The carriage slowed as it approached the massive stone gate of Velaris, and one of the guards raised a hand for them to stop.
"Your entry permit," one of the guards asked.
Inside the carriage, Liam turned to Chrises and nodded.
"I will handle it," Chrises said, before stepping from the carriage and walking to the guards.
Meanwhile, inside the carriage, Liam allowed his mind to wander. He was trying to organise himself and his plans.
While he already understood a bit about this world from what Chrises told him, there was still a lot he doesn't know. But learning everything about this world would take time.
But the web of tasks that pulling him between the three universes is the problem. The problem for him was time. He had too much of it and too little at the same time.
It was a paradox only someone like him could understand.
He sighed softly to himself, as he couldn't help but feel that maybe he had been too impatient.
