Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The One Who Opposes the Gods

Kyle and his teammates were discussing a plan to defeat the God of the Sky when Vivi suddenly locked her gaze in one direction. Everyone felt a surge of divine energy within the sky fortress, mixed with flashing dark energy but both energies vanished completely.

Vivi tried to explain what she sensed, but no one understood her.

Then Vivi's eye glowed. She began using telepathy to speak with Oni and explained that there was a Dark Energy inheritor who had been nearby for a long time.

Creatures like Vivi fear dark energy. Oni then spoke.

"Kyle, remember your father told you to find a necromancer? I suspect the energy we sensed belonged to him. Necromancy can only be performed using dark energy or through over two hundred years of training. This man inherited dark energy, and Vivi can sense it. Only a few people in the entire world inherit such power.

Since he's currently inside the sky fortress, it means he's going to fight the God of the Sky."

"Oh, so it really is him. But his energy disappeared," Kyle said

"Yes, his energy vanished but there was another presence with it. Divine energy. I know exactly what entity it was. It was Doderach," said Oni.

"Doderach? Only a god can summon that entity, and they do so only when their opponent possesses immense power. That means this necromancer can stand against gods and he's doing exactly that. We have to save him," said Grandpa Caesar.

Suddenly, they heard the sound of glass cracking.

"Look at that!" Ace said.

A bright light shone from a section of the sky fortress.

Vivi sensed the energy again. They rushed toward it. The dark energy vanished once more, but this time it faded slowly meaning the user was hiding. The fortress then exploded as pillars, towers, and structures were destroyed by dark energy blasts.

Noah was responsible.

Cloud dominions (sylphs) and storm warrior's scattered, searching for him. Army generals were mobilized, and the God of the Sky, Suiryu, hovered high above the fortress.

Kyle and the others quickly discussed their next move.

They would scatter throughout the fortress. If the necromancer though they didn't yet know it was Noah engaged Suiryu, they would step in, defeat the generals, and assist in the fight. If he didn't confront the god, they would rescue him, because the sky forces were fully alert and would not let him escape easily.

Meanwhile, Noah was beneath the fortress in the basement with his brothers, panting. His energy was drained after causing the explosion. His younger brothers were treating his wounds and planning their escape, but going outside was dangerous the war had already begun.

What they didn't realize was that the basement itself wasn't safe.

A giant monster slept behind them in a massive cage. Akira nearly screamed, but Noah quickly covered his mouth. Still, the creature awakened and fired a massive energy wave, destroying the basement.

Sky God Suiryu heard the explosion and instantly pinpointed Noah's location but

Noah had already fled before Suiryu arrived. His dark energy had partially recovered, enough to survive. Rico, Kai, and Akira were still with him.

Soon, three storm generals confronted them.

Noah gasped and summoned Eldric, Alexer a powerful half-human, half-beast and an Orc Lord. They clashed with the three generals:

Darius, a swordsman who relied on speed and wind.

Marcus, an eagle warrior with razor-sharp wings and wind magic.

Leon, an archer whose arrows moved at blinding speed, capable of shapeshifting and infused with lightning.

All of them could fly.

And standing before them was the God of the Sky himself Suiryu.

Oni was nearby, watching Noah. Noah showed no fear, but when Oni looked at Noah's brothers, the fear in their eyes was clear.

Oni entered the battle, blocking attacks and vanishing from sight moving too fast to be seen. He saved Noah and his brothers.

They didn't understand what had happened or where they were, but one thing was certain: Oni was not an enemy.

"Where am I? Who are you? What do you want from me?" Noah asked.

They were now inside a structure far from the castle. Kyle stepped forward.

Noah's head throbbed as he sensed a familiar energy.

"Are you related to Ryzen?" Noah asked.

"I'm his son," Kyle replied.

"Oh… then you want to kill the gods too, don't you? I'll join you. We share the same goal. I want to eliminate them all," Noah said.

"You're welcome. We are Metsuju," Kyle said.

Rico, Kai, and Akira smiled. Revenge was finally within reach.

"You three look strong. Want to fight?" Grandpa Caesar asked.

They agreed and lost, of course.

"Amazing. Who taught you?" Grandpa Caesar asked.

"Our master was Tao," Kai replied.

"Him? He slew the Cursed Dragon the one that once fought the Dragon King himself. After defeating it, Tao lost his powers due to a curse. He was also an old friend of mine," said Grandpa Caesar.

Noah nodded.

"You know the fundamentals of combat well, but you lack real experience," Grandpa Caesar said.

They began training with him, with Ace joining as well.

Meanwhile, Kyle, Lucy, Oni, and Noah discussed their final move.

"We're ready to slay Suiryu," Kyle said.

"Caesar and I will take the generals," Oni said. "Lucy, Ace, and Noah's brothers will handle the rest of the army. Kyle and Noah will fight Suiryu together. Noah will summon his undead forces to counter the angel division."

Everyone listened closely. The plan sounded flawless almost too flawless.

But was victory really going to come that easily?

Suiryu knew his generals weren't enough, so he unleashed a monster.

The Sylphadrom, along with five Giant Sylphs.

They were invincible beasts, swimming through the clouds like sharks.

As Metsuju prepared to attack, a massive energy blast exploded nearby, releasing overwhelming pressure and throwing them away.

Kyle got back up.

Standing before him was a 117-foot-tall Sylphadrom, and beside it, five 40-foot Giant Sylphs.
