"Your Honor, Kelsey has already stated her preference for living with Mr. and Mrs. Cameron," said Sandra. "Shouldn't she be allowed her own voice in this matter?"
"I am the child's voice in this matter," said the judge. "It is the court's responsibility to place her in an environment where she has security and love. So far, I have doubts about her current choices.
"However, it is preferable that the child be raised by a relative. Kelsey has spent long enough in foster care. Don't worry, counselor, I will talk to Kelsey about what she wants, but not until she has opportunity to spend time with her aunt."
