It was dawn inside a dense forest, a boy gathering herbs around the forest named Rynan Merryton, and he was 9 years of age.
Rynan is a human in a world full of mystical beings, including dragons, demons, witches, angels, watchers, and serpents.
He is plucking out herbs and putting them inside the backpack. Rynan was finished plucking out herbs and is now walking back to his village just north of the dense forest from gathering those herbs. This village has wooden walls for protection, only one entrance, guarded by two guards wielding a spear at his hand and carrying a sword sheathed on their hips. This very village is full of humans, but there are many mystical beings hidden, masking themselves as humans. Rynan walked through the entrance shouting, "HELLO GUARDS!!! GOOD MORNING!!" The guards also shout, EHLLO!! KID GOOD MORNING TO YOU TOO!!" Then, Rynan smiled while waving his hand. The guard asked Rynan, "Eyyy kid, what's in your bag?" Rynan replied, "Ohhhhh, it's just herbs." Then, the guard replied, "You're making healing remedies?" "Yeah, I am making healing remedies again, soooo I'm going now bye," Rynan replied to the guard. So, Rynan walked away, waving to the guard walked then he skipped towards his home. Then, when he arrived back at his home, he saw his father sitting in a chair on the balcony of their house, just staring into the vast sky, reminiscing about the old days, feeling the breeze on his body.
When he saw his son down below at the balcony, he smiled at him, a sorrowful smile. His body was stiff, rotting, and unable to move half of his body. Deep inside, he was in sorrow, but kept a smile masking that sorrow, for he thought of himself as a burden to his son, to his family and having this awful condition like a curse. The rot is now at his hip level; he cannot move his legs, and cannot even feel his legs.
Rynan greeted his father in a loud shout, with a smile while waving at his father, "FATHER! FATHER! I AM BACK!" his father replied in a shout, "WELCOME HOME, SON!!" Then, the father smiled gleefully seeing his son.
(Rydel Loramaris is the name of his father. He is a human who was once a hero with a team that was handpicked by the king, who ordered Rydel to defeat the supposedly evil king, but he is now retired and crippled with a curse of necrosis. He almost killed the evil king, but was interrupted by one of the many subordinates of the evil king, who was hiding all along without Rydel and his team noticing, and was stalking them since the first time they entered the castle of the evil king. That subordinate was a sorcerer, and Rydel and his team got bombarded by a barrage of fire spells towards Rydel.
PEEEEEWWWW BOOOOOOM!!! SHHHHHH
and were almost defeated by the subordinate of the evil king. Rydel and his team found an opportunity to run away and flee out of there, so they took advantage because the sorcerer was focusing on Rydel; his team retreated while he bought time for them to escape. After his team got out, he ran towards the gates of the castle, where there is an exit, so he ran as fast as he could towards the exit while balls of fire were flying over him, and luckily got outside the castle with his team. Then they conjured a barrier to the gate so that none of the attacks of the subordinate of the evil king reached them. They waited for the subordinate of the evil king to waste their mana. When they did run out of mana, they immediately ran out of there, and after that, they left the evil king's domain.)
Rynan walked to the door of their house and opened it.
There, he saw Reeve Ivetta, his mother, a human who is knowledgeable in medicine, who was also served part time at a church.
Running back and forth between pots, Rynan's mother asked him, "Did you get the stuff that I ordered you to get in the forest?" Rynan answered, "Yes, Mom, here's a bag full of herbs for the medicine." " OK! Great, take out the herbs, put it on a bowl, and then we mix these ingredients to make a healing potion for your father, Rynan," his mother replied.
Then they make this potion that will ease the pain that the curse is creating for Rynan's father temporarily, and will slow down the rotting of his body. Rynan and Reeve, the mother of Rynan, finished making the potion, so they went upstairs to go to his father on the balcony, sitting on a chair, and made him drink the healing potion, and it worked; it stopped the pain that Rydel, the father of Rynan, was feeling, and the necrosis was slowing down. After they helped Rydel drink the healing potion, they carried him from his chair to the bed to rest.
Reeve, the mother of Rynan, looks outside and sees that it is already nighttime, and goes down from upstairs to cook food for his family for dinner while she orders Rynan to stay beside his father.
Rynan asks his father, "What was it like being a former hero?" his father answered It was cruel and hard, from defeating demons, to giants, accepting quests to help and protect the weak and innocent. Overall, even if it was cruel and hard being a hero, it is the duty of a hero to help the weak and innocent; that's what makes it worth being a hero. So, why'd you ask?" "Nothing much, I'm just curious and in awe that you were a hero before marrying my mother," Rydel answered with a smile at his son, Rynan, while patting his shoulder. His mother arrives at the door holding a plate and bowls of food, and then says to them. "ALRIGHT! Booyyss we eat."
Then they ate together in Rydel's bedroom, the father of Rynan. They ate to the sound of laughter, smiling and grinning, talking about Rydel, the father of Rynan's journey to become a hero. When they were finished eating, Rynan's mother gathered the empty bowls to be washed, but before she left, she said, "It's time to go to bed, Rynan, and let your father rest. " to Rynan and left. Rynan, they went to their respective bedrooms to rest, but before leaving, Rynan, Reeve, and Rydel said goodnight to each other.
When Rynan is on his bed, lying down, he suddenly hears a guttural scream out of nowhere. He gets up from his bed and runs out of his room. When he opened the door to his bedroom, he saw his mother in panic, and he asked in worry, "Mom, what's going on?" "That scream came from your father's room," his mother replied. Then, Rynan went pale white from hearing that, and he immediately rushed towards his father's room. When he got to his father's room, he saw his father in pain, and the curse was now at his chest level. Rynan knelt and asked in anger, "The curse was just around his hips a minute ago? HOOWW!! How did this happen?" and his mother replied, "Maybe the healing potion did not work, and the curse just keeps getting stronger." Then Rynan asked her mother, "What if we make father drink more healing potion? maybe he will get be..." "No...Son," His father interrupted. "It's time to let go, son, hmmff argg huuhuu, let me be at peace," his son Rynan replied. "Nonononono, father, there has to be another way," crying in despair, not wanting his father to die. Rynan's father says to his son, "It's ok, son, you did your best, let me be at peace, let this suffering end."
Rynan is crying like a waterfall falling downstream and Rynan's father's last and final words were "Don't (cough) (cough) wield any sword, son, don't use any sword, don't touch any sword, my biggest regret was wielding that magical sword that I was wielding when I was a hero, that was the source of this curse." Rynan was in shocked that the magical sword was the source of this curse and Rynan asked his father "who gave you the sword father?" Rynan's father was about to tell his son who gave him the sword, "Son, it was argggghh (cough) (cough)" but the curse suddenly hastened and choked out Rynan's father, unable to speak, killing him instantly. In sadness, a scream can be heard throughout the village. They were worried; some hurried and went to the source of the scream, and they went. They arrived at the source and are now extremely worried because it was the house of the former hero Rydel, and when they entered the house and went to the room of Rydel they saw Rydel dead and the curse covered his entire body, rotting. It went quiet for a moment.
Then, a bright light came rising from the window, and Rynan, still kneeling and crying in sorrow, grit his teeth and looked towards his father, then towards the window like a ferocious tiger hunting a prey, and He says in burning raw raging anger, "AAARRRRGGHH, That person who gave my father that magical sword will... pay for this."
