The next few days passed uneventfully. Little progress had been made regarding Rogue's whereabouts, and Greyson hoped his father would bring back good news when he arrived home that evening.
Harry and Brooke hadn't had an argument yet, which was quite an achievement for them.
Indianna had successfully managed to discuss the project with Brandon without Greyson wanting to murder him, and she had even spent some mother-daughter time with Iris.
She was starting to get the hang of the whole werewolf malarkey. Her speed was still a slight problem, but she was getting better at controlling it.
Indianna looked up at the sky and smiled. It was so peaceful in the woods. Everything was calm and—
The breath was knocked out of her as she was tackled to the ground. Her vision blurred as she was spun around, and a whimper escaped her lips.
She looked up at her attacker.
A large black wolf with blue eyes that Indianna could never mistake.
Greyson! she groaned and wriggled underneath the large wolf. Her small, newly shifted wolf was nothing compared to Greyson.
Greyson smirked, if it was possible in wolf form, and licked Indianna's furry face.
For someone who wants to learn self-defence, you aren't very aware of your surroundings.
I was just thinking about how peaceful it was until you rudely interrupted, Indianna pouted.
Greyson chuckled as he climbed off her and allowed her to stand.
You told me last week that you wanted to learn self-defence now that you're a wolf, and that's what I'm going to teach you. You always have to be prepared for a surprise, sugar, Greyson said.
Indianna huffed and stretched her wolf legs. Being a wolf used to feel foreign, but now it felt natural.
We'd better get showered if we want to make it to school on time.
Or we could stay in the shower together all day and enjoy some private time, Greyson said casually as he walked over and teasingly nudged Indianna to the side.
I'm going to ignore that comment, Indianna said, rolling her eyes as she started walking back towards the pack house.
They shifted back into human form before reaching the tree line and changed into spare clothes they had left hidden behind a tree.
Indianna and Greyson made their way into the quiet pack house and walked upstairs together, hand in hand.
"It's your last chance to take me up on that offer," Greyson said when Indianna stopped outside her room.
She raised her eyebrows at him, and he smirked.
"You're missing out," he shrugged before turning on his heel and walking towards his room.
Indianna chuckled softly to herself and entered her room, heading straight for the bathroom.
It was only six in the morning. Indianna hadn't been able to sleep, and Greyson had sensed that her wolf was restless, so he had suggested they go for a run before school.
She showered and dried off before walking back into her room, where she found Greyson lounging on her bed.
He was dressed in his usual attire of skinny jeans, a black T-shirt and black boots. His damp hair was pushed back messily, with a few strands hanging over his forehead.
Indianna walked over to her wardrobe and got changed. She smirked when she heard Greyson growl lowly.
She quickly pulled on a pair of ripped skinny jeans and tugged a loose white vest top over her head.
"Control yourself, Greyson," she grinned.
She turned around to smirk at Greyson, whose eyes had darkened. She slipped her feet into a pair of heeled boots and grabbed her cream cardigan from the end of her bed.
Greyson sat up and grabbed Indianna's arms, pulling her onto the bed.
"Let's not go downstairs just yet," he said into her ear.
Indianna shifted so she was lying beside him.
"I just want to be alone with you."
"That's creepy."
"I'm trying to be romantic."
"It's creepy," Indianna repeated with a laugh.
"Shut up," Greyson grumbled. He wrapped his arms around Indianna and rested his chin on her shoulder. "Are you excited about tomorrow?"
"I don't know. Should I be?" Indianna wondered.
"It's your birthday tomorrow."
"I'm aware of that."
"Well, I can guarantee you won't be turning down my attention tomorrow," Greyson smirked.
"I thought we had to go to your Alpha friend's pack tomorrow."
"We'll have plenty of time before we leave," he mumbled. "And at night. All night."
"I swear the man's mind revolves entirely around flirting," Indianna said.
"Not entirely," Greyson defended himself. "Attraction takes up a generous amount of space, too."
Indianna gasped and elbowed Greyson, but she knew he was only teasing.
"Pig."
"You love me," Greyson said smugly.
"You wish," Indianna scoffed and wriggled out of his hold. She stood up from the bed. "Let's go. I'm hungry."
