"What is it?" I asked, moving back to the chair I've been sitting in beside Nina, just awhile ago.
Ravić was already pouring us a drink, the liquid catching the afternoon light as he set the glasses down in front of us with quiet precision. Then he disappeared briefly into the kitchen to retrieve the bottle.
Sebastian lowered himself into the armchair across from us, his posture controlled but coiled, as if the words he was carrying were heavier than he wanted to admit.
Ravić returned a moment later, placing the bottle on the coffee table before sinking into the seat beside me. Close, protective. His hand rested warm and steady on my thigh, grounding me before anything had even been said.
Sebastian exhaled slowly, elbows braced on his knees. For a moment, he didn't speak. He just stared at the untouched glass in front of him like it was somehow safer to look at, than any of us.
