Andria's POV
"You are Aria Wolfsburn?" the straight-faced female detective asked, her wide blue eyes boring holes into my forehead.
"Yes," I replied, keeping my voice steady.
She studied me for a moment, fingers tapping lightly on the metal table between us. The room smelled faintly of disinfectant and old files.
The kind of scent that feels like your fate has been sealed even before you opened your mouth to speak either the truth or a lie.
"I'm Detective Monroe. This is my partner, Detective Hargreeve." She gestured to the man standing near the door, arms folded, gaze unreadable. "We're going to ask you a few questions about what happened tonight."
I nodded. My palms were cold now, despite the warmth in the room.
"Before we begin," she continued, "I hope you understand why you're here?"
"Because two students were found dead in the bathroom at the party I attended," I answered.
"And the cause of death?"
"A vampire's bite, they say," I said quietly.