Greyson stood up, and they made their way downstairs together.
The pack house was busier now, so Indianna took a seat beside Brooke at the kitchen counter and reached for an apple.
"Hey, hun," Brooke grinned.
Indianna bit into her apple.
"Hey," she smiled before swallowing. "How are things with you and Harry?"
"Better than usual," Brooke admitted and nibbled on her toast. "After our last argument, everything seems to be going well."
"Don't speak too soon," Greyson called as he searched the kitchen cupboard for food. "You two will be at each other's throats by next week."
"Greyson, shut up!" Indianna said. "It's good that they aren't arguing."
"The two of them are so similar. They were made to argue," Greyson scoffed and poured himself a bowl of cereal.
"You and Indie couldn't be more different, but you still argue," Brooke shrugged.
"Not to the extent that you and Harry do," Greyson replied.
"We only argue because Brooklyn is extremely stubborn," Harry announced as he walked into the kitchen and kissed Brooke on the cheek.
"Um, I think it's because you're a bossy dick," Brooke corrected him with a sweet smile.
"And here we go," Greyson muttered.
Harry scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"We aren't going to argue," Brooke said and stood up. "Instead, we're going to school."
She held out her hand to Harry, who grabbed it and pulled her into his chest.
"See you guys there," Harry said.
The two of them walked off.
"Have we got to leave early tomorrow?" Indianna wondered.
"Not really. As long as we're out of the house by ten, we should make it on time," Greyson shrugged as he ate his cereal. "Janson is expecting us around two. It's about a four-hour drive."
"How long are we staying for?"
"Only a few days," Greyson said. "We'll be home before you know it."
When Indianna and Greyson got out of Greyson's car in the school car park, the school principal was waiting for them.
"Indianna Hughs," he said as he walked towards her. "I need to speak to you in my office."
Indianna frowned.
"Why?" she asked.
"Come with me, Indianna," he said.
Greyson grabbed Indianna's hand.
"What is this about?" he demanded.
The principal was only human, but he could sense the authority radiating from Greyson. He gulped before answering.
"We've been informed that drugs are being sold at this school," the principal said.
"And you think I have something to do with it?" Indianna gasped.
"That is what we want to find out," the principal nodded.
"Why is Indianna a suspect?" Greyson asked.
"We have been told that she is responsible for supplying the drugs."
"It's not true," Indianna said. "I've never even taken drugs in my life!"
She was seated in front of the principal in his office, and Greyson had persuaded him to let him stay.
The principal placed a small, clear plastic bag on the desk in front of him. Indianna frowned when she recognised the contents.
"Have you ever seen this before, Indianna?" the principal questioned.
"Y-Yes, but they aren't drugs!" Indianna gasped.
"So you're confirming that this belongs to you?"
"Yes—"
"Indianna Hughs, I'm afraid I'm going to have to inform the police."
"Hold on," Greyson said firmly. "Let her speak!"
The principal swallowed and looked at Indianna.
"What do you have to say for yourself?"
"They aren't drugs," Indianna said quietly. "They're herbs. You mix them with water, and they're meant to help you sleep."
"Can you explain why I found several students smoking this substance in the car park? They were extremely high, and guess who they said sold them the drugs?"
"It wasn't me!" Indianna gasped. "I swear."
"I'm afraid this is a matter for the police."
"It has to be someone at the house," Greyson said. "Someone who can get into your room. Principal, we have a lot of people living at our house. Anyone could have sneaked into Indianna's room and stolen the herbs."
"I would like to think that such a well-behaved student wouldn't do something like this," the principal said.
"Who told you that Indianna sold them the herbs?" Greyson asked.
"I can't tell you—"
"Yes, you can," Greyson said sternly. "And you most definitely will."
The principal sighed.
"The person who gave me the drugs is fairly new. I don't remember her name, but she had pink hair..."
Indianna and Greyson looked at each other.
Greyson clenched his fists.
"I'm going to kill her," he growled.
"Sir, I'm being set up," Indianna explained.
"This is a serious accusation," the principal frowned. "Who are you accusing?"
"The girl who told you it was me," Indianna said and looked at Greyson.
"Kimberly," he growled.
