Another day passed, and before they knew it, night had already fallen.
Allen yawned as he rode beside Lola in the backseat. He glanced at her, watching her read through the newly compiled reports. Recovery efforts at the site were still ongoing. Many bodies had been recovered, but a significant number remained unidentified.
"Get some rest tonight," she muttered without taking her eyes off the papers. "I'll handle these."
"Madam, you should rest too." Allen frowned deeply. "The twins already noticed you look exhausted."
Lola didn't respond.
It was true. During their earlier video call, her children had pointed it out. Since she couldn't leave yet, she kept in constant contact with them. She had told them Atlas was a little hurt but was recovering in the hospital.
Thankfully, the twins were behaving. They kept reassuring her that they were fine. Now that they were back with the Order, Lola felt slightly more at ease.
