"Landon!"
Aveline froze on hearing Nora's scream. The bullet that was meant for Atlas, had hit Landon instead.
A moment of silence occurred, but then it lifted, and chaos ensured.
Atlas switched directions and ran to Aveline instead.
He grabbed her hand into his, pulling her along.
"Let's go," he said.
"Landon. He's–" she trembled.
"Forget him. Let the police handle their mistake."
However, they couldn't get to the gate before they were accosted by two cops.
"You're not leaving," one simply said.
Atlas was stubbornly going to keep moving, but Aveline stopped him.
"No. Please no. You can't get hurt."
"Hurt? By who? Same cops who shot another man trying to shoot me?" He scoffed. "They can't even do their jobs properly. As far as I'm concerned, they're all a bunch of useless–"
She jumped in front of him, and hugged him. "Stop provoking them, please. They'll hurt you."
The ambulance arrived, and the paramedics rushed in to carry Landon away.
