Chapter 110 - Chapter 110: Speedrun 21

While War and Death were constantly barraging the cyclops, Famine was sneakily infecting all the wounds they had inflicted to make sure he couldn't regenerate and deal with them after he was fully transformed.

Senzo, on the other hand, kept his eyes glued to the cyclops's body, looking for any sign of his transformation being finished. He was really hoping they could kill it before that happened, but it was looking rather grim.

They had been constantly attacking the monster, and there was even a hole in his heart, but he still didn't show any signs of falling over and dying.

As the seconds slowly passed, War and Death kept flying around, breaking the sound barrier with every attack.

Senzo was pouring his absolute all into killing this bastard; his breaths were slowly becoming more and more labored, and he could clearly feel that he was reaching his limits.

His whole body was covered in sweat, and he didn't even have the energy to move his arms anymore, so all he could do now was move Death and War around with his mind. But that took a lot more energy than simply using his arms, especially in his current exhausted state.

Come on!

He was silently cheering Death and War on in his mind because he didn't want to waste any more energy on useless actions.

Shit...

That's when what he was fearing finally happened: the giant monster moved its head slightly, but that was enough for Senzo to pull the three horsemen back as they surrounded the now normal-sized cyclops from all sides once more.

War and Death quietly stared at Senzo with discontent gazes, but they knew better than to question him at the moment, so they focused their gazes back on the monster a moment later.

So that's why he pulled me away.

War immediately felt the pressure of the monster reach a new high and instinctively knew he must have completed the transformation, if you could even call it that.

"Isn't it more fitting to call it shrinking?" he muttered to himself with a slight smirk on his face.

Death, on the other hand, stared at the cyclops that was now about the same size as War with dread, just thinking about how all their attacks failed to kill it, and looking at the master's condition, it was easy to see they were in a very disadvantageous position.

Famine just looked at the monster with a relieved expression; he could clearly feel his regenerative blocking power working against the monster. It would not be healing any of the egregious wounds his brothers had inflicted.

With a simple nod he implied this to both his brothers and Senzo; all three of them heaved a silent sigh of relief upon learning that Famine's power was working.

"Not bad, I must say. I was not expecting you little ants to actually bring me to such a sorry state." the cyclops muttered while moving his right hand, which was loosely hanging from the wrist, down.

And the strangest thing was that his wounds, which should have long healed, weren't healing at all for some reason.

He took a quick glance at the wound, but then he realized something: he couldn't see anything anymore.

"..."

Silence followed when he realized what this meant: if he couldn't heal his wounds, he would need to fight these formidable adversaries in such a sorry state, and even with his immense life force, with a hole in his heart, it was only a matter of time before he would succumb to them.

"Now you have truly done it, challenger; you have angered the great me!"

The cyclops's voice became louder after every word, and by the time he had finished his sentence, he turned his head and stared straight at Senzo.

"!!!"

Senzo was immediately alarmed, seeing that happen. How? His eyes are gone...

His mind raced with all kinds of possibilities, but he didn't dare to lose himself in thought; this was a life-and-death struggle, and any loss of concentration could prove to be a fatal one.

"Get ready, guys; just stall for time while chipping away at him. With those wounds, his speed should drop significantly!" Senzo told the three horsemen while floating upward to check if the monster's empty eye sockets would follow him.

As expected, he has some other way to feel or know where we are.

Seeing the monster's gaze follow his movements, Senzo was sure even without his eyes the monster would easily be able to locate them, and they couldn't just play cat and mouse until it died.

"Charge! But be careful and try to stall for time!" Senzo ordered the three horsemen while he quickly froze the vectors around him to form a kind of cage, trying to make himself invisible so the monster wouldn't be able to locate him anymore.

Even though he had no idea how the monster was able to locate him, he could at least try to make it harder for him. And if by some miracle he could block that, it would become a much easier fight.

When War and the others heard Senzo's orders, War didn't hesitate for a moment and roared like a madman while grasping his greatsword tightly at the hilt; he would draw the monster's aggro so the master could catch his breath for a moment.

Death and Famine looked at one another for a mere moment and instantly came to an understanding of what they would do as well.

Just keep doing what we have been doing; the only difference is that we just have to be more careful and burden Master as little as possible.

After a quick glance toward Senzo, Death also charged at the cyclops, but unlike War, he didn't charge in a straight line while shouting like an idiot.

Death tried to be as sneaky as possible by approaching from a direction completely opposite to War's.

He would first try to figure out how the monster was able to locate them, because the moment they found that out, it would be much easier to lessen the burden on their master.

Let's do this!
