Finn's body arched, and he coughed up another mouthful of blood, his eyes turning completely black as the darkness consumed him. Horns burst forth from his forehead, and his tail, no longer small and timid, swung from side to side like a whip.
The convulsions stopped. Finn's body stilled, and he stood up, towering over his family. He looked at his hands, now twisted with dark power, and let out a low, menacing laugh that sent shivers down their spines.
"Aah," he growled, his voice not his own. "I... am... free." The laugh grew louder, darker, echoing through the room like thunder.
Finn's laughter grew louder as he levitated slightly off the ground, his tail swinging back and forth.
Emily walked closer to him, concern etched on her face. "Little Finn, little Finn, are you okay?" she asked, her voice laced with worry.
Finn's laughter stopped cold, and he turned his pale, dark eyes towards her. With a wide grin, he said, "Dear sister, I'm better than okay. I am powerful."
Then, his eyes snapped back to normal. The horns on his head disappeared. His demon wings vanished. But his tail... it still stood there, swishing slightly behind him.
Finn's eyes widened in surprise as he grabbed his tail, pulling it like he'd caught it by accident. A sharp pain shot up his spine, and he yelled, "Ow!" He stared at the tail, bewildered. "What the... why do I have a tail?"
He touched the tip, feeling the pointy end, and his eyes went wide. "Wait, it's... pointy." He looked back at his family, confusion and a bit of alarm on his face. "Guys... what's going on? Why do I have a tail?"
"Finn, it's part of your demon heritage," Amber explained, trying to sound calm. "You've got a bit more... complicated ancestry than the rest of us."
Finn's eyes widened, his grip on the tail tightening. "Demon heritage? What does that mean?"
Franklin stepped forward, a reassuring smile on his face. "It means you're special, Finn. And we've got a lot to teach you about controlling your... new features."
Emily chuckled, patting Finn's shoulder. "Don't worry, little bro. We've got your back. And you've got a cool new tail to show off!"
Finn's expression was a mix of shock, excitement, and a bit of fear. "A tail... okay, I can handle this. But... can someone please tell me how to make it go away?"
The family laughed, and Sophia spoke up, "Well, Finn, that's the thing. It's part of you now. You'll learn to control it, but it's not going anywhere."
Finn looked at his six siblings and his mother, his eyes scanning their tailless behinds. "So... why don't the rest of you have a tail? But I have one? It makes no sense!" he asked, his voice laced with frustration and confusion.
Frederick stepped forward, a wide smile spreading across his face. "Well, Finn, that's because you're more powerful than the rest of us," he said, his eyes gleaming with a mix of admiration and teasing.
Finn's eyes widened, his grip on his tail tightening. "More powerful? What do you mean?"
Amber intervened, her expression serious. "Finn, your demon blood is stronger than the rest of the family's. It's... complicated."
Finn's face scratched with confusion. "But... why?"
Lucas chimed in, "Think of it like a inheritance, Finn. You got the big prize."
Finn's eyes narrowed, his mind racing. "So... Grandmother Lyra did something to me, didn't she?"
The room fell silent, the siblings exchanging uneasy glashes.
Amber's voice was soft. "We think so, Finn. She's been manipulating things from the shadows."
Finn's grip on his tail tightened, his eyes flashing with determination. "I'll make sure it was worth it, then."
The family exchanged worried glashes, knowing Finn's determination was a double-edged sword.
Finn if you are uncomfortable with your tail being out in the open like this you can wrap it around yourself that way it would not obstruct you or anyone else. Franklin said with a smile.
Finn nodded and did as his father suggested.
His tail coiled around his waist, he felt a sense of relief. "Thanks, Father," he said, looking down at his now-themeless lower half.
Amber smiled, her eyes warm. "You're getting used to it, Finn. That's good."
Finn grinned, feeling a bit more at ease with his new appendage. "Yeah, I guess having a tail isn't so bad after all."
"Finn, for the next year, you will be training with me so that you could learn to control your demon sight," Amber said with a bright smile.
Finn's eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly nodded, determination etched on his face. "I'm ready, Mother. I won't let you down."
Within no time, a year had passed and Finn had mastered the transformation from human to demon. Not as much as Amber would like, but it was something, and she was thankful for that.
Now he spent the next six months with his family, laughing and cheering.
But Sometime during those months, Aria had returned home to the Elvin kingdom; she thank the Sixton family for allowing her to stay with them. then she and Finn had said their goodbyes, and Finn was a little heartbroken about it.
He missed her bright smile and playful teasing he made a promise to come visit her when everything was settled.
Later that day Finn and his family were enjoying the day and all of a sudden a portal appeared in front of them.
Lyra and her four subordinates stepped out.
Lyra, though thousands of years old, appeared as a young woman in her early twenties, with piercing red eyes and raven-black hair that cascaded down her back like a dark waterfall.
She wore a demon crown adorned with crimson gems that seemed to pulse with an inner fire,
and her attire was that of a demon queen - black leather corset, dark red cloak with intricate silver embroidery, and thigh-high boots that seemed to be made from the shadows themselves.
Her four attendants, all demons themselves, wore dark armor with crimson accents, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy as they flanked their queen.
As she stepped over the portal, a radiant smile spread across Lyra's face. "Well, well, well... if it isn't my beautiful daughter and her lovely family," she said, her voice dripping with warmth and a hint of mischief.
One of Lyra subordinates stepped forward, standing before Finn and his family. "How dare you, how dare you all just sit there while the Demon Queen is speaking to you?" he spat, his voice dripping with venom. "On your knees, you insolent whelches!" he sneered.
Amber's eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing as she looked at him with anger. Then she spoke, her voice low and menacing, "Who the fuck do you think you're speaking to? You disrespectful fool."
Her words seemed to strike the demon like a physical blow, and he took ten steps back, fear flickering in his eyes.
A second subordinate, a tall, lean demon with piercing yellow eyes, stepped forward and turned to the retreating colleague. " Godfrey! There's no reason for you to fear her," she said, her voice calm and collected. "What you said is true. They should kneel, and I believe we should punish them for their disrespect."
She turned back to Amber, a cold smile spreading across her face. "But we'll let the Queen decide their fate, shall we?"
Godfrey dropped to his knees, his face contorted in a mixture of fear and determination. "Forgive me, Your Majesty, but I cannot allow her to speak to you in such a way," he pleaded. "Jules and I shall punish her severely for you."
With a snarl, Godfrey and Jules charged forward, their movements lightning-fast as they aimed to take down Amber. Finn's eyes widened, and he instinctively moved to protect his mother, but Amber just smiled, a cold, calculating glime in her eye.
"If the two of you really wanted to die this badly, all you had to do was just say so," Amber said with a frown, her voice dripping with disdain.
In a flash, she vanished from her spot, and with a single, fluid motion, she decapitated both Godfrey and Jules. Their lifeless bodies clattered to the ground, blood spurting from their severed necks.
Lyra laughed, a low, dark sound emanating from her voice. "It served them right. They were too disrespectful," she said with a grin, an approving smile spreading across her face .
