Synopsis
The Sect Leader of the Ember Sect was a pitiful man. Back when he was just a 3rd-grade trainee, everyone believed he was a once-in-a-thousand-year genius. They were wrong. He only rose to Sect Leader because of his above-average martial talent and scholar-level intellect. But in a world ruled by strength, that wasn’t enough. He challenged masters, elders, sect leaders from rival factions—even wandering warriors desperate for a breakthrough. And each time, he lost. Again and again. In the end, the Ember Sect was burned to the ground by the very people they once trusted. Everyone died… except him. The disgrace of the sect. He roamed the land, coming across a cave, in there he found a hidden martial arts tome and a blade forged from unbreakable metal. He trained harder than anyone. Sought revenge. And then—he died. But the heavens took pity on him. He opened his eyes... fifteen years in the past, right after his first defeat against the Sky Piercing Sect Leader. Can he change the fate that once crushed him?

Chapter 1 - Chance (1)

He Jolted Upwards, breathing erratic. "You Bastards!" Sweat dripped down his face, his mind a mess with swirling thoughts. 'Huh? where am i? this place...'

'This place is... my cabin from when i was sect leader?'

No wreckage. No flames. No destruction.

He grabbed his head. Then—A Wave of silence came from his abdomen, his qi, it reverted back to first rate.

'My qi? it's back to first-rate? i clearly remember reaching Supreme Peak back then... they wouldn't have spared me, so why—Hold on... Don't tell me I'm in the past?!'

His eyes shook, he didn't think he'd come back into the past... His breathing calmed down, as he looked around and stood up.

'The Heavens... they gave me this chance, so i must use it wisely... but just how much into the past was i sent back?'

His eyes narrowed, as the sounds of voices, swords clashing, Screaming...

"It really is the Ember Sect..." A Laugh came out, as he chuckled. A Sense of Relief and Happiness washed over him, as his lips couldn't help but curl up.

I sat down, closed my eyes, and filtered out the noise around me. A skill I learned after reaching past Supreme Peak level. I could do it now even with almost no qi.

He closed his eyes, filtering out the noise by lowering the sensitivity of his ear drums. A Skill he learnt after reaching Supreme Peak Level. He could do it now even with first-rate impure qi.

Opening his eyes, a bunch of questioned popped into his Mind as he began thinking. 'Just what is the heaven's goal by sending me back into the past?'

'Why am I here?'

'Do i even deserve this opportunity? i feel like the Orthodox Alliance Leader of the Previous Generation deserves this more than me; after all he died trying to beat the heavenly demon but failed.'

He quickly shook his head and slapped his cheeks as he announced. "If this chance was given to me, i should take it!

"I shouldn't think about those things, i should only focus on the future."

'Just how far back am i? definitely more than 12 years.'

I let out a sigh. "What a hassle... but it means I can save my sect!" I smiled—right as someone knocked on the door.

A Smile peered into his lips, as he talked to himself. "guess i have to be a hero."

"Sect Leader, are you alright? You're talking to yourself," a voice came from outside. I could see the shadow through the thin, old-style paper wall. 'I should really replace those...'

A knock came from the door, as a voice spoke. "Sect Leader, are you alright? you screamed earlier and even talked to yourself." The Sect Leader Lysander could see the shadow of a man through the thin, Zhichuang Walls. 'I should really replace those with Changhoji Walls instead...'

'Who is that...?' I stared at the door. Then replied, "Yes, yes. I'm alright. Uhm... what year is it?"

'Anyways, who is that?' Lysander stared at the door, before replying after a brief moemnt of silence. "Yes, yes. I am quite alright, oh and, What year is it?"

"Sect Leader... don't tell me you have Alzheimer's?" he replied. 'Definitely a guy...'

"Sect Leader... Have you developed Alzheimer's from all that dueling?" The man replied, as Lysander Commented. 'Definitely a man behind those doors.'

'And someone pretty high-ranking if he's speaking that casually.'

'And someone high-ranking judging by his way of speech which could only the senior 1st Class Disciples, Hall Leaders, Sword of Ember, Elders...'

"It's Year 44 on the Venluen Calendar. May I come in, Sect Leader?"

"It's the year 1444 on the Venluen Calendar. May i come in, Sect Leader? I have something to report."

'WHAT?! A year before I fought that wandering martial master... 15 years ago?! No—wait... a year into the future from that! I stared at the door, wide-eyed.'

'What? A year before i fought that wandering peak martial master? 15 years ago? No... 14 Years ago.' Lysander stared at the door wide-eyed. 'I didn't think i'd go that far...'

"You have permission." He responded, fixing his posture, pose, and hair a bit. 'I can't even use most of my future knowledge... they are all far into the future! I only remember 10 years at max, This is such a hassle...'

He Frowned, As the door slid open.

A Guy around 1.9m tall, Long black hair, Tied up into a Ponytail, Young, Smooth Fair Skin.

'Samuel? the strongest disciple the ember sect had? Heh, I can't call him a disciple anymore, he's become the Sword of Ember, A rank below elder...'

"Sammy, How is your day?" Lysander asked, tilting his head with a smile. 'Annoying, i can't remember anything past 10 years... I only remember up to the point the ember sect was destroy. but i am really glad to see sammy, he is the one who tried to save me afterall, despite me being an incapable leader.'

Samuel, the Sword of Ember looked at me like i'd have grown a second head, as he bowed. "Good morning, Sect Leader. Elder Levi has told me that he needs to see you about something. i was worried i would disturb your sleep, but thankfully i did not."

"Alright, tell him I'll come out in a minute." I gestured for him to go. He gave me another confused look, then stepped out and closed the door.

"Alright, tell him i'll be seeing him in a few." He gestured sammy to go. As Samuel gave him a confused look, bowing as he stepped out, closing the door behind him.

'Shit... I must've been way more uptight before. Judging by how confused he looked when I acted nice...' I frowned again. 'I really didn't deserve those guys. Especially my position.'

Noticing Samuel's Looks, Lysander frowned as he thought. 'I must've been more uptight and angry... He looked so confused when i was acting genuine...' he frowned once more. 'i don't even deserve them, i don't deserve my position as Sect Leader...'

Lysander stretched his body, noticing his muscles gone. 'Dogsht, I can't believe my strength degraded... a small price to pay, but i have to work harder to gain them back.'*

He walked towards the door slowly, His throat dry and hoarse.

The Image of the sect, Burnt down, Rubble everywhere, Broekn swords, Cracked and destroyed marble. dust, ash, burn marks covering everything, bodies piled upon bodies.

It all flashes through his mind like a nightmare on a loop.

He swallowed his saliva, his body trembled. He was afraid, afraid that the sight awaiting him would be the Burnt down sect.

'Please be alright...'
