should know it's an asylum," Bruce Wayne said with the helmet on his head,

Saying without showing any expression.

"I know." Connors just told Batman the conclusion first, and then began his prepared plan of "Three sentences to make Wayne come with me":

"Joker, Scarecrow, and Riddler were locked up by you before, and then Killer Croc let them out. You should know about this, right?"

"Continue."

"These guys have been causing trouble repeatedly just to exhaust your energy and then lock you up in Arkham. Now that they've escaped, this plan is still ongoing."

"Then I'll just lock them up again, after all, that's where they belong," Batman said without any emotional fluctuation, as if he had long anticipated this matter.

"But before you lock them up, they will inevitably continue to commit crimes, exhausting your energy through a large amount of destruction and casualties," Connors continued.

"..—So, in order to prevent them from continuing to cause destruction, you want me to voluntarily lock myself up in Arkham Asylum?" Batman couldn't help but laugh twice, his voice becoming deeper.

"Ah—I knew it wouldn't be that easy to convince you, luckily I was prepared," Connors said, taking out his phone, finding the pictures he took last night, and handing them to Batman.

The photos showed that the Joker had a map of Gotham Hospital, the Riddler's residence stored a large number of gel explosives, and the Scarecrow was simply living in a laboratory, seemingly developing a new Fear Toxin.

"The purpose behind all these plans is only one, which is to exhaust your energy and then send you to the asylum," Connors said. "Instead of that, why don't you just go in directly?"

The butler Alfred walked out of the elevator with hot coffee, about to hand it to Connors, but after hearing this outrageous plan, he silently took the coffee back.

Batman's mouth twitched, but looking at the photos of the villains clearly plotting their next moves, he was silent for a moment, then nodded:

"Okay, I'll go there, but I need to bring something."

Outside Arkham Asylum, Harley Quinn clapped her hands together to remove the dust and sighed with satisfaction.

"Catwoman" Selina cautiously reached out and touched a mortar placed in front of her, then looked at the large pile of explosives and grenade launchers placed nearby.

These were all obtained by Harley Quinn from the arms dealer. To be precise, the three sisters went in, caused a ruckus, and stole them.

"Isn't this a bit overkill? We're just locking the person up, Connors didn't say we should kill them—" Selina was used to relying on her own skills and felt at a loss in front of the large pile of heavy firepower.

"Look—I even think these weapons aren't enough," Harley Quinn said, standing on the high platform built by "Poison Ivy" Ivy with plants, pointing in one direction.

As soon as she finished speaking, before "Catwoman" Selina could ask what she meant, she felt the ground tremble, followed by increasingly violent tremors coming from a distance.

A batmobile with a Batman symbol, as huge as a mobile fortress, slowly drove from a distance. Even though it was moving on tracks, its massive size and weight were enough to make the ground shake.

Didn't we agree to bring Batman here? How did he bring a tank? Selina thought, looking blankly at the huge Bat-Tank.

But soon she realized something was wrong.

—The Batman symbol she saw at first glance, that was clearly Batman himself wearing giant armor!
